Acura of Huntington

Bought a Honda Pilot used off the lot. They did not hassle me when we negotiated on price. Best price on a pilot I could find for 100 miles around.
Test drove twice. Kids loved the hot chocolate in the waiting room and snacks.
Whole experience took less that 1 hour.
Upon pickup the jack was missing so they got me another one on the spot.

What distinguish car dealerships from each other 1. price and service. And after a bad experience at Paragdon Acura which focused on selling, I knew I wanted to go to a dealership that will offer excellent customer service. I was a little hesitant to visit Huntington because of its low ratings on Unilocal,so I went to Rallye first. But Rallye didn’t have the car I was looking for at the price I wanted, so I decided to see what Huntington can offer.
The dealership was very nice compared to others with tall windows and high ceilings. I was looking for a CPO MDX and sat with Charles our sales person. I took a test drive and looked at several different MDXs they had in stock. It was really hard for us to settle on one because there were many to choose from.
Honestly, the cars were priced very competitively compared to other dealerships, so I didn’t really negotiate on price. Financing did try to sell us additional add ons at higher prices e. g running boards at 1k and extended warranty.
I came back a week later to get my car serviced and they were willing to replace the driver side panel because of a burn mark from the previous owner. I didn’t get a loaner even though I requested one online and was told to call next time but I didn’t really need one because they were very quick. I was done in 2.5 hours…(brakes, side panel, and heated seat button)…awesome.

Always been very happy with Acura of Huntington. I purchased my 2012 TSX in March 2012, the sales department was very helpful and nice. I told them what I wanted to spend and they met that price, simple.
I’ve been taking the car back to Acura of Huntington ever since for service and routine maintenance. The only issue I’ve ever had was that sometimes they didn’t wash the car, but I believe it was because either they had no one around to do it or the actual equipment was broken. Either way, my Acura has 86k on it and their service department has done a great job maintaining it at very reasonable prices.

This review is based on how Huntington Acura treats it’s customers, in particular Bruce and the sales manager there that day. Went to get a price on a lease for an ILX and was told that they don’t give prices out because then people use them and shop around. Said to shop around and come to them last and they will beat it but otherwise had nothing else to say to us.
Yes, Bruce actually said that, to which I replied, yes that’s the idea of «shopping,» to find the most I can get for as little as possible, to which he seemed surprised.
He then said that most dealerships will be the same price, within a 10 or 15 dollar range, as if this isn’t unusual or worth negotiating. I told him that my 10 or 15 dollars are as important to me as it is to him. And then I left.
Leased my car from Bob at Island Acura who adjusted his original price (after being told an offer we had on the table from Smithtown Acura and met it).
Bruce also said I wasn’t «his demographic» which I am unsure what that means. Probably means we aren’t uneducated consumers who pay more than we should. He’s right.

Started my new year2015 with a nightmare experience at Acura of Huntington. On Friday evening at 6.45pm walked into the dealership to look at new Suv’s.I was excited to buy my new car. The salesman Bruce showed us the MDX and RDX and convinced us that MDX is a better engineering and features than the RDX. After showing the Suv’s he takes us tothe ManagerJoe Bellavia, the Manager says we are lucky and they have the best deal today for January. He forced and pressurised me to sign a deposit and financial papers and said was important only then I would qualify, also it was closing time and they wanted me to finish signing up. As I had no experience I trustingly did as guided. We were talking in leasing a new car, when I come home I read the copy, I felt cheated in the paper was marked for a used car. the whole experience did not feel right firstly pushing me to buy MDX when I didnot want to buy the bigger car. Secondly being Aggressive and without giving me time to think forcing me to sign cheque and paperwork for getting credit approval. then cheating me get a used car. Next morning I called them to hold the dealer as I was double minded I was not comfortable in driving the MDX and I did not liked to be pushed in making my decision, the Manager said he is busy during the day and to meet him in the evening. I had so unexpected guests so I called I was unable to meet. On Monday noon I called up the dealership spoke to the salesman Bruce that I did not want to get MDX and to please refund my cheque, the salesman Bruce said that they would return it by post within the next 7 to 10
4pm the Manager Joe Bullavia calls me and starts shouting at me, said I could not change my mind and definetly not return my deposit and only give me a credit. i was shocked how confidently the Manager was fighting and Harassing me I felf intimidated by his behavior. I am very very dissapionted with such bad customer service and Bullying behavior from someone holding a senior position of a
can the Dealership afford to have such untrusting seniors, who are misusing the good will of the Dealership. I wanted other customers to Beware, and how in 2days my experience became a nightmare!!!

