We were passing through the area Sunday and decided to eat at the Log Cabin. They were busy, since it was Father’s Day and we had to wait about 30 Minutes. When we got seated we were waited on by a pleasant young lady and she took very good care of us. We finally chose our dinner. We both chose the 2 boneless fried chicken breast. They were only fair. Mine wasn’t 2 pieces it was one large breast that had been flattened out and dipped in a batter and deep fried. It looked more like a pork fritter than a chicken breast. It has large pieces of fat still attached. I tried it but I didn’t eat it. The vegetables were good except the Ripe tomatoes that were not ripe. The cornbread was too sweet. The rolls were as you get at many restaurants. I would maybe try it again if I’m back in the area. On another day that maybe they wouldn’t be so busy as it was on Father’s Day.

Hand breaded fried chicken… really good. Nice and fast service. A lot of locals. Only downside… prices a little high but can split dishes… they are huge(except for salads). Even kids meals are big. Cleanliness needs help. Layers of dust in bathroom which needs updating. Walked out of bathroom and something dripped on my head. Yuck. Overall… ok stop. Gas cheep across the street.

The food was excellent to be honest. The whole table was served and out the door in less than an hour [Party of 10]. For one of the first times ever everbody liked their food and was satisfied. Also, they had a large menu with many options, it seemed you couldn’t go wrong any dish.

We stopped here because we were so hungry and couldn’t wait until we reached Memphis about 2 hours away. We were in luck! The food was delicious. We ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, cabbage and green beans. The yeast rolls were delicious, light and fluffy. The ice tea was exceptional, too. The special soup of the day was Italian Wedding soup, hearty enough to be your complete lunch with an authentic flavor. Then, there was their mile-high chocolate meringue pie — no disappoint there. The crust was so flakey, the chocolate dense and dark, and the meringue, literally a foot high. Will Certainly stop this way again while traveling.

On some crazy hunch that my husband might be right, we drove an hour to try this place someone told him about. We had no trouble being seated and out server was the sweetest and very attentive. My mother in law ordered the shrimp as did my husband. I had my eye on the fried catfish from jump. My fish was cooked perfectly and drizzled with the lemon, some of the best fried catfish I’ve had in Tennessee. The white beans, chunked with ham, were hot, tender, perfect with a splash of hot sauce and the hush puppies. Oh, the hush puppies. Crispy, yet moist(as much as I don’t like that word) with a little bit of sweetness. The one shrimp they let me try had a very flavorful breading, seasoned very well. Overall, it was an hour drive well worth it.

This restaurant is our favorite restaurant across the USA to stop at. It has never failed us! My husband drives a semi and we haul new boats all across the USA and into Canada as well. So when I say it’s our favorite it has been compared to hundreds of other restaurants! The staff is always so friendly and the food is fabulous! The fried green tomatoes is a must as well as the fried chicken! There is a 20⁄30 minute wait for the chicken and it’s so worth the wait! The best fried chicken EVER! The sweet potato casserole is like desert! The other sides are great as well as deserts. It’s been two long years since we’ve been here and I hope it’s not that long until we drive through the area again! They are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year, so that in itself says a lot! It’s always busy but if you are ever in the area make the time to stop and get your bellies full. It’s so good that when friends are traveling in the area I always tell them to stop here. Even though my belly is full, I can’t wait for left over supper! Thank you to the Log Cabin and staff for another wonderful meal!

Delicious Food and Fantastic Service! We accidentally found Log Cabin last year on our trip and this year made a point to come back.

Based on Unilocal and recommendation of the Holiday Inn staff chose Log Cabin over Loretta Lynn kitchen. Good choice. Country Fried Steak so tender you don’t need a knife and the mashed potatoes…

THISPLACEISABSOLUTELYAMAZING! From the friendliest staff to the most amazing food. It’s a cute restaurant that had a fireplace in the middle, which I love. The serving sizes are big and everything I had tasted delicious. We finished with a HUGE piece of homemade chocolate pie. Our waitress was Amanda and she was super sweet and helpful. I wish this place was closer to where I live but I will definitely drive back up there just for their amazing food.

While driving to Memphis. I checked Unilocal for restaurants nearby. I picked a winner! Food and service were excellent. I got a ribeye, a little pricy, but by far the best I’ve had in a while my wife got the skillet Alfredo chicken. It was delicious! I’ll certainly be back if I drive this way again. The only downfall was they didn’t serve real butter, that would have topped off my baked potato!

Great food every time I’ve been here. Been coming for 4 years and have never had bad service. Great country cooking!

