I saved up a few of my new experiences and plan to add them all at once. Please forgive. Let’s start with Faraway Faces. I hired Rhiannon to serve as the face painter for my now 3 year old’s birthday party. The good thing is that she has competitive pricing. I paid $ 10 for travel from Hutto to Round Rock and $ 50 per hour for face painting. She can do about 12 kids or so in one hour. I had booked her for a 2−3pm session. Even so, she didn’t show up until 3:30pm. I called the listed number for the business at 2:30…yep, that’s right folks, she didn’t even bother to call when she was late… her husband answered and told me he’d get in touch with her because she wasn’t home. Great. She calls back and states that she’s had a blow-out. Understandable… but if she had a cell why wouldn’t she at least call to say she was going to be late? Anyhow, she says she can be to my house in 15 minutes…30 minutes pass and I call back and she is «right down the street» from my place. At 3:30 she strolls up and is apologetic. Even so, I didn’t get any type of discount for her tardiness. If you ask me, I think she had just gone about her day and forgot about her booking. Either way I made damn sure she worked her entire hour, I got the kids’ faces painted, I had my face done, then I had the kids go back and get their other cheek done and the adults had their arms done. By the time she left, she had a crowd of happy kiddos! The face painting was great and had she been on time or at least called she would have gotten 5 stars. I don’t have her web address, but you can google her and she comes up. We found her on Craig’s List.
