San Salvador Restaurant

I visited this place with a friend a while back and the experience was not what we were hoping. The food was great but service was very slow and not in par with other pupuserias. There wasn’t much interaction with the waitress. For a weekend it was pretty empty. Just me, my friend and a group of teens.
You’ll fill your tummy but don’t expect much else.

Trust all the other reviews when they say the customer service is HORRIBLE! Seriously the waitress that was serving us was rude, unprofessional, and just bad! She didn’t even greet us, and when we would ask for stuff she would just walk away without acknowledging what we asked for. The food was good, not bad. But who wants to eat in a restaurant when the service sucks balls.

This place is a joke! Worst service ever!!! Food wise it’s alright, but I definitely had better. They’re rude and unprofessional. Avoid!

So we came here on a Saturday evening. The staff was setting up for whatever event they have at night. We waited a few minuets after sitting down to have menus brought to us even though we were the only ones in the restaurant. About 5 mins later she came to ask us what we were having and took another 5 min to bring us our drinks (water). Our food came out a plate at a time with a few mins in between each. After that she never approached us again. After we finished we waited kept looking at her trying to get her attention (she was standing at the register looking at her hands) so she could bring us our check. My husband finally got up ask for the bill and she said its $$. He asked her so there’s no check/​bill? She said «no» took his credit card and said it will be a dollar more for credit. Again he asked for a receipt with much attitude she said I have to write it out.
Other than the service the Food was great. I recommend them for take out. The Pupusas are very good. Way better than most in the area.

Worst service EVER! Never going back. Food was good, however, not worth the wait for service. Took 20 minutes to bring us waters after we asked. We had also ordered soda but had to wait another 20 minutes for her to bring us a can. Then, the waitress didn’t speak any English and had no clue what we were ordering. We had to point off the menu. Never going back!

This is a pretty radical establishment they have a restaurant downstairs with ample seating compleat with a juke box!
Up stairs they have a huge room that looks as if its used as a banquet hall sometimes. There’s many tables a good size stage area and a huge dance floor so you can get your groove on!
They also had a bar upstairs which was cool because that kept us from having to go back and forth to get brews and at $ 3 a pop for beer at the bar you can’t go wrong!
Also they have a good amount of parking in the back and for anyone who knows the LA area that’s always a plus because parking generally sucks all over the city!
We came here for a SKA show and wow was it a blast all the bands rocked the stage and sounded delightful. There was an awesome skank pit going on where everyone was dancing and just having a jolly time at this X-​Mas party!
The staff here were nice and very accommodating to the musicians and definitely a place we would come back and rock again!
There’s a possibility we will be back here at some point in the future for good times good tunes some Salvadorian food and some cold brews!

NEVER COMING BACK
Red flag to leave was when I noticed not a single car in the parking lot nor’ people in the restaurant… came in to a piercing sound of a guy singing karaōke. NOT THE BEST (have a headache now).Ensalada drink was good to start… halfway through my meal noticed there was a hair in my food EWW! And enough was enough when I noticed ANTS started to crawl on my pants when there’s a broken window seal and insects can easily crawl in and get in your food. OVERALL: Good food (wear hair nets), invest more into keeping up to date with health code and fixing broken seal next to one of booths and less on the horrible entertainment. Sincerely, girl with headache and ants crawling on pants.

Lack of service… too long for some pupusas, the place looks nice from the outside yet looks can be deceiving uggggh

This place is awesome. Food is great! My cousin works here. Her name is Sarah, please ask for her to serve you, she’s a sweetheart and super hardworking. The pupusas here are pretty big and at a reasonable prize. If you come, tell Sarah her cousin Yeny recommended you on Unilocal

Food is great and pupusas are inexpensive and big size. The service is a bit slow but very friendly. The restaurant is very clean and good atmosphere. Enjoy coming here with family.

Ok, so i came here with a group of friends to get some pupusas. They said this place was good, it was my first time. When we got there the place was somewhat empty so I thought, cool… that means we will get our food quick. I was wrong, we literally waited about 1 hour to get the first pupusas for my friends. They didn’t even bring everything together, I had to wait an additional 10 – 15 minutes to get my food and by then my friends had finished their food because they were hungry. This place is unbelievable. A complete lack of customer service, drinks were served once and there was no waiter there to refill us up during our wait time or at least tell us that the food was on its way. It was my first time here, and also my last. When I tried the food, the pupusas weren’t even great, they were average. I know better places nearby that are better and you don’t have to wait hours to get served.

This place has good prices and good size pupusas. Down side to this joint is the service there is none!!! they never check on you there are no refills and boy is it loud but if you want big $ 1.95 pupusas this is the spot nothing outstanding just ok
