They closed a couple months ago. It was okay, but couldn’t keep up with the competition. Hope another restaurant tries after the wal mart opens.

I really enjoy this restaurant. The staff are very friendly, and even though most of them are not native English speakers, I’ve never had any problems with orders or had any trouble communicating with them. I’ve tried a lot of their food, and can say that I don’t like their fajitas as much as at La Alameda, but their burritos are very good(burrito Mexicano being my favorite) and their salsa is incredible. It’s not very viscous, but the flavor is perfect. Finally, their mango margaritas are to die for. I order one every time. My girlfriend and I love them. One time they were out of mangos so we tried a peach one instead, and it was pretty good too. Not as potent as the mango, but my girlfriend loved it too. I couldn’t really taste the peach, but maybe that was because I was sipping from the glass and she was using a straw.

7 of us went Thursday 2÷26÷15. 3 adults, 4 kids. For starters, the margaritas were nothing special and the salsa was very thin and bland. I ordered the beef taco and beef enchilada special, I got a chicken taco and cheese enchilada instead. One of my kids didn’t get their meal until a couple of kids had finished theirs. Another kid got steak enchilada special but they didn’t bring him rice and beans(which I didn’t know about until we left). And of course at the end they had our bills screwed up and had to correct it. With so many Mexican choices around and the way this place operates, it won’t last long, especially in this location off of Bailey Cove Road. This is my 2nd time eating here and it will be my last.

This place started out promising. In the last 6 months it has been on a sharp decline. Wait staff is hard to understand and a large language barrier is present. Orders are routinely different than ordered. The food is just ehhh… Would not honor a coupon that my wife presented. I will never go back to this establishment. I would recommend Casablanca which is two minutes more up Bailey cove. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

So I am becoming good at writing review regarding all the average Mexican places here in town. So first off as I showed in a picture their Salas is pretty much water. This really sucks for dipping chips in. Next I got the fajitas Mi Oaxaca. The meat was hot but very bland and they have no hot sauce or other condiments on the table other than salt and pepper. It then only came with 3 yes 3 flour tortillas. As to toppings it was bit more sad. First there was no cheese. Then the amount of each given was horrendously tiny. As to the décor it is bright and clean but feels sparse and empty. I hate complaining about places but with locations like Rosie ’ s and casablanca so close these places need to step up their game. I won’t be back unless I see a huge change of posts saying they did change.

I LOVE this place. It is amazingly authentic and reminds me of my favorite place in Mexico City. The food is even vegetarian-friendly, which is why I’m always happy to come here for a mouth-watering family dinner with my vegetarian friendly. Oh, and the margaritas?! PERFECTION!!!

Excellent service and very clean. Chicken fajitas were more than enough for lunch. Good flavor and a lot to go with them on the side. Definitely a bargain on the lunch menu.

We’ve been here multiple times & have yet to be disappointed. The steak quesadillas were excellent with the tortillas perfectly prepared. Great margaritas! Def the best Mexican food on the south side of Huntsville. Our new«go to restaurant» for Mexican food.

Great Saturday lunch. Warm chips with salsa and sweet tea. I had the combination fajitas with shrimp, beef, chicken, and chorizo tasty. The waiter was extremely attentive and food arrived piping hot. My dad had chicken flautas. We also brought home a chicken burrito for Karen. It included chips and salsa too. Karen said the shredded chicken burrito was delicious.

This place is always packed so I decided to try it. I have lived in El Paso, TX for the majority of my life(elementary through college). I’ve had my share of Mexican food! I order two tamales and was shocked when I got the plate. A normal sized tamale and a tamale that wasn’t even half the size of a normal one was on my plate. I tried the tamale and there was so much masa and no chicken. I tried the rice and refried beans and they were bland. The tamales were flavorless even after adding salt! I informed the waiter that the food was not good & he asked if I wanted a box. Um no! When I got to the register the lady asked how was the food I said it was no good. She was like what did I eat I told her the tamales and they had too much bread. She was like what? I then had to translate to Spanish and said too much masa. She was shocked that I knew Spanish and said oh masa. She didn’t offer a refund and basically said oh well. This restaurant has lost customers because the food is terrible. It says something when everyone working in the restaurant is of Hispanic descent but they can not cook good food! The restaurant menu had prices that were white out and other spots that were scratched out. The salsa was watery and also bland. My husband ate the burritos and he said they were ok. The only pro is that the food came out fast. I guess fast food does not equal good food at a Mexican restaurant.

M This place is new and I do hope they read these reviews. I ordered the carnitas which I thought was really good. The problem was they were buried in onions. So many onion you could not see the meat. My wife ordered the fried fish. It was over cooked. The top shelf margaritas I order needed more tequila. I hope they improve.

First let me say, I would like every Mexican restaurant to succeed. I love Mexican food. So, I was happy to see Mi Oaxaca open. I’ve been there 3 times so far and quite frankly, they have a lot of work ahead of them if they want to compete with the other local Mexican places. I will start with the positives: I like their salsa and I like the fact that it is served in a small decanter. It makes it easy to use on chips and to add to your main course. I’ve ordered the shrimp fajitas twice and they are good, not great, but good. The staff is friendly and attentive. Now, areas that need improvement. Their veggie selection is lacking. They do not offer spinach quesadillas or veggie burritos or anything in this area. That is a glaring oversight on the menu. The food is a little bland and often served lukewarm. All in all, I think Mi Oaxaca is going to have to up it’s game to stay around for the long haul.

My husband and I visited Mi Oaxaca two weeks ago. We were hopeful that the food would be good and provide us a nice new place to dine near our neighborhood. I ordered the beef enchiladas and my husband ordered the chicken chimichanga. We were served chips and salsa which were ok. The salsa was a little watery and the chips were standard. When our food arrived it was plated nicely and looked very appetizing. I found the enchiladas to taste below average. The ground meat inside was totally without flavor and appeared to be a ground slurry of perhaps pressure cooked cheap ground beef. The rice and beans were also totally without seasoning and flavor. My husbands chimichanga was filled with chicken which he said tasted just ok. He said his rice and beans were also sub-par. The guacamole tasted ok and was a smooth pasty consistency. I am not sure if it was pre packaged, but it didn’t look homemade to us. The décor appeared to be exactly the same as the previous restaurant that closed at this location. All in all I doubt that we will return, which is a shame as we were hopeful

This place just opened a few weeks ago, so I decided to try it. I’ve been to the old Mexican restaurant at this same location, and the only difference is a minor improvement of the décor. I’ll start With the food. The food was mediocre. The chips were kind of stale, and the salsa was too watery. The chimichanga wasn’t too bad. It was fried perfectly, and the chicken inside was also ok. I didn’t like the rice and retried beans. They were just bland. Almost no flavor in either of them. The lettuce-sour cream-guacamole«salad» was just as disgusting as it had been at the old restaurant(I think they kept parts of the old menu.) The décor was strange and cheap. Some of the light bulbs were dead, and they just opened a couple of weeks ago. I posted a picture of the interior for you to see what I am talking about. I don’t recommend this restaurant, unless you are brave and want to try it.