Great food but bad service. Had to ask a couple times for cream for my first cup of coffee. Also after the waitress served my food, I never saw her again. Wanted a refill on my coffee and jelly for my biscuit, felt my breakfast was incomplete. Bad service can ruin a experience no matter how good the food is, could not recommend and would not return

To be honest, the menu doesn’t match the place. It’s a log cabin with a menu all over the place. Everything from bar food to Italian to steaks. I saw very very few actual country dishes on the menu but somehow they claim to have the most authentic country menu??? I learned that almost all of their veggie sides are canned products, but«we season them ourself». I got country fried steak, it’s a premade shipped in frozen breaded meat with no flavor. The gravy is not great, chunky and bland. The mashed potatoes are ok, but once again same bland gravy. The cream corn is ok, but I do not believe for a minute it’s made in house. The cabbage is good, no complaint. The corn bread is more like a flour based bread than a corn meal based. But it too is flavorless. Over all I find this place disappointing as they had good reviews. Maybe my standards for real country cookin are a bit higher. I would only eat here again, as I did tonight, if the awesome BBQ restaurant across the street is closed and my options are fast food. Then I might still have to weigh the options.

Stopped in after reading not-so-good reviews for Loretta Lynn’s place and glad we did. Cozy atmosphere, tables pretty close and neighborly. Wish I’d seen the display at the register sooner: candles, jams and more. I’ve got a feeling this place was the authentic inspiration for the Cracker Barrel chain. But this place is on a smaller scale and feels like Grandma just cooked up your dish. We were looking for BBQ. Being northerners, we assumed it was served everywhere south of the Ohio. I know, I know. After reading the menu, we realized our error but didn’t want to rush off. I mean, everyone here is so nice! So, we ordered the fried green tomatoes. Nice and crispy. We’d stop here again as soon as we’re craving fried chicken — it looked delicious!

Traveling through for business and decided to stop in based on reviews. Not really my favorite type of food as the menu mostly consists of rich and fried foods, however, they had a few healthier choices. I went with the marinated chicken with bbq baked beans, slaw and fries. It was really good the chicken had a great flavor and char, the slaw was homemade with a sweet taste and the baked beans were pretty good too. The fries were waffle shaped and really good and crispy. I noticed they had homemade pies that looked fulfilling and good, maybe next time

This was our first time here having driven by this place many times. We stopped mostly because the reviews were good. The décor is what you would expect with antiques on the wall and a stuffed deer head. The fireplace was a plus. Our waitress was awesome. After she took our drink orders she let us know what they were out of(as they had a very busy weekend) which was awesome as you usually have to order first before they let you know what they are out of. It didn’t affect us anyway. We both orders Iced Tea that was good and came in large Mason Jars. We started with an order of Fried Mushrooms that comes with a horseradish ranch dipping sauce. The Mushrooms were hand battered and the sauce very good. The Mushrooms were served in a mini fry basket, very cute. My wife ordered the Fried Chicken Livers with Turnip Greens, Cabbage and Green Beans. She said her sides were very good. She liked the Chicken Livers as well. They were hand battered. She prefers a buttermilk batter but they were good. I ordered the Country Fried Steak with Turnip Greens and Fried Okra. It comes with Mashed Potatoes. The Steak was hand battered and the Mashed Potatoes were a good complement to the Steak and Milk Gravy. All of our food came out promptly and was piping hot. I can see us coming here again when driving through. I can’t wait to come back. They are also know for their pies and Fried Pies. Will have to try those on the next trip. Give it a try you won’t be sorry. B the prices are fair and the portions generous.

One of my favorite places to eat in all the US. Everything is perfect. The pies are phenomenal. I’ve ate here at least 10 times in the last couple years and I would put this place up against any top diner. They serve the southern meat with three for $ 7.45 as a lunch special. YOUWILLLOVETHISPLACE. Everything is made FRESH.

I’ve eaten here a few times. Invariably, it’s because I was working somewhere in West TN and I’m starving on my way home. It’s always OK. The Cajun Chicken Salad is not very Cajun-y and the salad underneath the chicken is unimaginative. I don’t need a cup of shredded cheddar cheese, more fresh vegetables would be better. I can’t even remember what I’ve had the other times. other than turnip greens because I always love those. Prices are a little high for what it is, but not extreme. The service, I’ve noticed, is friendlier to the obvious regulars. I’ll probably end up here again sometime but it’s not a destination restaurant. Nice to have something that’s not fast food on 40 though.

Wow! We simply stopped at this exit to fill up on gas — we certainly didn’t expect to get a great breakfast at this very exit. The restaurant looks modest from the outside, but once I researched the place on Unilocal,I simply directed my family by pointing across the street and saying«We’re eating breakfast at the Log Cabin — this place has really great reviews apparently.» Sure enough, it was a fast satisfying breakfast. Service was genuine and attentive. Our coffee mugs never went empty. The potato casserole was delicious. Bacon was crisp, and our eggs were perfectly cooked to order. We had more toast than we could handle. The portions were fairly large, too. Overall, great and fast service with a smile. The food is pretty darn good! Highly recommend this place if you’re at the exit filling up on gas and decide that you need a satisfying bite to eat!
