Red Roof Inn

Pleasant stay in a pretty clean motel while driving home on a road trip. I slept well, but 5 days later had what appears to be a fraudulent charge on my card post from this motel, which was more than double the cost of the actual stay. For the total price including questionable charges, I could have stayed at the nicest hotel in Huntington for 2 nights.

The staff is good, but it seems that management is neglecting the building. I stayed here 2 years ago and it was in fine shape, now it is clean but in need of maintenance. The toilet was loose and the mattress is worn-​out. The shower rod was bent and hanging loose, both the mirrors in the room are scratched and in dire need of replacement.
I would steer clear of this place.

This is a no frills hotel. Had minor issue with water in toilet running constantly. They offered to move us to a new room, I just fixed it by reseating the flapper. Easier than moving family of four. Gave us plenty of towels. Staff is super friendly.

Made reservations online. Got there and the lady at the front desk was so helpful & friendly. She answered all our questions, gave us our key card and directed us to our room. Was a little nervous after reading some of the other reviews. The room was clean, no smoke smell, and no mold, I was happy with that. I wasn’t happy with the noise the toilet made when I flushed or how loud the exhaust fan was in the bathroom. I killed three stink bugs the first night and maybe one every night after that. My stay was for seven days. But for the price compared to others in the area it was ok.

We stayed here to break up a road trip and to our surprise we were extremely impressed. Most low budget hotels aren’t this nice. We were greeted by a very friendly front desk employee and given directions to our room. When traveling across country a speedy check in is much appreciated. The hotel is also not only dog friendly but they do not charge a pet fee and don’t hassle you about your pet when checking in which is a huge bonus in my book. After entering the room I was really impressed with how clean our room was and how nicely everything was presented. The AC was on and quiet, it had a flat screen tv, free wifi, a microwave, fridge, a huge comfy king size bed and a nice desk area with a chair that faced the TV. We would defiantly stay here again if passing through.

Stopped here for one night to break up a road trip. It was a bit hidden so it took us a minute to figure out how to get to it. Check in was a breeze but when I was at the counter, I saw that they had NO wifi. Now, I know that sounds like something trivial but when your website advertises FREE WIFI, I expect FREE WIFI! Anyway, when we walked into our room it was pretty warm and muggy. They didn’t have the AC on at all so it took a few hours to get the humidity under control. And speaking of the AC, it was SO loud! My husband got up in the middle of the night to mess with it and try to make it a little quieter. He ended up folding a towel and wedging into the front cover which made it a little better. I am well aware that this is a «no frills» hotel but when you advertise at least one frill (free wifi), BACK IT UP! Needless to say, we did NOT stay here on the way back and have no intention of ever returning.

The people working the front desk were very nice. They gave me extra towels at the time of check-​in. The hotel room was very clean and updated! Flat screen tv! The king size bed was pretty comfortable but the pillows were like rocks. The desk area was convenient. Was able to get a really hot shower in the updated bathroom. The wifi worked just fine and I was in the furthest room away from the office. The A/​C and heat worked great. They’re extremely pet friendly which is what I needed. Lastly, I called and was able to get a better rate than what the website showed and they give a military discount on top of that!
I would definitely stay here again but bring my own pillow next time.

I stay every year in January for two nights because a company I work for pays for it. I was very disappointed there was no wi-​fi at all the 48 hours I wss there this year (2014). Called front desk for an update on the 2^nd day and there was no answer. The bathroom design is awful. The commode and shower basically in a closet. I may pay above what employer is paying fo stay somewhere else next year.

OK Red Roof, recently remodeled, but they didn’t quite get the smoke smell out of the rooms… not impressed. No breakfast… WiFi was barely adequate.
