Kerber’s Farm

So glad Kerbers is opened again. Love all the yummy home cooked goodies… and just to see that property in use is great…

I wanted to love this place but I didn’t even like it. I was at Kerber’s over the summer and immediately noticed all the flies. They were on the pies. The whole place seemed unsanitary to me. Maybe things have improved. I hope so and will check them out again in the spring and update this review. The other thing I noticed is that they have a rooster with their hens. Are the eggs that everyone is eating fertilized? Ew. I am all for small business, farming, local food but this place just grossed me out. Again, I hope things change because I would love to be a customer.

Holy Moly! Eggs and cheddar on the cheddar buttermilk biscuit! Just yummy. (one thing — wished it wasn’t microwaved, but it’s still good.)

I drive 40min round trip just for their cheddar biscuit egg sandwiches. absolutely the best!

I was planning an after church bit of refreshment from this cheese shop located in Port Jefferson. I ordered a half a pound each of Monterey Jack; Swiss and Munster. I served it with crackers, fresh strawberries; blueberries and red and green grapes. I served coffee, tea, and sodas with it and everyone raved about how fresh and tasty the cheese was and how it went well with the fruit! Looking forward to doing it again, but would pick some more interesting choices and also go in person to dine on a wine and cheese pairing platter! Good job Le Ches

This is a TRUE 4.5 long island establishment! I’ve been coming across some places out here that just doesn’t live up to the Unilocal stars, but Kerber’s deserves the kudos and is truly a 4 star niche! The baked goods are super fresh and the seating area is very cute as you get to see the chicken and the farm in the back. There’s some fresh picked produce too if you want the small «farmer’s market» feel. The kerber’s breakfast special sandwich comes on a cheddar biscuit, which some may love and rave about. I’m not a fan of cheddar biscuits and I’m still not, but… I know my brownies and Kerber’s makes a delicious fudge brownie. It’s huge and you probably need to run a marathon afterwards, but the chocolatey goodness, the fudgy gooieness is unparalleled. Thank God you can now get the goodness at Bergdorf Goodman if you don’t want to make the trek to LI. However, Edible magazine called Kerber’s a destination farmer’s market and yes, that it is! And hopefully, you’ll agree it’s worth the trip!

So after having this little kitschy farm bookmarked for what feels like an eternity I finally made it.
Enter Kerber’s Farm. It’s cute it’s very down home and I feel like I should’ve been somewhere either out east on the North Fork or down in the country in North Carolina. We walk in and it’s a little busy but nothing out of the ordinary. We check out the little coop they have in the back. It’s cute. The overall place is just very cute. We go back in and decide we’re gonna get a few goodies to take home and sample.
We got the following:
Full Sized Chicken Pot Pie: A+ — quite possibly thee best chicken pot pie I’ve had that wasn’t homemade. It was so filling. Pro tip: if you like gravy with your pot pie pick yourself up a jar of chicken gravy and you got a kick ass meal. Maybe add some cranberry sauce. I know it’s not turkey but hell… I love me some cranberry goodness!
Mini Plain Mac & Cheese: You know… I’m kinda disappointed. I expected full on cheese pasta oooey gooeyness that screamed «Hi I’m Mac & Cheese and I’m bad for you!» instead it was a lot left to be desired. I think if I wanted to give it a whirl again I’d go for the Pancetta.
Now desserts!!!
Mini S’mores Pie: Quite good but couldn’t eat too much of it cause I would get a stomach ache. My stomach is weird like that I know.
Mini Key Lime Pie: this bad boy I was looking forward to in the worst way. Unfortunately it was mostly crust and I got a little hint of key lime. Such is life.
Mini Coconut Cream Pie: Again this was crust city and some coconut.
Lemon Square: Too sour for me. My mom said it was ok. Nothing special.
So overall… Would I be back? Yes I want to try the breakfast and I would absolutely get another full size Chicken Pot Pie to take home with me for dinner.
Is it worth it? Yeah if you’re into cute kitschy farm like places.

This place is a gem! If you live in Long Island or you’re visiting family in the area or you’re on your way to the Hamptons, you should check out this working farm and provisions stand. You can shop for produce of course but if you’re just passing by then this is a great stop for breakfast or lunch or even snacks in the afternoon. We had lobster rolls and some other snacks and everything was delicious! A big bonus is getting to sit in view of the farm. It makes for such a serene and enjoyable meal. Their pies are supposed to be great and judging from the mini key lime pie I had, I can bet they are. I’d definitely want to come back again if I had the chance.