One has to wonder how much care they put into their service and sales, considering that they don’t care much about the accuracy of their advertising — their commercials seen on News12 every morning at 6:30 say «we are located just east of I-​10», which obviously should be route 110 vs. the interstate highway that traverses the southern tier of the United States. Very careless… does not inspire confidence… if you don’t get your advertising right, what else don’t you get right?

Very, very happy with the service at Acura of Huntington. I have an old TL that I’ve been driving since 2005 that I always have serviced at Acura of Huntington, even though I live in NYC. I’ve used Acura dealers for this vehicle across the U.S. (California & Massachusetts) and I’ve never received better service by an Acura dealer than at Acura of Huntington. The dealership and service area are immaculate, and the staff couldn’t be more accommodating, professional, and friendly (kudos to Sheila). Even though the car is old, the staff there always treat me as if I’m about to purchase their latest model (which I will do at this dealership when I“m forced to give up my navy blue ’05 TL).

This past weekend I purchased a 2010 Acura MDX Advance from Acura of Huntington. I would like to start off by saying I am very pleased with the purchase and my parents couldn’t be happier with their new SUV. I would like to extend a special Thank You to Karen Salaun for making sure everything was taken care of with the paperwork and the few extras we had requested to be added to the vehicle (roof rack, all-​season mats, and wheel locks) prior to our arrival. She kept great correspondence with us from the day we struck the deal over the phone until the day of pickup, by the time I was able to match a name to a face I felt as if I had known her for years.
Where I decided to give the dealership a (2) on customer service lays in the hands the Raymond Penza the GM of Acura of Huntington. Our story is not unusual but similar to what many Americans do across the country when purchasing a vehicle «Go for the best deal» if it means driving the extra mile or 500 miles then so be it. I struck a deal on the MDX Wednesday evening and made the deposit all over the phone, I personally hadn’t seen the car or test driven it but I know Acura being already an owner of a ’07 TL. I guess the frustration started that night with the inflexibility of the Ray not extending the final sale/​pick-​up day past Saturday 5pm. There were reports of bad weather coming up the east coast for the weekend but it was either finalize by Saturday or «We’ll sell the car Sunday if someone wants to buy it.» My father and I set off from southwest Virginia Friday after work and what would have taken 7 hours took 11 with the weather the way it was. On the day of pickup we had an appointment at 10:30AM with Karen and upon arrival I had asked if it would be possible to have my TL ran through the service dept. for a wash with all the salt that had gotten on it. Service was open until 12-​noon on Saturday and we had finalized everything by 11:15AM. When I asked as to why it was an unreasonable request to have my car washed after a 500 mile trek to buy a $ 40K car Ray’s reasoning was «Service was closed, limited staff, and they weren’t in the car washing business»
I was quite taken back by how quick he was to answer and how unprofessional his approach was on the request. When we walked back into the dealership to get his business card it was at that time where he was ready to offer a «wash voucher» for a local business Acura of Huntington does business with. We respectfully declined the voucher since the damage was already done. Service goes a long way, whether visiting to buy a new car, used car, or in for a simple oil change. There’s dozens of clients that walk into a dealership everyday and we’re all just a number. BUT Acura of Huntington and Ray Penza should be treating every client like #1. I feel that by coming from such a distance our business was not valued of that of a local.
Side Note: Should have disclosed grazed bumper online or over phone (Noted: This pristine MDX, online). We know used cars are not perfect but this is an important aspect especially if the buyer will NOT see vehicle until day of pick-​up. Part of the 150-​point inspection/​reconditioning should include complete owner’s manual with access codes for navigation and audio/​video systems in its proper casing which we did not receive and they did not replace. Missing Valet key, when I asked for it I was informed the previous owner never returned it? The MDX had not been detailed inside at all, I found a Home Depot receipt, drink stains on seats, and ice scraper from previous owner, and previous owner’s contact numbers were all listed in handsfree link phone bank. Bottom line from Wednesday to Saturday the sales and service team had plenty of time to address these issues.
UPDATE 2÷12÷13:
I want to give an update of my review from two weeks ago. Shortly after posting the review about Acura of Huntington I was contacted by Abbas Rajani — Customer Care Specialist from the Burns Group, Owners of Acura of Huntington. Abbas emailed me and scheduled a conference call between my father and I to discuss the problems we had. He was very friendly, understanding and listened to our concerns about our recent experience at the dealership. Although he couldn’t take back our experience he assured us that he would be speaking with the owners and promised to make the situation right and he did. Within a couple of days Abbas had an answer ready for us, and was able to provide the proper manuals/​booklets for the MDX, valet key, and had the grazed bumper taken care of. This exemplifies true customer service and I’m glad the Burns Group and Acura of Huntington took care of us and made everything right.

Brand new dealership. Immaculate. Very friendly staff. Free wash/​vacuum with service. And check air, oil, fluids, etc.
