Had a tasty meal here last night and boy was the place packed. We didn’t have a reservation but now I know that on a weekend night I will need to plan ahead. Thankfully, there were 2 tables upstairs open. We were in the mood for good old fashioned Mexican food, nothing fancy and that’s what we got. I had the Enchiladas Huesteca with rice and black beans and my boyfriend, the Steak Quesadillas, which were just delicious. Before that we had a medium order of Guacamole. They don’t make it table side upstairs but it still tasted fresh. We had margaritas on the rocks with one of their Silver tequilas that I love, Tres generaciones and they were excellent. The place was loud but I guess that’s to be expected on a busy Saturday night. On a night when a place is packed, you truly get to see the strengths or weaknesses of a restaurant. And I have to give kudos to our waiter and the staff at Quetzalcoatl for handling it all well. They were running around like chickens with their heads cut off, but as a result managed to get us our cocktails and food all in a timely manner as if they place was used to so much traffic. We were truly impressed. Our waiter was amazing as well. He was so focused on getting our order right and check on us or having a bus boy or girl clean our table, even though we could see he was frazzled. At the end of our meal, he apologized for any time we had to wait, which really wasn’t much at all. I just regret not getting his name to post.

The food here was good. I had a combination plate of enchiladas and tacos. It was very good. The atmosphere is fun.

Just a few words: filet mignon mole. Yes. Unfortunately, I’ve found other items to be dry or underseasoned. I wish they had some slightly more traditional dishes — this feels a bit like fusion and I like my Mexican food traditional. And a bit less expensive.

Came here on a Sat. night with a party of 3. There was a wait but it was definitely fair for a Saturday. The host will have you wait at the bar, which is nice to get a drink while you wait — plus the bartender actually seemed to be enjoying himself. We got seated at a [wobbly] table in a makeshift spot. Again, I guess that’s fair for a weekend. The service was less than mediocre. It was very hard to understand the waiter. The app came out with our dinners despite our request for the app to come first. Also waited far over 20 minutes for that. Unlimited chips when seated(thumbs up). Salsa was also good but not chunky. The nachos were oddly prepared(lettuce on top, barely any Guac, and a Parmesan looking cheese sprinkled). We came to the conclusion that maybe that is authentic. Not for me. — Got a grilled veggie quesadilla. That was by far the best part! Tasted fresh and I would definitely order that as an entrée again. And yes the rumors are true, free app and dessert(app was taquitos, very good! And the dessert was a super crispy/crunchy churro in the shape of a snowflake with whipped creAm, also good if you’re expecting the crunch) If takeout is an option, I would go again for a quesadilla. However, I don’t think I can handle the poor service at a dine-in again!

A++ I’d give this place 10 stars! The food is always great, the service is always on point and you never leave here hungry. This is my go to place in Huntington for fine Mexican food and in all honesty I wouldn’t go anywhere else! Worth the drive from anywhere on the island and don’t forget the guacamole!!! Very diverse menu, something for everybody in your dining party. 2 thumbs up, everytim

I’ve been back here so many times since my initial review in 2013, they deserve and update and upgrade to 5 stars. Every meal in consistent, everyone we bring here has a great time and every time I leave I head home and start marinating beef for the next 3 days! Homemade fajitas rule, but anytime you have great Mexican that makes you want more for half a week straight is just excellent in my book. The staff are very friendly and the restaurant itself is very clean; bathrooms are immaculate. You will notice all the staff busy touching things up for service and everyone seems to have smile on. It’s a very comfortable place to be and is one of my favorites in the area.

Good fusion Spanish foods. Mostly Mexican, many different dishes to choose from. Really good margaritas,(get a pitcher if your party is 2 or more!) staff is friendly. They gave us free apps and dessert … Great place for larger parties too. They have 2 floors and live music when we went on a weekend(maybe during the week too?)

One of my favorite places to go to in Huntington. This place is so underrated and I’m ok with that. If you go for dinner, they always give you a free appetizer & dessert with your meal. Their food is constantly delicious. Their drinks are also amazing. If you like michelada’s, this place is where you’ll want to quench your thirst for one. Always a staple in my book. Highly recommended.