Came on Sunday Labor Day weekend 2015 and what a relaxing and delicious experience. We had the egg sandwich on cheddar biscuit with bacon, avocado & melted cheddar and it is just as described by everyone, amazing! We ate out back, washed everything down with a couple of ice coffees.
Also got some fresh corn & a couple of individual pies, key lime & apple for the road.
The entire staff was friendly & efficient, we will definitely be back, well worth the trip from Merrick or anywhere else.

This place is just super fantastic.
If you haven’t been and you’re in the area it’s a must go.
During the summertime the Lobster Roll is certainly the star, it’s one of the best in the area.
But the real star here is their cheddar biscuit breakfast sandwich. It’s to die for, literally as I’d hate to know the calorie count lol. It may be one of the if not THE best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had. I dinged them a star because they lack a sufficient amount of tables to accommodate even the quickest of eaters considering the amount of customers they get.
Hit them up in the summer for a great lobster roll but the cheddar biscuit breakfast sandwich is a MUST try all year. Do it. Do it.

Super cute farm we came across. Not a large menu but what we ate was delish! Egg sandwich on a fluffy crossaint, lemon scone, mini cherry pie and oatmeal raisin cookie. we were total fatties and actually didn’t feel gross and bloated afterwards (probably because everything is fresh and homemade). Leashed dogs allowed to sit outside– can’t wait to come back on a nice day with our pup when it’s not a rainy day.

Wake up, go to Kerber’s, order an egg sandwich on a biscuit and you will hate yourself for having ever liked the one at McDonald’s.
The biscuit is hot and fresh with a good cheddar crust on top. I recommend avocado over cheese since the biscuit already provides the cheesy goodness, but look over your options and build it any way you wish.
While you’re waiting for your sandwich, peruse the display of baked goods and you will eventually give in to the temptation of the buttery bliss of a coconut scone or chocolate chip muffin. Share it with a friend so you only feel half as guilty.
They also serve lunch (which I haven’t had yet) and have some indoor and outdoor seating if you want to stay.

Cool place, but the food is only okay. We hung out and had lunch at their outside seating area. Had a spread of lobster rolls, roast corn, chicken pot pie, pulled pork pot pie, and mac and cheese. The lobster rolls were pretty good, as was the corn. The chicken pot pies were meh and the mac and cheese was WAY too salty. Had a few items for dessert and they were on the better side of things.
Very picturesque, though.

Wow! I’ve lived here my whole life and driven down Pulaski a million times and never knew this place existed. On a recommendation from a friend, we stopped and got egg sandwiches and iced coffee. The sandwiches were out of this world. Fresh eggs, a variety of toppings to choose from and all on a ridiculously yummy cheddar biscuit. The only downside was that it was really hot outside so we had to sit in the car, but trust me, the food was so good we didn’t mind. Iced coffee was good too. We didn’t get any baked goods, but they looked impressive as well. They had pies, muffins, cookies, etc. I’ll definitely be back again. Also, service was quick and friendly. Didn’t even have to wait on a Sunday morning!

While we were out tooling around on Easter Sunday, we went to look for a place to see some farm animals and perhaps buy some fresh eggs and such. One such farm was closed for a private family gathering but not Kerber’s Farm.
Ample and easily accessible parking is aplenty either in front or on the side of the building. While we were there they were preparing for an egg hunt for the wee ones. Colored eggs were everywhere on the grounds so each child was sure to make out like a bandit.
There is a gift shop that is open during the season to peruse and when you’re looking for something rustic and eclectic, give them a gander to see what you can find.
As for the food in the main Deli/​Dining area, Wow! I was hungry for an egg sandwich and a good cup of Jo. I asked them to make me something they are good at, and they did not disappoint. Made to order and fresh. Hot right off the grill. So good and filling!
While you wait have a look at the display cases— whoa! Great looking pies and all sorts of yummy stuff that will make your mouth water. You may actually catch a bit of drool so watch yourself.
Although they have only chickens to look at, you know the kids will love to watch them scratch around. All kids of all ages (including the mad Russian) love to watch animals do what they do. If you’re in the area, do come buy and pay them a visit.

