Grand annual Long Island festival in Heckscher Park in Huntington. Plenty of food stalls, vendors of all sorts, games, rides and live entertainment. Nice to come spend an afternoon. Better to come in the evenings for the live music. Only complaint is parking. The lot I normally park in was discovered.

Love this local fest! It’s a bit smaller than the other boys(Oyster Fest) but it’s one of the only festivals where you can chill outside and really enjoy the day. Here’s a quick rundown… Pros: * BEERTENT w/TV’s(football, baseball playoffs) * Usually some local bands playing on the stage. * Fresh oyster stand * Usually still warm out * Park is beautiful Cons: * The food is always a bit of a let down. It’s typical fair food. Doesn’t look like any local joints do pop-ups. * Lots of rando biz tents inside the park * $ 8 brews will eventually hurt your wallet * It’s pretty popular, so it can be tough to find seating Overall, a really good time and I suggest you check it out, especially if you have a fam. Protip: post up at a table with a view of a TV in the beer tent. Make a friend go on food runs.

Great for the kids. A lot of rides. Arts and crafts. Food is decent. Not the best festival food I have had. All in all very worth a trip.

I came on the first day of the fair and wasn’t not impressed. I was expecting more of a fair, with booths with a wide variety of items but instead it looked like all of the carnivals I have been to. That being said I do understand that companies were setting up later in the day but I was still disappointed.

I have to respectfully disagree with Franco on this one, yes there’s terrible congestion in town and parking is a mess if you don’t live close… But this is one of the better fairs offered on Long Island and is only really second to the Oyster Fest in Oyster Bay. There’s plenty to do here, tons of greasy foods to choose from to later give heartburn and such. As well it always offers me a decent excuse to get out for the day and people watch while eating a Mozz-A-repa. A must do if you live in the area.

Fall festival that rots. I have to admit, I am biased here as I used to live on one of the streets that the fine folks at the Chamber of Commerce closed for this 3-day crapfest. It is the usual Long Island street fair, only larger than most and it does attract a boat load of Sheeple for whatever reason. To make it worse, they planted some band that played music from Peru ALL day long on my corner so I had to hear this flute going all day — it was enough to make you scream. So– if you like to buy junkie arts and crafts, and eat ears of corn while walking around, this is the place for you.