Very solid experience in the heart of downtown Huntington. Great ambience and very friendly staff make for a truly enjoyable meal. Remember to check in to receive a free glass of wine or a beer. A nice bar toward the back to seat about ten or twelve. A mix of tables up front to seat parties of two four or six and possibly more. About the food: Very solid salsa that’s both fresh and comes with an endless supply of chips. Tortilla soup was served hot and warmed up the mad Russian on a chilly January day. The city tacos– just plain awesome. I chose carnitas, pollo, and carbon… Pork, chicken, and steak for you gringos. $ 12.95 for three of your choosing and come with a side of beans and rice. We look forward to coming back for dinner and to try some more of their authentic favors. Very solid indeed.

This place was the bomb dot com. I’ve recently been eating every enchilada I can get my hands on and theirs was decent… I’ve had better but it was still very good. 4 stars because of their service, delicious guac and an app AND dessert on the house!!! What a treat! I was there during the week so it wasn’t crowded and I was able to have a nice quiet meal with some friends. Would def recommend!

My mom’s favorite restaurant to celebrate her birthday(2 years in a row and counting lol) Service is always so welcoming and accommodating, as soon as we sit down theres the complimentary appetizer, a quick bite to eat as you look over the menu. Red Sangria is delicious, not to sweet we get a pitcher to split. We both get the combo, 3 items(taco, burrito, or chimichanga) all fresh and not soggy. The live music(thursday-saturday nights I believe) really makes you feel like you are down in Mexico and very entertaining, but you are also still able to hear each other talk! When it’s time for dessert they bring it over with a candle in it for the birthday girl, let her wear the sombrero and the music entertainer sings Happy Birthday and all attention is on us lol Good times, full bellies & happy birthdays all around :)

Nice Mexican cuisine. Great variety and very reasonable prices. The ropa vieja was very good and had a nice spicy kick to it but they could have given a larger portion of refried beans. The tamales under«Platos Prehispanicos» was also very good. The sangria was not too good but they had a lot of fruit in the pitcher and I ended up enjoying the apples more than the sangria. They had a guy playing guitar including some Greek tunes which was odd. He was good but too loud and it was difficult having a conversation. It looks like a great place to have a birthday dinner. There were at least 3 tables celebrating their birthday so we got to hear Happy Birthday to you sung several times. Birthday boy or girl gets to wear a sombrero.

Was just okay. Salsa was watery. I didn’t like it much but others did. There was a free appetizer, basically refried beans, cheese and tortilla chips– quite bland. Tequila shrimp appetizer was not bad. Chicken wings were crisp, came with a very hot sauce on the side, probably too hot. I had the filet poblano. I’m no butcher but that was no filet. It was some type of rolled up skirt streak. The steak itself and the sauce were good. However they really did not go together well. I liked their smokey poblano rice but the rest of the table did not. Ladies liked the guac. Will try someplace else next time.

I am fan but didn’t live up to expectations. The service is spotty but the drinks were good. We had basic margeritas and they were tasty. As soon as we were seated for our reservations, we recieved chips and salsa. Salsa though is way to watery and hard to pick up with chips because the lack of actual tomato. We shared between 5 of us the large guacamole which was smaller than we expected. Free taquiotos were given which was a nice touch. I knew we were going to get something based on other reviews on Unilocal. No major complaints with entrees. I tried 3 different Mexico city tacos which are easily enough to fill you up. The chorizo was the best one. The other entrees the table got were huge and easily worth the price which is expensive but cheaper than besitos down the block. The free desert was not good at all. Hard over fried cinnamon dusted things with flat whip cream. My girlfriend informed me that what ever they called it was wrong and in fact the desert name is usually like a soft pillow donuts. I would come back again just because the food was pretty good but maybe not for dinner.

Wow wow wow ! What an amazing experience. Went here on a Friday night with my sister and was blown away at the experience we had. This is a fun, delicious, authentic Mexican Restaurant. Live music because it was the weekend, friendly, accommodating staff and yummy yummy food! Margaritas fresh and tasty! Complementary chips and fresh salsa, complementary potato taquitos, and a complementary dessert(will be in pictures later). Went with my sister who had«the best» chimichangas she’s ever had and I had the arroz con pollo! The portion was too big that I had to take half of it home. And I’m so guilty of eating the rest of it later that night(don’t regret it!) Me and my sister were SO pleased that we can’t wait to come back! We felt like we were in someone’s home. Even tho the place was busy and packed, the hospitality was incredible – you don’t get that often in a restaurant anymore.

