The only reason that I gave it two stars is because it is the cheapest hotel in town. This hotel is only good for short term, sleep only. lol. Don’t expect anything. I stayed here before a few years ago and forgot how bad it is. I rented twice In the last week. the first time, the air worked great, BUT no micro/fridge/phone and choked on the extreme amount of air freshener. the second time I thought maybe if I change room, it might be better, WRONG! NOAIR! SUCKEDWORSETHAN1STTIME! and btw wifi only works when your room is close to the office

If about $ 45 a night is your limit, then the Red Carpet Inn is for you. It’s one of a few no-tell motels on University, and it’s easily the best – it’s the cleanest, the brightest, it’s popular(with many regulars, especially construction crews), it’s on a good stretch of road(there’s an Olive Garden next door), and it has a snappy wireless access point available to some rooms. I checked out some of the other motels on University and they were all in serious disrepair – not worth saving $ 3 – 4. The problems here are the same you’ll find at any similar no-name inn: The front desk service quality is variable(but, more often than not, on par with a three– or four-star); there can be some cleanliness issues in the rooms(but they’ll give you a different room if you tell them about it); the clientele can be somewhat rowdy(you’ll want to leave the AC or heater fan on all night, probably, just for the white noise); and it’s not the best part of town overall – we once saw a lady of the evening walking openly nearby. But that makes the place sound bad, and it really isn’t. My wife was delighted with it(and with the savings), and her quality baseline is quite high. Our stays here have been positive enough that I don’t bother looking elsewhere anymore. If you stay at the Red Carpet you save $ 20 – 30 a night over the Holiday Inn Express down the road, and the experience will be comparable. Put that cash toward a nice dinner instead. A final note: If you’ll be staying here repeatedly, get a frequent guest card at so you can save 10% on your tab. The card has to be mailed to you, though, and it takes weeks to arrive.
