We love Spangle’s and eat there at least once a week. Love the Monday night half-price burger option. I frequently get texts offering different sandwiches, so we like to take advantage of those. Never had a problem until last night. My granddaughter and I wanted to try the Chicken Club for $ 1.99(with purchase of fries and a drink) and were informed by the drive-thru clerk that we could only have one. I told him that the text did not specify«Limit one», but he insisted, so we drove down the street to Sonic. I hope in the future that the texts will be more specific.

Spangles in Topeka, Ks Wannamaket location. Bad vibe in that place. Greeted with the White Supremacy look you in the face unfriendly snarky look. I was done when my sandwich was tossed out the kitchen. Brought it back… manager treated it as though I should not be upset when my food Is played with. «Sorry for the inconvenience» He said as he reluctantly refunded my money. Never to eat there again!!!

Who put the bop in the bop she-bop she-bop? Rene Steven did! Not only is Rene Steven a successful restauranteur, she also happens to sing bass in a doo-whop group ironically called Mickey D and the Doo-Whoppers. Legend has it Rene Steven was inspired to create Spangles in a 50s diner fashion after seeing a vision one night after a particularly heavy session of «yip-de-dip-de-dip”-ing during a performance of the doo-whop classic«Blue Moon.» Whether it was heavenly inspiration from this rare moon phase or a simple case of a lack of oxygen is still not clear. All I know is the Western Burger is the bee’s knees. (Author’s Note: only the part about the Western Burger is true.)
