Ice cream is ice cream. A big thumbs down for appealing Barnstable Brewing’s permit to operate.

SO I didn’t partake in the ice cream, but we had a group play mini golf which I haven’t done in ages and we had a blast. It’s a really pretty course with some challenging holes, but it’s definitely fun. CASHONLY Reasonable price. Fun night out — nice to do something different. The ice cream sure did look tasty.

A Par-tee freeze wrote a «compliment» calling me a dummy. What else would you expect from this low rent crummy tourist trap. Like I said in my original post… we were not told about the large group ahead of us till after paying. The layout does not allow to «see them» ahead of time. The no refund sign is knee high and not easily visible. You walk in parallel to the sign, not verbally informed of this policy, and you really don’t see it until walking in from the course(after paying)…so f*** you. Dummy.

Run of the mill soft serve with slightly stale Krunch Cote. But, it’s cheap, so(in the immortal words of James Cromwell) «that’ll do, pig.» Open late on the weekends, your swirl lust gets sated by a froze hut that feels like it’s been around for decades. Specialty cones come in one size and get no topping treatment, while standard flavas can be dipped, topped or Coted for free-ninety-nine. Much appreciated, as the size of the swirl is nominal for a $ 3.25 small(and I do mean small) cone. Her cherry dip was fine, my Krunch Cote was fine; it’s a whole palace of fine. I wish the folks working didn’t make me feel like I was pulling teeth by placing an order. We’re nice people, honest! Mini-golf in the wings. Ample parking. Alliteration.

The best soft serve around! Get the crunch coat. Mmmmmmmm. I like the vanilla/coffee twist over the vanilla/chocolate. Watch the mini-golfers or play yourself! My family has a little competition going that spans the years. The locals love it as much as the tourists. A must stop locale!

Some places you go to and a large cone will set you back 10 bucks. A large dream cone here is, are you ready for this? 4.25! That my friends is a steal. There’s also a mini golf centre attached to it as well. That wasn’t open yet.

It’s not summer until I get my ice cream from here! It’s my favorite place! I only didn’t give it five stars because the service is slow due to the flighty teen girls working there.

Three of us went here today, my sister(who lives on the Cape), my partner and myself. We were anxious to try the old fashioned dipped soft ice cream as we all used to have it as kids. All I can say is that it was awful. The chocolate dip had no flavor at all. In fact, when I bit into it, it tasted like wax. I didnt want to be a complainer so I didnt say anything until my sister and partner both said their’s were awful. I was relieved because I thought it was me. We peeled off the waxy coatings and even the ice cream was bland. I am guessing that the good reviews this place has is because of locals with warm, nostalgic feelings about it. However, if you want good ice cream in this part of the Cape, go to Katie’s.

Ice cream in February on Cape Cod! Before any tourists make their first trek down here at the end of April… before you have to pay to go to the beach… before winters even over!!! The BEST ice cream shop around posts a small ad in the Cape Cod Times, letting you know… the good times are about to roll! Growing up on the Cape, it was an annual tradition to go to Steve and Sues on opening day as a reminder that warm beach days are just around the corner. The ice cream cookie sandwiches in the baggies to go are delicious and huge and always find room in my freezer. The strawberry sundaes are to die for and usually the go to. My buddy raves about their lobster roll any time we talk about lobster, however I have only tried their ice cream.

Par-Tee Freeze is a great place for soft serve ice cream. I’ve always enjoyed their chocolate-vanilla swirled cones(especially when dipped in the chocolate hard shell!), but was pleasantly surprised to learn tonight that they have a whole variety of delightful ice cream flavors. I’ve never seen another soft serve shop venture out of the chocolate, vanilla or swirl variety. Also, they are quite generous with their jimmies and other toppings. If you like soft serve, Par-Tee Freeze is the place to go!

The Cape is awash in ice cream shops. And you know what? Many of them are far better than Steve & Sue’s Par-Tee Freeze… BUT… the Par-Tee Freeze has dipped cones. Dipped cones you ask? Ok I’ll tell you. Because you’re probably thinking of ice cream cones dipped in chocolate or other goodies, but that is not a true dipped cone. I’m talking about soft serve dipped in the magic shell topping. Vanilla soft serve with a cherry dip is my absolute favorite kind of ice cream experience. I know I know, this is sort of sacrilege to true ice cream lovers who think that soft serve is bush league but I don’t care. Sadly after a day of traipsing around from amazing ice cream parlor to amazing ice cream parlor, all my friends had their fill of dairy goodness but I was left kicking dirt. Until we rolled past the Par-tee Freeze and discovered that they not only have a bajillion soft serve flavors but they offer cherry, chocolate and butterscotch dips. Eureka. They also have Krunch Coat, the boy’s favorite soft serve topping. I’ll be back to check out the mini golf next door and to get my cherry dip fix next time we’re in Hyannis.

Perhaps I’m just in a bad mood now. Went out to eat with my wife in sandwich. We then drove all the way to par t freeze. My wife got her cone. They then told us they had run out of ice cream. I don’t understand how an ice cream stand can run out of all favors at 9pm on a saturday night. very disappointing to get one cone for a group then have her eat it alone. There were about 10 other people standing outside dumbfounded how they could have no favors on a Saturday night. Can you imagine giving ice cream to one member of a party and then saying«$ 3.» What if it was kids?

I only played putt-putt here so I won’t comment on the food. What to people in Cape Cod do on an overcast and slightly rainy July 4th? They play putt-putt at Steve and Sue’s. Well, at least I do since my wife and I were the only people on the course that day. It’s $ 8/person and at that price, I was literally expecting moving obstacles and a golf pro to help me on my putts. However, they do let you play as much as you want for that $ 8 so that kind of makes it reasonable as long as you play at least twice. The course is somewhat difficult and the obstacles are kind of cool; however, the one main complaint is that I don’t think there is enough room to putt comfortably on almost every hole. I felt as though I was going to hit the back wall every time I teed off. The course could also use a modernization upgrade and resurfacing the greens would be nice. Putt putt is a great beach activity and this place is an all right place to do it.

It’s a flash back in time to the old fashioned ice cream shop with a mini golf course attached. Granted the course isn’t too spectacular considering 2012 standards but it’s in the middle of commercial central West Hyannis so a great pit stop for tourist. My client and I made our way there as she had never tried a Frappé! She loved it and I got my usual when getting soft serve, a twist!

Cute, cute local spot. If you’re an outsider, you will know that you are. I was definitely an outsider. Went on the first day it opened this past February to a long, long line of people. Lines that went into the parking lot(though that didn’t stop drivers from nearly driving into the crowd to park!). Lobster rolls, chowda, and soft serve! Soft serve is pretty basic — vanilla, vanilla choc swirl, a few others. You can get sprinkles, hot fudge, chocolate shell, and their specialty — crunch! Crunch is kind of a peanut buttery, kind of cereally, kind of crunchy topping that’s good but messy to eat. Not upscale but since when did soft serve have to be upscale? This is the kind of establishment where there is a tower of marshmallow fluff visible from the counter. Cheap-ish. No place to sit(may I suggest your car?) but fun nonetheless.

Nothing says Summertime on the Cape Cod like a visit to Par-Tee Freeze. When I hear from friends still living in Hyannis that Steve & Sue’s opened for the season I tend to miss«home.» Their Krunch Cone is insanely good — and one that I’ve been ordering since I was a little bit. Even though I’ve been going 30+ years, I have yet to get bad service or be floored by price increases. Definitely check this place out, it’s worth driving up and hanging out in the parking lot to munch on your cone and people watch.
