Dr Hernandez Optometry

Supper satisfied with this place ! There’re Such humble welcoming employees who show they love their job ! However my point here is not only that I’m satisfied ! But An employee named Hugo was such An amazing great guy ! He does all he can, to go out of his way, and try to make the process more faster then usual. I lost my glasses and I went to order some today I had to wait 2 weeks but he made it happen not in one day but in 2 hours !!! I mean how is that possible !!? There was lots of people, it was really packed and he still made time to get this done !! Literally amazing ! Best hardworking person I ever met ! He is a true definition of a humble kind hardworking person who enjoys what he does ! Dr. Hernandez Optometry NEEDS more workers like Hugo Cabrera ! Supper shocked and happy to be able to get my glasses thanks to Hugo ! If it wasn’t for him I would of waited 2 weeks having headaches!

My mom started bringing me to this eye doctor when I was a child. I like that their office is always clean, and it looks nice. I never noticed that they weren’t very child friendly until
yesterday, when I took my 4 year old to his first visit. We waited for about 30 minutes, and my child was bored. I asked the person at the front if she could please put some cartoons on, but she said they didn’t have any childrens channels. I like this Doctor for me, but I will most likely have to go elsewhere where they are a bit more child friendly :(.

Great service! I was helped by Denise. She was very helpful, informative and attentive to my family. She made our experience amazing. There was not a moment we did not feel unattended. I highly recommend everyone visit this optometry. I really look forward to my next visit.

I was recently at Dr. Hernandez office to ask questions about my insurance. Maria was really help full she gave me a break down on how much I would be spending on a pair of eye glass and eye exam.

My mom Elizabeth Rosas went to see doctor hernandez and he was awesome and friendly. The wait was short and easy. They checked the insurance quick, and thanks to mr. Hugo Cabrera who helped us out through the whole process. I wish they would carry CHANEL

My experience at Doctors Hernandez office was as good one. They speak Spanish and ENGLISH, I mean not a big deal for me because I can speak both but definitely a plus.
Dr. Hernandez Is the best eye doctor that I’ve ever been too (5 out 5 stars) and to me this is what I’m looking for at a Doctors office. Doctors who have many years (20+years)of experience and know how to connect and build a relationship with their patients.
I’ve gone to a doctors office where the staff has attitude, like they hate their jobs, they hate Monday’s, they hate breakfast, and they simply hate life. For example the Dentist office that’s I go to. I still go to my dentist because he’s the best there is, and even though there staff has this face like they smelled poop. I still go their because the DOCTOR is really great in his field! Ok back to Dr Hernandez…
The customer service was ok, I’d probably give 4 stars out of 5. I mean, I don’t expect them to give me a pillow and a bottle water as I wait (but If they did I’d totally give them 5 stars). I’m not sure how this office got even one bad review??? Goes to show you, you can’t please everyone and some people are just straight out negative. Come on people get it together, you attract what you put out.
After reading those negative reviews I felt it was necessary to take the time to put my review. I hope this helps people clear up any doubt that you’ve found the perfect EYE DOCTOR.
Dr. Hernandez is the best at what he does!

First time coming here and it was awesome. Dr. And the staff there are very professional and friendly. I was having a hard time choosing a frame but thanks to Hugo Cabrera I came out with legit eyeglasses. I love them. I will continue coming here. Very fast service too.

My second try at an optometrist that day. I must say i was impressed waking in very professional. Staff was very friendly ad helpful! … and Dr. Hernandez was very nice and patient with my son (since he was falling asleep during the eye exam). I loved it thru had a variety of brands and frames to choose from. My little man looks so handsome with his glasses.

If it wasn’t for the nice optometrist and the assistant I would’ve given them (if it’s an option) no stars. For starters the ladies in the front seemed real standoffish, after I had my eyes checked they called me up to check out the glasses and the lady pulled out all their «on sale» glasses and when I asked for the name brand she seemed hesitant, I assume it was because of my insurance. When I glanced over to the girl next to me it seemed like she had the red carpet rolled out for her. My sisters a patient and she had told me they can take half of the total amount and the next half when you picked the glasses up, the lady didn’t offer any options as far as pricing. I would’ve paid the whole balance anyways but because of my experience I just walked out with nothing.