My wife and I have been meaning to try this place out for awhile. Well, yesterday we finally got around to having breakfast here. We both had the same thing, the Kerbers Breakfast Sandwich. 2 eggs, ham and cheese on a cheddar biscuit. The sandwich on a whole was very good. The biscuit was baked to perfection and delicious with just the right amount of cheddar baked on top.
They have a selection of baked goods as well, brownies, cookies, scones, pies and more. All looked pretty good but can’t comment on as we didn’t have any. Maybe next time.
I will definitely be back to try some of there other items, especially since it’s pretty close to home. The Mac and Cheese pie looks awesome, and the pics I’ve seen of the lobster roll look great. That means at least 2 more visits. :)

After months of driving by and wondering, I finally stopped in to this adorable farmhouse. Once I stepped through the door it felt like I left Huntington and entered a quaint New England country store. Everything was decorated perfectly to match the ambiance with posters of yachts on the walls and with jars of fresh jams and kitchen knick knacks for sale. The counter houses glass cases showing the most amazing homemade desserts and an assortment of large and mini pies ranging from savory chicken pot pies to coconut crème to s’mores to Mac and cheese.
I got the egg sandwich and holy wow, it was fresh eggs on a huge cheddar biscuit. Not exactly the healthy breakfast choice but soooo stinkin good. Anyone else obsessed with red lobster biscuits? This is the breakfast sandwich for you.
Can’t wait to continue stopping in and trying everything on their menu.

Just payed this cute little shop this morning for some breakfast and holy cow!
I went with the signature cheddar biscuit with ham, egg, and cheese and it is so good. The shop itself is so cute and offer a variety of breakfast goods, pies, desserts and all around yumness. I also got a pulled pork pie which I will be trying for lunch but coulnd’t wait to review based on just the egg sandwich.
if your nearby or passing by stop and grab a bite. It is prettyyyy prettyyy good!

Once again I am astonished that such a place as Kerber’s Farm could escape my attention until now. This shall not happen again.
I had the Kerber’s special breakfast sandwich. That’s ham, two eggs, and American cheese on a cheddar cheese biscuit. I thought it was excellent. My wife felt it could be better if the biscuit was rewarmed before serving. I am still a little confused as to how you can put American cheese on a cheddar cheese biscuit?
So four stars, because while I wouldn’t pass up Kerber’s if I was in the neighborhood, I probably wouldn’t go way out of my way for it either.
I will update this review when I go back and get a chance to try the scones and the pancetta macaroni & cheese. That looked pretty good, and Tracy’s review says it awesome, and she knows what she talking about.

Wow, driving this back road since the 90s with the last remaining farms across the street. I have never stopped here being slightly aware it was once a local poultry farm.
Thanks Unilocal for cluing me in. for the past year it has become a quaint country café with bakery, bringing all the charm of the east end right here to the Nassau/​Suffolk border. Live chickens out back, pets now! & parakeets. Bakers in the back baking all kinds of fun, coconut cream pies, rhubarb! large and small, pot pies, gorgeous scones. The lemon scones were perfect. Pecan bars way too much corn syrup, pulled pork not a good choice. they nail country but not southern. I know, my best friend is from Georgia and shows off especially during football season.
What is that coming out steaming hot from the kitchen? Mac N Cheese with pancetta. naaa. next time. wait! wrap it up! Would have been another one that got away story that was close. It looked and was AMAZING. But not to be eaten lightly lol had half which was definitely bad behavior… drove over to best friend in the next town and gave him the rest. LOL. Take this please. He didn’t think it was as amazing as I did. so you’ll have to see for yourself. It was. I vouch for the mac n cheese. and lemon scone. count on them being the most amazing empty calories around. If you do want something guilt free. they have grilled chicken lean Panini’s.
The first day I was there. Bob Dylan songs were playing. the next time I forget. the time after that. The Carpenter’s etc. Throwback songs are a definite plus.
So this place is cool, literally as the outdoor seating is unheated. but sunny and awesome — more practical on sunny days. And the amazing creativity from the chef is really fun. Is everything perfect? No. But that is half the fun, the other is sitting out back with the chickens. Love this place. I’m moving in.
