Not bad and a nice change from the typical burger places. I had the taco burger which is a taco but on a hamburger bun instead of a taco shell… interesting! I would recommend and I plan to come again.

I’ve only been once to Shaggy’s Burgers and Tacos and I really loved it. The taco burger is fantastic! The queso dip is soooo yummy! Even my daughter loved it and dipped her hot dog in it. The beef quesadilla is phenomenal! It’s huge and has tons of flavor and don’t even get me started on their own taco sauce that apparently is «made fresh daily» which tastes like it and that added flair,. I didn’t try their beverages besides soda but I loved the fact that they have a margarita machine and offer grown up drinks. Not to mention their shakes looked awesome. The vibe is different, not bad, just not something you come across often. The wall that separates the kitchen from the dining room has a wave looking texture and cascades the color-changing LED lights that drift down and around the room. They also have TVs that makes it a cool spot when you want to still catch the game and grab some grub. They’re trying for a hippie vibe but have an ultra modern dining room that was clean and has ample seating. I’ll definitely be going again and again.

I had lunch at Shaggy’s, it was very crowded and busy as it normally is around lunch time. The restaurant offers a variety of things from tacos, burgers, hotdogs, salads… etc. Everything that I had ever eaten from there has been great. I love that they have mixed fries with both regular and sweet potato fries. The workers there are kind and helpful, and they keep the place really clean. I just wish they had other locations especially in south Huntsville!

This is my favorite restaurant in the Huntsville area! Why? Because I like almost everything on the menu, which is diverse. Any place that serves burgers, tacos and quesadillas and does a good job is a great place to eat. This is fast casual, so no servers to tip, but emphasis on the fast. Food is typically served within 2 or 3 minutes and it’s always hot and well prepared. They don’t skimp! Burgers are big and juicy; tacos have lots of meat, but beware; they are a little spicy. And don’t worry about asking for personalized orders; they are quite willing to add/subtract items to make what you like and for some reason, they almost always get this right, unlike some places. I sincerely don’t understand why there are some reviews here saying the orders are wrong or the food is not prepared correctly. I visit Shaggy’s probably 4 or 5 times per month since it opened and I’ve received maybe one order that wasn’t prepared correctly. Quick visit to the counter and bam! correct order given to me with no questions asked. You really can’t ask for better service from a restaurant in this class. And if you’re in the mood for a drink, they serve beer, wine and margaritas, although a soft drink just seems to go better with this type of food. Often overlooked is their breakfast. Folks, Shaggy’s has the best pancakes in town, way better than IHOP, as well as great omelets and tex-mex breakfast quesadillas and delicious has browns. Seriously, no better breakfast in town that comes this fast at this price. And don’t forget about the ice cream either. The chocolate dipped cone is HUGE! The only thing I don’t like is they are closed on Sundays, so I have to get my fix during the week or Saturday.

I have yet to have something from here that wasn’t good. I always get the Combo with a Mexican Dog and a Hot Slaw Dog. The Mexican Dog is a hot dog topped with their ground beef, shredded cheese, and pickled jalapenos. The Hot Slaw down is a chopped cabbage slight spicy creamy slaw that is topped. Their mixed fries are great as well. I have had their tacos, their quesadillas, and their salad and all are great! Super convient for lunch and if you get there early, you can be in and out withing 30 mins.

This is a GREAT restaurant and one of my personal favorites in Huntsville. It stinks that I do not live or work nearby and therefore can’t get there as often as I would like. The overall experience and quality of the food is easily several notches above the usual fast food places.(I almost hate to use the term«fast food» to describe Shaggy’s, but I guess it is what it is.) There is a great, trendy, family friendly atmosphere. It is sort of like a 1950’s ice cream parlor near the beach but with updated everything and a touch of high tech gizmos thrown in for good measure — if that makes any sense. The the staff is always friendly and courteous and the place is always clean. It is usually very crowded at lunch, so I try to get there early or late. It seems lots of people like the place. You can’t hold that against them. Besides, they do have a pretty efficient system of getting everyone served, and they do it without all the stress, confusion and line-jumping of the places with 150 foot long counters and 6 registers. Go figure! Everything I have tried has been good, but I think the tacos are a bit more special than the burgers. This might just be because their taco sauce is probably my favorite of all time. I can go through a lot of it in a sitting too. It is very tasty and just spicy enough without setting your tongue completely on fire and making you pay later. I have bought a bottle of it to bring home on several occasions. Their Greek salad is definitely my favorite salad in town. It is plenty of food too, even for a big hungry person. They also serve up some wonderful ice creamy desserts. The Spanish Omelet breakfast is also well worth the drive. Seriously, I can’t agree with any negative comments about Shaggy’s. The place easily gets 5 stars in my book.

If you are in Huntsville this is a must! Their soft fish taco is a must. They have a special sauce that has a hint of spice and tons of flavor. There is something for everyone.

I really want this place to be good but it’s disappointed on both times I’ve been here in the past two months. First trip I had the grilled chicken. It was tough with little flavor. Fries we’re good though. Tried the fish tacos this time and they were the worst I have ever eaten. Literally a piece of fried tilapia in a taco shell. That’s it… no lettuce no cheese, no pico, nothing. The chips we’re blah. This place is always packed a lunch so they must be doing something right but I don’t know where. I’ll be willing to try them again to figure out what that is. Also, both times I’ve had to go look for my food as the pager system never worked.

