I tried giving this restaurant a half a star but it wouldn’t let me. Over the summer my brother and I flew in from different parts of the country to visit our parents and experience some delicious seafood on the Cape. Well shoot we should have never picked Ocean. This was by far the absolute worst sea food I have ever had. The service was crappy for one, which is half the battle, and the tuna I order tasted like cat food they heated up in the microwave and formed into fish. I currently live in Dallas and this was my only dinner to get fresh New England sea food. Guess it’s my own fault for choosing the worst place of all time in Massachusetts to get seafood. Save yourself the money and go elsewhere.

The food is ok but the service is horrible. Got here at 6:30 on a Friday, three other tables, took 65 minutes to get our apps(stuffed quahogs and mussels). When we asked our server about the delay we were told there are only two guys working the kitchen and they have to service the restaurant ANDTHEPRIVATECLUBUPSTAIRS. Either staff accordingly or tell people coming to the restaurant. Hard to make four kids wait 90 minutes to eat. WILLNOTRECOMMENDTOANYONEANDWILLNEVERCOMEBACK… too many other options in Hyannis and surrounding areas to deal with this nonsense.

Took our large party last minute, which was very much appreciated. Server was friendly and covered every table by herself without ever appearing frazzled. However, they don’t give any bread to the table and we had several hungry kids. The chowder came out quickly but the other appetizers took really long. We waited an hour and a half for our meals. Most of them were delicious. The chef did come and apologize but an offer of a drink or dessert would have been nice. Also, no candle for our son’s bday dessert — they don’t have any. We were all tired of sitting at that point anyway so skipped dessert all together. The food was very good so maybe it was an off night.

I moved to Yarmouth about 6 months ago and I’ve been here at least 4 times now. Everyone is very nice and welcoming, even though it seems intimidating to walk into. The drink menu is stunning. Me and my girlfriend shared 2 drinks off the drink menu before getting on the ferry to Nantucket, and it was perfect. They have great specials everyday, and I’ve also ordered food for take out, and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Impressed with how fantastic the food and staff is. I am so pleased to have found this place for the quality it truly is without the tourist trap prices like everywhere else… It’s really refreshing! I loved sitting on the patio watching the commercial fishing boats unload their catches– awesome entertainment! :) I can’t wait to go back and explore more of the menu!

There are other foodie places in Hyannis but skip the popular reviews and try Ocean’s. Amazing seafood, nice bar and great service. I had the Fisherman’s Platter and yup it is fried. It is also so full of fresh seafood you will be hard pressed to compare it to anything you have ever seen. Fresh scallops, shrimp, cod and more fried clams and fries than you can eat. You’re on vacation. Have a drink and give it up!

Fried clams were not that good. The broiled scallops were great. Seating was quick. We had reservations, but they were ready if we didn’t. We ate at 6:00 on a Friday night in mid July.

Amazingly bad experience. Visited Friday before the 4th of July, and when we walked in I was surprised the place was only half full. Still based on good food reviews on Unilocal we figured we just lucked out. We were wrong. The service was the worst I have ever experienced in my 30+ years of eating out. We could get nothing, not even water, after 45 minutes. We managed to put an order in 30 min in, and after hearing nothing beyond that asked to see the manager(Jen). She informed us she was«too busy». The place was no more than half full. Of course we left but I would suggest NEVER going there.

Can I review just a Bloody Mary? Absolutely tremendous! Can I get it in a pitcher please… Pleasant, friendly staff! Would highly suggest a stop for one or six

Never been there yet they had no Unilocal entry to prove their effectiveness. So– here it is and Unilocal away. Interesting how Unilocal can’t be squelched like a Facebook page…

Why would I give a restaurant with such good food such a bad review. Everything else was bad. Outdoor eating area plain cement floor, bare cheap tables, dirty salt and pepper shakers. Ok but entrees are 18.95 and more. First menus were sticky. Then the service. Had to ask about specials. Brought my husband requested water but not for me as I had a drink. We then sat staring at road for 20 minutes. Needed water would have liked bread but could find waitress. Food arrived after ½ hour. Since no salad came with pasta asked if bread did. Was told you had to request it. I said there was nothing on menu to say that and was told at their other restaurant same thing. Guess I will not go there. My stuffed mushrooms were described as having ricotta, prosciutto and spinach. They were beautifully prepared but lacked the prosciutto. I tried to find waitress to return food because they were bland without meat. Couldn’t find waitress so ate them. Had ask for cheese with pasta. Never had this happen before. Too bad good food spoiled by totally negative experience

Folks, Barbara L. is right. The former restaurant at this site was called Ocean and there may be some reviews on here, for the PREVIOUS restaurant. Please do not get them confused or shy away from Ocean 235 because of them. My experience at the former Ocean was just so-so. I’m dying to try OCEAN235; I’ve had some interaction with the new owner and he is very nice, knowledgeable and focused on his restaurant. Everything you would want new ownership to be. successful! I love outdoor patios and this one was very nice, and the location convenient. Looking forward to trying some Italian dishes and seafood here, before summer is over…

Positive is that they allow dogs. Kids meals ok ample amount. As far as my entrée seafood trio not a whole lot of crumb and way too much butter and scallops undercooked. Waitress seemed to forget about us consistently had to ask for her. Restaurant was slow and food still took forever.

This is not the old Ocean’s, Ocean 235 is hip, has a great ambience and even better food. What a great place to enjoy a perfect martini and great seafood. No need to suffer with beer in a can or plastic cup to be near the water and having fun as many places do. The seafood is great, the Italian dishes are great, the service is great. It’s just a really fun, great place.