I wish i couldn’t leave a srar but un order to leave a review you need a star. I had an appointment at 3 showed up 15 mins before and ended up leaving at almost 7 pm worst service ever i actually had an appointment and some came in as a walking about two hours later me and he was let in first to see the doctor and i went ballistic and their only excuse was he was one person patient and i was a had THREE person patients and they didnt want him waiting too long… its like WTF! I MADE THE APPOINTMENTS 2 WEEKS BEFORE AND HE JUST WALKED IN DONT RECOMMEND AT ALL

Wow! will never return… I had my appointment at 12;00pm I sat there for 35 minutes waiting and nothing. I asked how much longer and all I was told was it’s going to be a while we are behind. I left. The lady sitting in the front was anything but helpful. she was extremely rude and indifferent to the patients. I will not go anywhere pay money and be treated with disrespect. I witnessed her interaction with another patient and she came short of escorting him out. I admire the gentleman for having manners and simply making an appointment for another day. I can only speak for myself but I will not be returning.

I have been coming here for about four years now. I would not trust the health of my vision or that of my daughters to anyone else. Dr. Hernandez and his staff are the best. They’ve been in Huntington Park for I don’t know how many years serving the community with or without traditional insurance providers. Dr. Hernandez is attentive, kind and professional. I, unfortunately, booked an appointment around his lunch time this year and was seen by one of the associate doctors there. She was just as good. Also attentive and kind. I have this thing about my eye and things coming near it and she was really good about working around this difficulty which to be honest is an uncontrollable spasm… ah! The staff is great and make an effort to remember your name and make the appointment as speedy as possible. The only thing I did not like and I didn’t like when I first began coming here, although I see some logic in it, is the fact that you are asked to pick out a frame after you’ve been dilated. Grant it, it is not immediately after, but it is very hard to distinguish between colors and shapes when your pupils are the size of Raisinets. So far, I’ve been guided in the right direction and have not been unhappy with the frames I’ve picked out on my visits. I have a frame coming for myself and another for my daughter that I am told should be ready in a week or so… if my opinion changes on this, I will be sure to update my review. The sense I see in this is that it keeps you from having to make another appointment and come in for another visit to pick out your next frames and I’m sure they would be OK with having you wait in the lobby until the drops wear off for you to make a selection but there are very few of us who would do so. My word of advise: take an impartial judge with you [tell them you need a driver for the day due to the vision issue] and have them help you pick out a frame with you. Be sure this is the type of friend or acquaintance that would tell you if you have a booger coming out of your nose rather than snicker behind your back while you go about your day in public.
As far as the location goes, park in the back and walk through the .99 cent store and make your life easier by not having to keep track of the meters out front… arrive early enough and you can kill two birds with one stone and get some shopping done there is also a Walgreens across the parking structure on the same lot. Don’t forget to LOCK YOUR CAR!

Dr. Hernandez was awesome and I was able to book my appointment a day before– very short notice but my wait was not long at all. I was seen within 10 minutes and before you know it, I was looking at frames.
That’s when things took a turn, hard sell. Yes I have insurance but I’m not going to get the 300 dollar frames that aren’t even cute lol. I described the style I wanted and the lady helping me did go out of her way to find what I was describing. I found a pair I really liked but they didn’t have my size there but she checked in the back anyway. She took a long while to come back and when she did, she had super expensive frames that looked nothing like what I was looking for. She described them to be just «a little bit more» aka twice as much. I said no to the giant hipster high fashion frames and ordered my normal looking Guess glasses.
She forgot I had insurance and was charging me more than twice as much. I asked how much does the insurance cover and she says, «Ohhhh that’s right! You have insurance!»
She ordered the frame but a week later she calls me and says the distributor gave them the wrong size. So I waited another week for the frames and another two weeks for the glasses to be made. At that point, I sensed their attitude over the message they left me «If you’re interested in picking up your glasses today, they have just arrived we close at 5.30pm.» It was 5.20 pm and I was at work but yeah I was definitely interested since I called earlier that day at noon.
Dr. was cool, I didn’t like the staff.

Loved this place! I was not recommended this place; I first took my nephew to his appointment and loved this place and how the serviced him. I then signed my self for an appointment. Dr. John Hernandez was really patient and understanding with me and my horrible vision. Would really recommend this place
