Not very friendly. Not timely at all. Won’t be back after this visit! Selection is definitely dated and limited.

I had an eye exam in NOV2013. Received a prescription for contacts and thought all is well until I tried to order additional contacts from . I received an email stating that my prescription had expired. Which it did in NOV2014. Interesting in that ALL Eye Care insurance will only pay for eye exams every two years. I called Vision Masters and was given the line that the one year prescription is mandated by Federal Regulations. I promptly went to the FTC’s web site and found out that is not true. Here is what the FTC says The Rule allows prescribers to set prescription expiration dates — one year or more from the date the prescription is issued to a patient. If applicable state law requires a specific expiration period that is longer than one year, however, the prescriber must follow that law. When I took the document to the office to show them the FTC Regulation, they said they would contact the Dr. to see if he would extend the prescription. They did call and stated the Dr. Would not extend the prescription as he only wrote them for one year. This is a Great Business model if you are Vision Master as now you can force you customers to have an eye exam every year and the customer gets hosed as the insurance company will not pay for it. Avoid this place at all cost. And for any Optometrist, insure that they will write your prescription for two years.

Me: «I’d like to have my existing lenses cut down to fit some new frames, please». Lenscrafters: «That’s impossible. You’ll have to buy all new lenses». Vision Master: «I’m sorry, Sir. We’ll have to charge you a $ 10 re-cutting fee to do that». I’ve always had good, friendly, professional service here. I’ve recommended VM to several of my friends and family.
