Microsoft Store

If you have a technical problem with your device, I subject to set up an appointment to see technical support. But they can set up an appointment for you. I went there and this awesome guy called Rich helped me out, gave me a drink while I waited and got all the help I needed for my surface pro 3, that needed to upgrade correctly. I’ll definitely go back there

Showed up without an appointment. They took me within 5 minutes. Fixed Surface 2 issue quickly and professionally. Real happy with my experience. Friendly staff, clean store.

The guys make gross remarks whenever young women walk by their store. no thanks. I’ll stick with Apple.

Most of my experiences at this location have been mediocre. The staff members are usually friendly enough, but they often won’t acknowledge me when I walk in, even when they aren’t with customers, and some of them lack knowledge of products. For example, I noticed that the Nokia Lumia Icon on display had the Windows 8 rather than 8.1 OS, so I asked a girl working there if 8.1 would soon be available on the Icon. She insisted it was already on there, and I had to show her a Windows 8.1 phone nearby and point out the differences in the OSes. She got someone else to help me, and he was alright, but didn’t seem sure of the answer to my original question.
Tonight, I had a terrible experience there. My Surface Pro 3’s power cord died yesterday, and since my Surface is still under warranty, I figured I could get the cord replaced free of charge. I decided to try the Microsoft Store before contacting Microsoft support so I could pick up the cord that night rather than waiting several days for it to ship. I called ahead to make sure they would replace my cord there. I explained my situation to Chris, who assured me that I could get a new cord there and set me up with a 7:30 appointment. He was very friendly and helpful, but when I arrived at the store at 7:30, I was told that my appointment was at 7:15 and that I would have to wait a couple of minutes. Whatever, not a big deal.
The wait wasn’t long. When I got to speak with someone (whose name I’m sorry I didn’t catch), explain my situation, and show him my broken power cord, he told me that warranty doesn’t cover power cords since they’re not considered hardware. They’re considered accessories, as though the tablet can somehow function without one. He explained that manufacturers usually don’t cover power cords because they’re «difficult to break.» I had done some research online and found that a lot of people had Surface Pro 3 power cords that had broken in the same way mine had. When I told him that, he insinuated that it was voluntary response bias (i.e. just a few cranky people online) and not a problem in «the general population.» He then went on to blame me for the power cord’s breakage and said, «You have to treat these carefully.» When I asked if that meant I would have to pay $ 80 for a new cord, he said, «Yep.» He didn’t seem terribly sorry about my experience. I left feeling pretty upset. At least I got a free soda out of the ordeal.
When I got home, I contacted Microsoft support through their online chat about my cord. The lady I spoke with, Jewel, was very nice. She asked me for a picture of the cord, and, upon seeing it, assured me that I had nothing to worry about, and that Microsoft would send me a new one, free of charge. The chat took longer than I would have liked, but Jewel was very apologetic about it. Overall excellent customer service from her.
I also found out that Jewel wasn’t just making an exception for me. When I looked at my warranty info again, I saw that I had missed this line: «Device and *bundled accessory replacements* are available at no charge through the standard warranty expiration date of Jul 3, 2015.» (Emphasis mine.) So although the Microsoft Store guy was correct about the cord being considered an accessory, he was flat-​out wrong about its coverage under warranty. I wish I had seen that before I drove a half hour to the store.
Moral of the story: until Microsoft trains its store associates better, don’t expect much help from them.

Nice store. Clean and organized. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly without being pushy. Lots of cool stuff BUT it costs more than Best Buy which is across the street. I would definitely stop in if you are in the mall.

Kimar was awesome! Really nice guy, and the store is beautiful. It was great to just speak with somebody and not just get somebody trying to sell you a product. We chatted about how faulty some of the Microsoft products are, but that by the 3^rd Gen they work out the kinks… which I TOTALLY agree with.
Anyway, apple/​Mac fan or note, the store is great to go in and explore what other products are out there!

Tech guy Jason has no social skills, professionalism, or knowledge.
Don’t follow his directions for it will cost you over $ 200

All of the people in this store are super friendly and very helpful. I just got my PC and had an hour of personal training with Frank. He’s very smart and patient. I’m glad I made the transition and that I had him as a salesperson. However, it’s always best to do your research and reach out to all of your geek friends when making these types of purchase decisions.
Happy to say that they helped me upgrade my tech life.

First off let me say that on prior occasions and tonight’s visit I was here helping someone else buy a computer. And I am glad I was there. It’s the luck of the draw on the salesperson you get and the knowledge they possess. So if you know nothing about computers and what you are looking for, good luck.
For this purchase I visited the store first on Monday by myself. I was told specific information about an Asus laptop that looked like a good deal. Since the computer was not for me, I relayed the info to my friend and suggested she come back with me to take a look. Well when I came back tonight (2 days later), I got a different sales rep and he started giving me conflicting information. He then tried showing me different brands of laptops when I specifically told him the brands I was interested in.
The store also does not post all the specs of their displayed computers, just very limited basic info. They did show me all the specs on their computer when I asked, but I’m sure not many people think to ask.
I strongly suggest you (1) do your homework before walking in the store or (2) copying the model number of the computer you’re interested in and then going home and doing further research. Needless to say, while my friend was ready to make a purchase tonight, we walked out of the store empty handed.

I have had a mac for the past 7 years but now my poor macbook is coming to the end of its life.
I was in need of a new computer but at this point in my life with thousands of dollars in student loans I could not afford a new mac.
I decided to peruse the Windows store.
They have many different types of computers such as Asus, Acer, Hp, etc.
All of them run off the new Windows 8.
The sales man came right over to me and my mother as we entered the store.
He was extremely knowledgeable about all the products in the store. He showed us the ins and outs of the computer.
I must say windows 8 is very fun. I love the touch screen computers. Anyhow my mother came home a couple days later with a brand new Asus computer from the windows store.
I so far love. It is a lot of fun to play with and the touch screen works great.
I just don’t know if I trust windows based computers yet with all the viruses that go around. I guess I will just have to wait and see.
I bought the 2 year protection plan.
P.S they give a student discount on all the computers.

Ok right off I am going to tell you this …
I have not been a pc for years
I am an apple computer, iphone & ipad and ipod
I know not how to operate a windows based computer as one has not touched my fingers for over 10 years
BUT I did come into this store because it sucked me right in… friendly knowledgeable staff eager to show off their wares
look I cant say I am ready to commit to a windows 8 computer but it sure is inviting
the staff would gladly have let me play their for hours
clearly friendlier then those apple folks.
sshhh dont tell but I am really thinking I am getting a windows phone for my self in a short time.
and I know where I am buying it

I recently checked into the Microsoft store last week at Walt Whitman Mall and I have to say, Apple will probably sue them too for overall aesthetics. COMPLETELY a knock off of Apple stores… seriously Microsoft, can you be more original?
If you hate PC, don’t bother checking out the store just because they dressed their crappy products up with new wrapping paper, bows, and glitter. Not to mention, everything they sell is SOOOO expensive and costs more than even Apple products. They need to seriously tone down the white and bright lights everywhere… you’re blinded as soon as you walk in from it reflecting everywhere. I got a headache after 10 minutes…
Overall, Microsoft tries hard to push the sale of its hardware and PC brands, but falls short because they continue to think its a matter of the book cover and not whats on the inside that’s the real problem. #MicrosoftFAILSagain
