My son got married at Magnolia Lake and everything was perfect! I even had the rehearsal dinner at the lake house. Shelly and Becca are very professional and helped in so many ways. This was a destination wedding so we all relied heavily on their expertise with lots of details, including local vendors. We were able to decorate for the rehearsal dinner at our convenience. The staff that helped that night were so efficient. Becca directed the wedding and made sure all details were handled. I never felt stressed out about any of it. Huntsville is very blessed to have a place like this and the people to ensure your event goes off without a hitch!

I was referred to Magnolia Lake by my Mother in Law, who has attended events out there in the past. My husband and I toured the grounds, and fell in love with the Lakehouse. Irma, the Events Coordinator took notes as to how many people we were going to have, and also what décor we wanted. We were told to call the next Monday if we wanted to book our event, and they’d also need payment in full. We ended up going with them, so I called, schedule the event, and make payment. They asked us to come in to sign the contract and credit card slip. When we came in, we were told we were eligible for a military discount, and we signed the contract being told we’d have a $ 50 credit coming to us. 3 days later, Irma called us and said that we actually were going to owe them $ 50 more than we paid, since she’d «misquoted» decorating the gazebo, and also the tables. Now, where I come from if you have someone sign a contact and it was your mistake, you honor your price. She didn’t. Fast forward to the day of the wedding. My Mother in Law and I show up to set up, and the table decorations aren’t correct. When I called Irma to tell her, she insisted that is what we told her(C’mon, red roses aren’t orange gerber daisies) and finally told me she’d be up there in a minute and hung up on me. She came up and grudgingly corrected her mistake, and when I told her she’d shorted us 4 chairs for both the ceremony and the reception, she said we’d told her 36 chairs, not 40. Now, when I looked down at the sheet for our event, she’d said«40 max.» It was a complete lie to save face, and we both knew it. After she rushed around and was extremely rude to both my MIL and I, she told me that she had to rush off to set up stemware for a «large event.» So, if I had 250 people in attendance at my event, I could expect for her to expect some, ANY courtesy? I never heard an «I apologize for the mistake, I’m happy to correct it,» nothing. After things got corrected, I didn’t hear another thing from her. Today, I received a bill in the mail for an additional $ 17 for the chairs. I couldn’t believe it. After not honoring the contract price, and messing up my décor and treating us so rudely, she had the balls to bill us for MORE money??? I personally can’t recommend Magnolia Lakes due to the poor experience we had. Maybe if you spend several thousand dollars with them you can plan to get treated well. God help the small, unimportant customers.
