Came in from out of town, stopped in based off of #starts in Unilocal and it didn’t disappoint! Spicy Pork Tacos… Excellent. And they do mean spicy!

Had a great experience at this little korean place downtown yesterday. This spot used to be a greasy spoon diner that i didnt care for, so happy it got a good replacement. Pretty much everything we had was great so cant go wrong, and prices were reasonable. Excellent service and was very clean. Hope others check out this family owned place.

When my friend suggested we go to a Korean restaurant for a Hamburger honestly I thought«what the heck» BUT absolutely one of the best burgers I have ever had! and crunchy fries!!! There is a nice dining area upstairs which was a surprise! Just may be my new favorite downtown place to grab a burger

Had lunch here today and loved it! So nice to have a Korean restaurant to choose from downtown. The service was awesome. I had the beef and leaf and it was the perfect amount of spicy for my liking. I’ll definitely be back.

I eat here once a week now. The food is absolutely fantastic! The Korean BBQ Chicken is particularly worth noting, it’s seasoned wonderfully and tender fall-off-the-bone perfection. The staff is friendly and always welcoming, and at this point even remembers my favorite sunny table upstairs. I have never had a bad meal here!

I have eaten her twice and my family has been here several times! We love it! The food is wonderful and the service is personal, caring and concerned. The Bulgogi ROCKS!!! The Donkatsu is like a schnitzel but unlike any schnitzel that I have ever had! Absolutely loved it! You must try this unique restaurant on the Square! They are on Grub Hub as well!

Big Oh’s presents a unique ethnic presence in downtown Huntsville, a city which also claims its own unique identity from the rest of Alabama. From the name itself, Big Oh, this restaurant clearly attempts to brand its quirkiness. Along with traditional Korean menu, they serve hybrid dishes such as bulgogi burgers, Yeun’s quesadillas, tacos and kimchee fried rice with cheese. On my second visit, I found that they added burritos. Lots of dynamic changes are happening at this fairly new restaurant. Positives first. Service was excellent. The owner seemed eager to please and to engage. It’s clean and doesn’t smell. On the other hand, I found the food to be so so. Rice was soft and too fluffy(over cooked in too much water?). Spicy pork was too fatty. Mandu was deep fried, rather than in a traditional Korean way(perhaps to appease the southern palate?). Overall, the taste of the dishes was disappointing. I applaud the owners’ willingness to take risks in developing a unique brand downtown, and I remain hopeful the food will also develop into something much better.

My husband and I have been here twice and had a great experience each time. He loves the Spicy Pork Tacos, and I like the Bibim Bap– not so hot. Service is great, not too expensive, and they have local draft beer! All we need for a great meal out!

Been here twice in the past month. Absolutely delicious both times. Try the donkatsu, spicy pork, and the soups. So good.

Another great idea in a great location with a great venue… to fall flat. And I really really hate to say that about local food joints, especially if they offer Asian food. Everything except the French fries were a no-go for me. For starters, the idea of ‘fusion’ seemed to miss the mark. The names on the menu didn’t exactly add up to what I expected. We played it safe with dumplings, because you can’t go wrong with dumplings, but they did. They lacked flavor and needed another minute in the fryer. On to the bacon and kimchi pancake. This was just a panfried potato-like cake, which was good if that was the description, but I got very little bacon or kimchi flavor. Not to mention, the sauces(tasted like soy sauce and sesame oil) for both apps were the exact same. I barely touched my pork tacos. The meat tasted like it was seasoned with taco seasoning, instead of fabulous Korean spices, there was only one small sliver of avocado, and the sauce(generic spicy mayo) was too overwhelming to taste anything else if eaten as a whole taco. My lunchmate’s fries were outstanding. As for the vibe. Styrofoam cups, plasticware, etc. was really off-putting. Finally, the prices. The portions were not huge and the food was subpar. The prices definitely did not reflect that. In conclusion, this seems like a highly Americanized food truck with quick, mediocre, overpriced food that found a building to reside in. Not what I’m looking for in ‘Korean fusion’ but I’m sure many Huntsvillians will appreciate. I truly hope for a better meal if I return as I want all local establishments to succeed. That being said, we were the only diners for a solid hour during lunch.

Before eating at Big Oh’s I had never had Korean food in my life. My husband and I ate here, and I have to say it was WONDERFUL! My husband, who lived in Korea for a time, was greatly impressed with the menu and loved everything. We were both very pleased with our meals and will be back! What a great restaurant in downtown Huntsville.
