Ballroom Of Huntington

The dance area is once you walk in. It’s a big studio looking place and the clerk is in the front entrance. There’s a big window overlooking the streets.
This is a nice place to meet very friendly people and learn how to dance. They have a few lessons a day but they really teach you for longer than what they say the lesson is. It’s supposed to be 45 minutes but I learned how to dance for an hour and a half.
The crowd is very small and the place is HUGE. There’s about 6 – 7 couples and one teacher who really knows how to get his dance on.
The dancers are very encouraging and even if you make mistakes they will correct you. You get to switch partners every once in a while.
This is a great place to learn how to dance. Just a bit of advice, before you come, dress at least moderately nicely. I felt so embarrassed when I walked in with my jeans and vanz and casual tshirt to find out that everyone is at least 40 years old with dress shirts and trousers/​dress pants and leather shoes. Don’t make the same mistake I did!
Oh and bring a partner!

Came here on a LivingSocial deal with a friend several months ago. We got something like 4 – 5 Argentine Tango lessons for $ 35 and because there was such a sparse crowd, we got lots of personal attention. Dominik was a good instructor and I’d be happy to come back here again — just wish it were more conveniently located.

I was in New York recently and some friends invited me to dance. I had never been to a dance studio like this one and I had no idea what to expect. Wow! I absolutely loved it. The dance instructors were so welcoming and fantastic dancers. I learned a lot and now I am trying t get my husband to go with me to my girlfriends dance studio on the west coast. Next time I am in New York, I am definitely visting this studio. I highly recommend it. You won’t be disappointed.

the dance instructors at The Ballroom of Huntington are excellent, but unfortunately, they stink. the owner told me she *advises* the instructors to wear perfumes and colognes (!) so as to spare the students… other…shall we say, *more natural* scents… that they might find still less agreeable, since many of the instructors come straight in from their day jobs and don’t have time to shower in between. (that’s right: it’s a little slice of 18^th-​century Paris, right in downtown Huntington!)
all of which means that in order to study here i’d need to wear a gas mask to every class to avoid an allergic reaction (breathing perfumes for more than about five seconds results in me developing a migraine on the spot). it’s a damn shame, because their technique is outstanding — they make learning easy.
anybody know if there’s a fragrance-​free dance school with such excellent instructors anywhere on the island?

My fiancée tirelessly called around to different dance studios to find a good place to take ballroom dance lessons for our wedding.
He knew he found the right place after speaking to Margo, the receptionist. She is the warmest and sweetest person you’d ever come across. When we went by the studio a week later to meet everyone, Denise and Dennis were just as welcoming.
We’ve been taking lessons for about 6 months now, and we’ve gone from non-​dancers to being really comfortable on the dance floor. We know about 5 different dances at an intermediate level.
We’ve taken both group and private lessons with a few different instructors, but we have really great chemistry with Charlie. He’s quirky, kind and a bit old-​fashioned, and he always knows how to help us learn and laugh.