We’ve been here once before and had a very similar experience. We ordered the Mignon Poblano and the Tequila Pasta as our entrees, steak toastadas as an appetizer, and sangria and Mexican breeze for drinks. The drinks came first– quick, cold, and delicious! We got chips and salsa which were great followed by a delicious appetizer that was on the house(small taquitos). Then came the toastadas which were amazing. Next up were the entrées. I enjoyed one of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten and my fiancée enjoyed her tequila pasta(ok so I had some too and it was great!). When we were done we were given a dessert on the house which consisted of two small cakes that tasted like cinnamon toast crunch. It was a very nice way to end the meal. The ambiance is very nice and we had the pleasure of sitting by a live musician who played some great music. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a nice night out and likes quality Mexican food.

The food here is very good but if you come on a weekend be prepared for a hot loud cramped dinner! I’ve been here for lunch during the week a few times and it was great, nice waiters and great food. They even have vegetarian options and gave us delicious rice pudding for dessert. BUT, I was there on a Saturday night and a completely different experience! The food was still good, the carrot soup is the most awesome soup I have ever had! I can live on it. So the restaurant was slam packed, I felt like a canned sardine. It was very hot in there and the waiters were definitely overworked and couldn’t deal with it. It was also very very noisy. And then a man started playing guitar and singing thus making the noise level go up even more. When my dinner came, the waiters thumb was in it which grossed me out. The other thing that pissed me off was that I did a Unilocal check in that earned me a free drink. When I showed the coupon to the waiter, he asked if we wanted another beer. I told him no and tried to explain that it was a coupon. He looked confused and clicked on it and then walked away. When we got the bill, the $ 6 was not taken off. We just paid and left, we had to get out of that crazy sauna!

Had a great experience here with my best friend! It is in a great location in Hutington village! Food overall was awesome. Nothing to complain about. They even gave us a free appetizer, dessert, and drinks… no idea why. We ended up with a ton of food… However it was enjoyable. they even had some live music playing, which was really neat. Our waiters were amazing, truly kind, and always available to us.

Every time I have been here I have been given the royal treatment, their service is superior to any other place in town. And their food is always great. If you are looking for authentic Mexican fare THIS is the place to get it. I always get their Mole Poblano, it’s soooo good. Last time the chicken was so tender I didnt even need a knife to cut it and the mole is fantastico!!! As well as the fine food and service the menu has lots to pick from, their prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is nice. A true gem in the heart of Huntington. When you check in on Unilocal there is a free glass of wine offer! Woohoo!

Unfortunately I have yet to find a great Mexican place for food. One evening I decided to venture into Huntington to try this place out hopeful that I would get my fix of Mexican. The décor is neat and clean. The service was good — offered my party and I an appetizer dish on the house. The food — what can I say? if you like your food drenched in melted cheese then this is the place for you. It was very heavy and bland. Portion sizes more than adequate to fill you up.

I came here on a Saturday night around 8:30PM. The restaurant wasn’t fully packed but there was definitely a loud crowd. We were seated immediately. There is additional seating upstairs and at the time, a live musician playing by the bar. The environment was certainly that of a party, with a relaxed atmosphere. The waitress brought chips with salsa to the table shortly after delivering our waters. Salsa was spicy, but good. I ordered the chicken tamales, my friend the appetizer proportioned quesadillas. Order took 15 – 20 minutes from the kitchen. Tamales were very hot, came with pico di gallo, sour cream, refried beans, and rice. Very good dish, chicken was a little over done but went well with the corn meal and pico di gallo. Really enjoyed all the flavors on the plate which melded perfectly in harmony. Surprised by the complimentary rice pudding that came at the end of the meal. In general I’m not a huge fan of rice pudding but this was the best rice pudding I’ve ever had. Definitely would recommend.
