IMO the worst mortgage company I have dealt with, and I’ve dealt with a few. They «accidentally» charged me almost double on my mortgage statement by charging me for insurance that I did not have (I paid out of pocket insurance and insurance was not to be a part of escrow). When informed, they said they would rectify it but that I had to pay the whole amount due on the statement. It took them about 8 months to adjust the payment amount, and because it was so difficult to come up with the extra money each month and we could not pay on time, they charged us late fees. While they finally reimbursed the extra we were paying, with no interest of course, they refused to take off the late fees stating that” the payments were late; it did not matter if we were charged incorrectly.”
