Food is consistently good. All the sauces taste good. I’ve never gone wrong here in any plate that I have ever had. Slaw adds much to the BBQ Chicken sandwich. All in all good bbq.

I visited for the first time today — and that will be my last time. I ordered the pork plate with fries and potato salad. Not only did 3 employees ignore me it took several minutes for a very unfriendly girl to ask«here or go?» The employees ARENOT friendly. The corn muffin was dry as kitty litter. The potato salad was soupy and had no taste. The fries were the nastiest things on my plate! Good size portion of pork, but Lawler’s does it best!

Great BBQ and sides! Wednesdays is brisket special and well worth the stop. Cobbler is good as well as Mac and cheese and baked beans. Have both mild and spicy sauce as well as white sauce.

My co-worker and I love a stuffed baked potato now and then. I was in the neighborhood so stopped in to get one for us. I tried the chicken potato and ordered the bbq potato for her. Compared to our favorite bbq place, they were small and tasted just ok. The potato was not hot and the chicken was very dry and there wasn’t much of it. My co-worker said hers also was not hot and that the bbq just wasn’t as flavorful. We won’t be going back.

Had Ted’s drive thru today(not this location but the one near Research Park) and really enjoyed it! The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is I felt the price point was a little high for the portions. I ordered the two meat + 2 sides, and added on a tamale. I selected pulled pork, chicken, mac and cheese and French fries. The food was handed to me within 5 minutes of ordering so kudos for being super fast! I noticed a group of guys enjoying the beautiful day by eating their Ted’s lunch on a sidewalk table, so they do offer outdoor dining. The pulled pork is not«too die for» but was good. It had some bark, and a small smoke ring, and was free of bones, with almost no fat.(They offer several sauces, so I chose«spicy»(which was a red bbq-style sauce) for the pork and«white» for the chicken). There was no extra charge for choosing two sauces :-). The fries were fresh, and crispy on the outside, with a spicy(maybe seasoned salt) on the exterior, and pillowy interior. The chicken was skin on, a quarter of a chicken maybe? It had the slightest of smoke flavor and was a bit on the dry side. The white sauce came immediately to the rescue and was well made. I was not feeling the love for the mad and cheese, although others seem to love it. I wish they would smoke the mac and cheese, and change cheeses, as the cup of m&c I was served was super-reminiscent of Velveeta’s prepackaged variety. The cornbread is prepared muffin style, and had just a few fresh jalapeño pieces and corn pieces baked in it. It was pretty good. I saved the tamale for tomorrow. Had the tamale the following day and it was fine. I’m still in search of HSV’s best tamales. BTW, the phone number for the Research Park area Ted’s will ring and then say«this number is not in service,» as I wanted to call in my order so it would be really really quick, but a call to the other Ted’s confimed that that was the correct phone number, adding, «the phone number works best from a cell phone»(which is what I used, so whatever. Don’t expect them to be able to answer a phone call at the Research Park location. It seems like this meal total was ~ 18.00, even though it made two lunches for me. I thought that was a ted(wait, I meant tad, ha ha!) high for the portions. Do try Ted’s, you have to look for it due to it’s small footprint, on the NW corner of the same strip mall as Phil Sandoval’s.

Dinner at home from Ted’s once again. The pulled pork sandwiches are outstanding as always. Their white sauce is my wife’s favorite and I get spicy and then add more Texas Pete to make it hotter. Quick and very easy. After a busy afternoon we enjoy picking up sandwiches and relaxing with them while watching the Braves.

I can only comment on the pulled pork as my choice of meat here, because it is classic BBQ to me. But let me tell you, I have had lots of BBQ pork from lots of places, and this is the best. The. Best. Tender, but still has some bite. Perfect. You can have get mild, spicy or white sauce(it’s all on the tables, so I pile on the white sauce there.) They’ll also put on the tastiest coleslaw I’ve ever had, and actually enjoyed eating. The cornbread has jalapenos in it, which I love, and they have the BESTMACANDCHEESEYOUWILLEVEREATINYOURLIFE. If you don’t like BBQ that much, just go for the mac and cheese, and get a tub full. The atmosphere is really neat(the tabletops are hammered copper!) but there’s not a lot of room for ordering, and it’s always really cold inside. Also, the parking lot can be difficult to maneuver through at normal eating hours. However, that’s because there’s so many people trying to eat there, which should give you an idea of how tasty it is!

Um. YUM! This place is the best barbecue in Huntsville. And every side I’ve ever had is amazing, especially the green beans and potato salad. I always top off my meal with a banana pudding. This is southern at it’s best. The best part about it is the drive-thru. Some days I don’t want to have to go in. They also have good beers!

We live close by and eat here often. The food is always very good and the service is always friendly and prompt. We like all that they serve. I think that it is as good barbecue as you can find — certainly in Huntsville. Very glad Ted’s has moved into the neighborhood. I especially like the beans. Also the take-out ham is the best I have ever eaten

A barbecue joint should be about barbecue. Can’t say this is really a «Joint»…and the barbecue reflects that. It’s Urban BBQ, or Urba-cue. You get the idea. Price is on the high side, but hey, you gotta pay the rent. I only ordered two things: Ribs and Pulled Pork. In Alabama, if you can’t do those well, you might as well not exist under the BBQ header. Ribs were done Memphis Style with what tasted like a generic type of paprika, brown sugar, and a-couple-more-spice, rub. Had a sweetness to it. Rib texture was like they’ve been sitting in a steam bath all day, a little over done-fall off the bone, and a bit mushy. Definitely not Pitmaster quality. The Pulled Pork was pulled Alabama-style, but had no real bark mixed in to speak of and frankly tasted a bit mushy and more roasted than smoked. Sauces were Memphis style, with the mild sauce being a bit sweeter than most Memphis types. The spicy was decent enough, with a nice black pepper finish. They also had an Alabama white sauce, but I passed on it as it’s intended for chicken. The staff offered it up for pork, so they’re not aware of that tid-bit, but it’s no sin to use it how you like. I like it with hush-puppies. Overall, Ted’s is not the place for a real ‘Q enthusiast. I really hope they can do better.

Every time I come here I always order the same food(quarter chicken, baked beans, and macaroni and cheese) and each time the workers at Ted’s have successfully delivered the food with consistent quality. Yes, I did try the bbq ribs, and they were awful. Yes, the macaroni is too cheesy for my taste, but I see where others could enjoy. Outside of those two problems, Ted’s is no place to pass by without serious consideration. The baked beans have a marked sweetness to them. The quarter BBQ chicken is prepared in herbs and spices which enrich the natural flavor of the chicken. The tea is sweet and the working staff is even sweeter. Beyond the food, Ted’s is a place where one could get reacquainted or introduced to the sounds of the 50’s with the tunes of old dancing into your eat while you enjoy your meal.

Decent prices. Terrible BBQ! I don’t know what wood they are using… but it was nasty. The meat was dry and had to be drenched in their«original» sauce to get through the sandwich. Not giving up! They also serve tamales and since our toddler was given a Rosie’s Cantina cup, WTH. I’ll order a tamale.

Baked beans tasted like pork and beans. Potato salad was VERY runny. Pork was cold, chicken seemed«baked» not smoked. This was our second time here. First time it was awesome. Will not go back.

Although my favorite BBQ is still Lawler’s, this is a close second and *much* more convenient. The Tamales are really good. The Baked Bean are delicious, the mac and cheese is tasty, and the green beans are… well… green beans(although they’re not cooked to that beyond mushy point like they are at some places). Evidently they have Brisket on Wednesdays and Ribs only on the weekend(Thursday, Friday ad Saturday) Closed on Sundays.
