HORRIBLE! DO NOT GO HERE! Bought a groupon for 3 Brazilian waxes and the first time I went there they did an awful job. Very unsanitary room, they double dip into the wax (health hazard), and did not do a clean wax. The only plus is that it was not painful, but still not worth it. Since I already purchased 3 wax sessions I went a second time hoping it would be better. I had a different woman from the first time, but still just as awful.
don’t be fooled by the very cheap price on group on! you get what you pay for…

So apparently Ruby Salon responded back to my review a few years back, but I only just stumbled across it. They DID issue a certificate/​gift card to my school (Walt Whitman High School) and I know that because I was the one that collected it from them in the first place, and I won it during the raffle because I bought many tickets. It was for a fundraiser I was heading called the South-​East Asia Fundraiser (advised by Mrs. Martinez) that took place in 2011 during my Senior Year, which I was collecting donations and raffles for to raise money for not only flood relief, but to build schools for young girls in areas where there were no educational opportunities for them. This fundraiser had been going on for 4 years at that point, and that was the last year they ran it. I received many, many donations from many different business across Huntington, Ruby Salon included. I don’t know if/​how they keep records of this. At first I thought it was admirable and generous of them to donate at all, considering I had been turned down by a few places and I wasn’t expecting much. However, why give if you’re going to give the customer who is using it a difficult time? God, I wish I had a photo to prove they did, in fact, give me a certificate or whatever, but, silly me, I didn’t think that I would need one at the time. This was my first and last time going, and when I inquired within, the $ 25 price is what they TOLD me. Who was I to argue with that?

so i was looking for a place where they had Henna tattoo and Ruby salon came up. On Unilocal,they had the promotion of 20% off for new customers. I had an indian wedding in 2 days so i wanted to get a very beautiful henna piece on my hand. When i went, they rarely spoke english, so they were speaking in their language the entire time, i told them i wanted a small drawing on my hand to my wrist, the girl that started doing my henna was probably 16 years old, no english, so when i was trying to explain what i wanted, was a bit challenging. as she started to do my henna, it seemed to be okay, but as she kept designing it, it honestly looked like a 3 year old doodled on my hand. she was shaking so much and didnt have a sense of creativity. I wish i had a picture to show you guys but because how bad it looked i didnt even wanted to look at it myself. when i went to pay, they tried charging me $ 40 for a small design, over priced. so i told them about the 20%off from Unilocal and they had said that they had already added the coupon… lies. they knew i was getting upset about the whole situation so they just told me to pay $ 20… i literally couldve asked my 14 year old sister to do the henna and she wouldve done it a lot better. please save your money and go some where else.

First time i went for a Brazilian wax was with a groupon. The salon is beautiful; very elegant. I forgot the tech’s name i had but she seem abit ucomfortable. Im a plus size girl so maybe shes not use too that. I probably wont visit again.

I came here as a new client and was overcharged for a blow out. The stylist kept telling me throughout the process how thick my hair is when it is really very thin and not thick at all. She was trying to prepare me to overcharge me. Also she kept trying to push the products and an overpriced Brazilian straightening treatment which I was told cost 250. I have to say the place was extremely clean and orderly but it’s a shame that I was taken advantage of especially as a new client.

I recently had my hair cut at Rubys and Ruby gave me one of the best haircuts I have ever had!!! Can’t thank you enough!

Well this started out as an used Fathers Day treat. My wife wanted me to try this salon for a facial and hair cut.
Finally got around to cashing in! I was pleasantly surprised not only at their services but personal interaction making me feel very comfortable. My wife comes here but this was my first time, my haircut was right on and the facial was great. Facials are something I am not use to but it was so refreshing and well done I will do that again at Ruby’s salon.
I needed some shampoo and conditioner which I bought for their selection.

Besides having a talented staff, which is obviously a plus, the customer service was great. I came in and had a wonderful time getting my haircut.
I would recommend this salon to men and women who are looking for a great experience at a good price.

The husband and wife team that own the salon are hung up on pushing services and products, regardless whether you need them or not. You are not advised of anything because they genuinely want to help you or because you could actually benefit from it, but because it’s about them making $$$ at the end of the day. My friend fell for this scheme when she planned on going in for a $ 50 service and left spending $ 200!
I got had too. I was quoted one price for my hair and by the end of it, ending up being charged MUCH more because they «had to» do this that or another thing. I told them that’s not right but after getting no where with them, I didn’t want to make a scene and paid. Knowing I won’t be back! For the money I paid, I could’ve have gone to a Manhattan 5^th avenue salon and had my hair done by experienced stylists!
They are under qualified and over priced. Aggressive and pushy. Sleazy.
