Whirlyball

Do not play whirlyball at this location. The cars are horrible and most do not work consistently. Definitely not worth the price and we won’t be coming back to this location.

Your experience is dependent on when your car’s set contacts were last cleaned. In our match all of the yellow side was close to unusable leading to a frustrating and disappointing experience.
Afterwards I brought it to the attention of the staff they told me about the contact cleaning issue and then went like this:

Better yet, call ahead and find out when the contacts were last cleaned; you’ll have a much more enjoyable time that way.

I came here with a group of friends for my brother’s «bachelor/​bachelorette» party. Overall, I had a lot of fun. My knees did not. Neither did anyone else’s knees. The bumper cars could use some padding around the steering device that sits between your legs. Be sure to make a reservation beforehand and wear real shoes lol (seems like a given, but some people in our group didn’t and regretted it). Pretty simple concept: red cars score on red goal, yellow cars score on yellow goal. I felt like rules were optional? Mostly because the referee didn’t really give us any direction. Didn’t tell us about seat belts or basic safety things even after we told them it was our first time. But that’s also a good thing, lots of freedom during play. They also didn’t have waivers to sign, which surprised me. The staff in general was pretty unhelpful, but the pricing is reasonable. They also had a few arcade games, air hockey, and laser tag. Concessions and beer are at the front where you pay. So basically, the facility itself is bland and a little messy, the bumper cars need some love, and the staff kinda sucks, but it’s whirlyball, how could you not have fun?

Went here with a group of 10 of us from work, a little team building and it was a mixed bag.
Likes: Whirly ball itself is just a lot of fun. The ref, let us just play and we had a great time. We took advantage of a food and beer package, which was reasonable but we had a couple of cocktail drinkers that were disappointed there was no other alcohol.
We had a Mexican fajitas meal and we were all pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. (I guess they get it from Volcano restaurant next door)
Dislikes, the bumper cars were rough and some were just wore out. The place has NO ambiance. Just whitewashed walls. We did this same team building in the Chicago area and that place just had so much more character to it. I’m not expecting a taj mahal in a whirly ball place but at least have something on the walls. Even though the food was good, we had to remove the covers from all the bowls and trays, just a little tacky.

I absolutely love this game and it’s so much fun with a big group of people. It can be highly competitive and isn’t for anyone who might not be able to take the jolt of heavy bumping of the cars.
But I must say I’m very disappointed with the condition of the facility and equipment. The bumper car seats are in a horrible state of disrepair and some of the cars are so loud they sound like a locomotive. The facility is dirty, leaving our shoes black and dirtying our jackets, etc.
I’ve heard there is a nicer facility in Plano. I think I’ll try it next time.

I probably love 10 minutes from this place and this is the first time I’ve been. WHY???
The concept of this «sport» already sounds amazing in itself and the execution is even better! What it is is a combo of bumper cars and lacrosse? There are 2 teams and the concept is to drive around (bumping is allowed) and scoring on the opposing team. The points are scored by throwing your whiffle ball, using a scooper thing, into what looks like a makeshift basketball backboard. There is a large circle in the center of the backboard and if you can throw your ball there, you get 2 pts. Anything that hits the backboard is 1 pt.
The location is very large with 3 whirley ball courts. Each court is the length of a basketball court and can play up to 10 ppl.
Weird concept makes for a great time!!! I’ve never seen a group of 20 something’s laughing their ass off while playing!
They also have a fairly large laser tag area. For $ 5 for 15 minutes, why not play?
Long story short PLAY! It is so fun! Will definitely definitely return!!!

i almost dont want to review this place cause i want it hidden from the public. we went on memorial day and it was dead. we literally had the place to ourselves so we played laser tag for 30min. so cheap too! we had a great game master who walked us thru each game and he def added to the exp even though he was young he was very professional. def going to come here more often.

I tried Whirlyball, last Monday night, and I had a great time, two hours for only $ 5, great deal! I had so much fun, I bought a «Scope»! The staff was very helpful and friendly, the the customers where friendly. Everyone plays, and fun is the goal, and if your team wins the game great, but it was just fun to play. Much harder then it looks. I have always loved crazy game, and this one is crazy. A mix of amusment park «bumpers cars» basketball, indoor soccer, and lacross, is the best was I can describe it, after one try.

Whirlyball is fun. I think it is especially good for big groups, then the price per player is cheap and you can rotate people in. 15 to 20 people there playing 5 on 5 and rotating teams in is a good way to do it.

I had a BLAST playing Whirlyball for my birthday event! I’ve been to the Northwest Hwy location for my 22^nd birthday, but decided to revisit this fun place for my 26^th birthday. I called in a few weeks ahead for a party of 10, and it was a smooth process. I didn’t think too many people would show up, but I later realize 15 people were going to attend. Luckily after calling Whirlyball on the day of the party to tell them about the extra people, they were fine with it. You can also pay on one card or each person can pay separately, but one transaction was easy for me while everyone else paid me in cash.
On the day of the event, we all arrived and the extra people waited in the waiting room while the 2 groups of 5 played the 8 minute game. Always dress comfortably when you play whirlyball because you will sweat while you’re fighting to get the ball to score. And your legs might get bruised up by the handle if you’re not careful.
The only reason I am rating this 4 stars is because the waiting room was burning HOT! We were better off playing the game because the court was nice and air conditioned. I know it wasn’t hot because of the temperature outside, because it was a nice day out for June. (That’s rare to say…) Other than that, Whirlyball is a TON of fun and I definitely recommend it for a get together of friends.

I had gone a couple times years ago when they were on Northwest Highway by Bachmann Lake. I had then forgotten about them. Not sure exactly how long they have been in Hurst.
I love Whirly Ball. It is a really fun and bizarre game. We played with our family which ranged from middle school to grandparents and everyone played and had a blast. You can read other people’s descriptions of exactly how it works but I don’t know that any of them will really do it justice because it is hard to explain, you probably just have to check it out. I think it is lots of fun and lots of laughs. Pretty hilarious.

Whirlyball is really one of the most unique experiences you can have. The combination of lacrosse and basketball in bumper cars is fun and challenging. As a youth pastor I love bringing my students here because you don’t have to be overly athletic and everyone being in bumper cars levels the playing field. The only down side is you have to have 10 people to play, it isn’t like you can have 6 people and play a 3 on 3 game, that won’t work.
This place is a ton of Fun, the staff is really nice and lets you have fun without being super tough about the rules. Everyone is safe and has a good time.
Then if you have had enough of the Whirlyball, play some laser tag. The Laser Tag course isn’t anything too special, but they do a lot with the space they have and it didn’t stop my group from having an awesome time!
I definitely recommend going here!

This is such a great place to take the family or a group of friends for some REAL FUN. Whirlyball is a basic combination of bumper cars, Lacrosse and basketball. Two teams of 5 folks play against each other on the court. Let the games begin. Not for the whining, injured or less than competitive, this one is a blast and trust me, you will get bumped and moved around. I highly recommend this for folks who need to get something off their chests or clear their minds. This is supposed to be for older kids but each time I go, they are a bunch of insane adults playing. I love it.
BTW, you rent the courts for an hour or how many hours you can afford.
