On the way to Publix, we spotted the Beignet Café. Having had beignets in New Orleans on several occasions, we wanted to try out the new restaurant with beignets and café au lait. I had had beignets in several locations and none of them came close to the ones at Café du Monde. We were hoping the ones at the Beignet Café would be as good. I cannot say they were as good as Café du Monde but they were very good. They were served hot and with powdered sugar and very light. The texture was perfect. The beignets at Café du Monde were sweeter or had a touch of cinnamon which were a little different but these were very good. I would not hesitate to try them again when passing by on the Winchester road location. The café au lait brought on a light buzz after consuming a cup – pretty much as it did at Café du Monde. Perhaps it is the chicory in the drink. Topping was good, good taste, perhaps not as much milk in it as in some others but I would definitely order it again on our next trip here. «Jen» was our waitress who was soft-spoken and very nice. She brought our order as soon as it was ready and that was exactly as we had asked for it. The décor was also very nice at the Beignet Café. The art had the look of the New Orleans area but much cleaner. Walking around New Orleans I am always looking out for the next rat to appear on the street. Fortunately, Beignet Café has passed up on some of the atmosphere of the New Orleans area. For those with a craving for beignets, the Beignet Café is a good bet!

We are here while traveling through Huntsville. This is a nice change from the chain restaurants and has some yummy Louisiana dishes like egg bakes, dirty grits, French toast on French bread, beignets and café du Monde.

I went and odered the shrimp and grits, When I saw that the shrimp were microscopic I immediately wanted to give it back but thought I’d give it a try. Well I was totally disappointed. It was a waste of money and the Beignets were a butter roll turned upside down with powder sugar on top. It is apparent that the owners have not been to New Orleans.

One word for this place DELICIOUS!!! I was beyond impressed. The food was good. Its small but very cute. Our server was amazing. I tried the dirty grits and a small order of beignets. Both were good and it is enough to share if you wanted to. The beignets were so soft and fluffy. Just enough sugar to get the day started. They are open from 6 – 2 Tues-Sat.

The beignets are easily worth 5 stars. Not over-sugared, pillowy, airy, crispy on the edges but doughy and light in the center. Yum. I thought the interior was cute, with fitting music playing in the background. It really does have a strong New Orleans café feel. The service was pleasant and very efficient. Our food was good – the fries were salted perfectly. I had a chicken tender basket and my boyfriend had the club sandwich. He really liked the club; his only complaint was that is was slightly uneven in temperature, but it didn’t bother him. The chicken tenders were decent, but not as good as everything else we ate. I didn’t expect them to be. I’m just a picky girl who doesn’t much care for Cajun food other than beignets – and on that note, the Beignet Café definitely delivers! Prices were reasonable and service was fast; this could easily be an excellent lunch spot or beignet breakfast takeout. I wish I was around more to order them for just such a purpose!

Walked in 2 minutes before closing. The staff was very friendly and waited on me without rushing. I ordered the Fried Steak Po’ Boy with Fries and Sweet Tea. The steak was perfect, crispy and well seasoned, placed on a small bed of lettuce with a sprinkle of onion and topped with gravy. I chose to eat with a fork, but it wasn’t too messy to eat with my hands. Even at closing time, the fries were fresh, crunchy and well-seasoned. The tea was fresh, with just the right amount of sugar. I ordered a dozen beignets. They are light and fluffy, with plenty of powdered sugar — delicious! I can’t wait to try their breakfast.

I typically wait several weeks after a new restaurant opens before I try it out, but Beignet Café’s social media presence the past several months has had me anxiously awaiting today’s opening. When I realized the owners are the same family who own my favorite local BBQ place, Olé Hickory BBQ in New Market, my expectations were rightfully set high. The décor is designed very well — simple, charming, and makes one feel like they’re in a coffee shop in NOLA. Seat yourself at a table or order to go at the counter. I ordered the blackened chicken po’ boy with loaded baked potato salad. The bread was fresh, the mayo seasoned, and the blackened chicken moist and tasty. The potato salad was creamy and, although there didn’t appear to be many ingredients in it, had a remarkably delightful flavor. The portion size was nice, too. A good deal for $ 6.99. I’m looking forward to trying everything on the menu… seriously. The service was friendly. Two small items of note — the cashier was so timid that she looked scared to be there, and she spoke so quietly that I couldn’t hear her, even though I stood right in front of her. Also, the kitchen staff at the cute draped window called out orders of «poor boys». Made me wince each time. Regardless, for the first day opening, it’s a firm 5 stars from me, and I’m anxious to return soon. They are open from 6:00 a.m. till 2:30 p.m., Monday– Saturday. A terrific spot for breakfast and lunch.
