they never have anything that you’re looking for in stock. this store is really unclean looking to me. its SUPER small. they really need to build an upgraded heb in town. i will continue driving to the new heb in montgomery.

This is a rather unimpressive HEB. It’s not as horrible as some of the other reviews make it sound, but it’s not amazing either. The highlight of it is the cheap gas. The only other reason to go seems to be the selection of produce. Other than that, its on par with the local Kroger(but that isn’t saying much).

I am not from Texas, and therefore I have no other HEB to compare this one to. Therefore, in my completely unbiased opinion, I love this grocery store! Since moving to Huntsville, I’ve gone to Brookshire Brothers, Walmart, and Krogers and have so far found HEB to be the best bargain with the least fuss(ahem, Walmart). Good selection of fruits– berries, nectarines, peaches, everything. Bacon for $ 2.50(hell yes!). Heavy whipping cream for $ 1. I am very pleased with HEB and will probably do all my shopping here from now on!

I lived in Central Texas for many years and I LOVEHEB. You can nearly always be sure their price is the best(or a few cents off), the selection is great, and their store brand products are usually on par with name brands at a much lower price. And, they are a Texas company that sources much of their product within Texas– a local company supporting local suppliers, and great value to boot. As I said, I love HEB. I was loyal customer for about 15 years… until I moved back to Huntsville about five years ago. This HEB is an embarrassment to the company. First off, this is one of their old ‘Pantry’ stores, so it is small, cramped and still doesn’t stock half of the products you will find in their full size counterpart. The aisles are so narrow it is almost impossible for two people, much less two carts, to pass each other. Because of the narrow aisles and dark colors of the store, it always seems kind of dismal, despite the bright lights. Just going in the place makes me depressed. As others have stated, they also have a real problem with out of date food on the shelves. A while back I bought drinkable yogurt there without noticing it had expired over a week earlier. First gulp, and I was very aware. I immediately returned the product with my receipt. They returned my money(they had no more in stock), but never even offered an apology. I now check expiration dates on every thing. Nearly every time I have been in(which is not often), I have found an expired product. Each time I bring it to the cashier’s/management’s attention, they shrug it off. College students get a bad rap in this town, but this is one case that it would help to have some career minded people working there. Seriously, HEB, when are you going to open a ‘real’ store in Huntsville. This town has never really had a decent grocery store(offering good selection at good prices). I am so tired of being at the mercy of Walmart. I can’t afford Brookshire Brothers. And, Kroger’s is always a crap shoot when it comes to prices. I want to support you, HEB, but you make it so hard.

This place needs to be demolished and redone. It’s a lot better than the previous year but some of the food is old so always check the date. It’s better than driving all the way to walmart so if your looking for a fast grocery trip, come here.

I love HEBs and I try to stay far away from Walmart. But, this HEB is the worst. It seems like everything is always out of stock(there were NO bagels on the shelf as of 2pm today) or they just don’t carry things I’m looking for(Ritz chips, laughing cow cheese, Brie cheese just to name a few). No bakery or deli at this location :[ It also seems because of its location it is always packed with people, which is no fun since the store is tiny. And the locals that shop here never seem to happy to see a college student. Too bad this place is the closest grocery store to my apartment :(