Shaggy’s is a neat little restaurant; when you first walk in it’s all bright colors and surfboards. 70s music is playing in the background. The restaurant is clean, the menu is easy to read, and the staff was courteous and helpful. I had the spicy beef soft tacos with chips and salsa. There was a very short wait time until my food was ready. The tacos were delicious, they didn’t skimp on anything. Two tacos filled me up Unlike other restaurants their chips were actually fresh and warm. Overall not bad and I will definitely go back.

Shaggys is a great fast food place for tacos! Their spicy chicken is full of flavor and their tortillas taste homemade. We like this place so much that my coworkers and I have made going here a weekly event. Definitely recommended if you are looking for something fast, friendly and tasty with a cheap price tag. Admittedly, I haven’t tried their burgers so this review its strictly speaking to the tacos side of the business :) Spicy chicken tacos & taco salad get a 5⁄5 Atmosphere 3⁄5 average but a great relaxed place for a quick lunch during the week. Service 5⁄5 they are always friendly and the service is speedy! Edit: I’ve recently tried their breakfast and it is now my go-to breakfast joint. Their spicy sausage burritos are great and it’s the only fast food place in town(that I know of) where you can get an omelet. I love to grab a spicy sausage and cheese omelet on my way to work from Shaggy’s. Highly recommended!!!

Shaggy’s has amazing food! I have tried many of the menu items and have never been disappointed. Fresh, hot and lots of flavor. Absolutely one of my favorite restaurants! My only problem is deciding what to order! Yum! Kerri

Nice restaurant with a good atmosphere. Shaggy was packed so the food must be good. It was our first time here so we had to give it a try. I had the crunchy beef tacos with chips and dips. My husband had the Shaggy burger with fries. My daughter had the chicken strips. The tacos were stuffed with meat which I love, but it wasn’t all that great. The Shaggy burger was dry and didn’t look so interesting like the name. Chicken strips were very good though with honey mustard sauce. Chips tasted fresh like it was fried up in the kitchen and not from a bag. I’ll give Shaggy another try and order something different.

UPDATE: I spoke with the manager, Joslynn(?), explained the mix up. The following happened: J: what is you ticket number? Me:(gave number) J: what did you order? Me:(gave order and also what I received) J: I’ve taken the whole amount off your card. Me: Well, thank you, I appreciate that. I just wanted to say that over the past six months or so, this has happened a few times and the service has really gone down hill. J: well, I’m sorry(tone didn’t convey sincerity) Me: thank you and I appreciate the credit to my card. Thank you again. J:(hangs up) I usually use the drive-thru because I find the the dining room to be food court loud and too warm and I’m not a fan of TVs in the dining room. I have had both breakfast and lunch. I have yet to find the food to be more appealing than the typical fast food joint. The burgers tend to be dry and overpriced. If I’m going to pay $ 8-$ 10 for fast food lunch, I’m going to 5 Guys. Breakfast is the usual fare for me, simply because of location. The breakfast burritos are decent and you have the added bonus of substituting eggs(not sure if they are real or powered but I believe a hen laid them) for egg beaters. When I first started visiting, the burritos were well stuffed and the order was usually correct, even if it did take forever and a day(in drive-thru time) to receive the food. Over the past 6 months to a year, Shaggy’s has not simply gone down hill, they are now tunneling to China. I would agree with posts I have seen elsewhere that 1 out of 10 times my order is wrong(today was a good example — hope the guys behind me enjoyed my burritos). If it wasn’t for the location being so close to work, I wouldn’t visit them anymore. As it is now, I think I’m going to become an Atlanta Bread patron.

Stopped in for lunch yesterday, first time I had the chance to drop into Shaggy’s Burgers & Tacos. The place looked nice, kinda of had a «hip vibe» to it, my expectation level went up a bit as I placed my order. Went with a Jalapeño Burger and a small size of «mixed» fries(sweet potato and regular). My order came out to the window fairly quickly, even though they had given me one of those buzzer-thingies to alert me when it was ready. Well, the burger had a charred flavor to it, but honestly, was nothing special, pretty average. Jalapenos were not even placed on the burger itself, just thrown to the side. Fries were decent tasting. Can’t see a reason to go back, I was very underwhelmed as a whole. A weak 3 Star rating.

Decent fish tacos and sweet tea, my fave beverage while I’m in the south. Young lady behind the counter was very sweet being patient with me and explaining her popular menu items but I tried the fish tacos to see how they compared to Wahoos Fish tacos out of California. I was pleasantly surprised the food was better than I expected. So overall, excellent customer service by Faith and overall decent food when you’re on a late night binge and want to catch some college playoff football games! I’ll be back!

Every now and then I go here for lunch because it is close to my workplace. Here’s why I give it two stars: The concept of the place is good. The throwback decorations are nice and the TVs are a good touch. I like the the indycar nose that hangs up on the wall. The food is okay. I’ve had the tacos, burgers, and breakfast items. Don’t expect anything authentic regarding the south of the border. The owner is the same owner as the Rosie’s joints so that’s what you are getting. If Little Rosie’s is a copy of Rosie’s, Shaggy’s is the copy of the copy.(Multiplicity reference). The burgers are great in theory but they tend to overcook them. I’m thinking they use the same charcoal cooking method as Steak-Out(again same owner). The fries are okay and it’s nice they mix it up with sweet potato fries. The pricing is a bit confusing regarding the combos. It took me a few visits to realize that a drink is not included in the«combo» price. I’m not sure if a chili cheeseburger with fries and drink should be $ 10.77(that’s after tax).

Worse burger I have had in awhile came from this place, it was overcooked making it try as dry as ****. I fries were okay though, and they have a pretty good soda selection. The only thing this place has going is the nice little patio they have and the blue windows make it blue inside. When you walk out your eyes take a moment to adjust to the real light.
