Just moved to Hyde Park and had been in here before to see a friend’s band play, but had never eaten there. We decided to give the wings a try, since they seemed pretty serious about them — and we were impressed !! There were about a dozen choices of wing flavors — we tried the medium hot buffalo style wings and a sweet thai style wing. Both were excellent and distinct — great crispiness without being overdone and the sauces were great. The service was also excellent — with the bar tender bringing out samples of two different«heats» of Buffalo wing sauce to make sure we were getting the level we expected. And the final bill was very very reasonable — roughly $ 30 plus tip for two small wings, mozzarella sticks and 4 beers — I think Master McGrath’s may become one of our regular local hangouts. My only suggestion would be a wider selection of draft beers — adding in Harpoon IPA or Long Trail Ale on tap would be an EXCELLENT move.

Awesome tips, wings, and nachos. Drinks are cheap and well prepared. Very friendly staff and regulars made my wife and I feel most welcome.

A good local bar. I met a friend there based on location, and will do so again, but may not otherwise. I was after kitchen hours so I missed the awesome wings I’ve hard of. They had a good selection at the bar, especially Shipyard Pumpkin on draft. The crew including staff and customers were friendly and it had a good atmosphere. Watching games there is awesome I’m sure. I felt apprehensive at first when I saw the outside décor, not much, but it’s all good.

Good local bar. It definitely has a group of loyal locals who frequent the place(and I did feel a bit awkward when I first walked in.. . I felt like I was the only person in the bar who did not know everybody) yet you cannot argue with the prices or the great customer service. The bartender was friendly and attentive. Although be warned. There are only three tables in the place. So be ready to sit at the bar and make friends with the locals. :)

I love this place. Great wings and great service. Definitely a bit of a «townie» bar but once you show your face a few times the regulars warm up to you. I would recommend this bar anytime you want a good drink or just good food.

This bar has been making my summer better. I’ve found myself in Hyde Park a few times over the past couple of weeks and the cheap drinks and friendly bartenders have always been there to greet me. I’ve even been able to participate in a few free buffets and the food is pretty tasty. But seriously, the service is great here. The bartenders seem to really want to talk with and take care of you — one of them called me a cab a few weekends ago and walked me out to it! That’s what I like to see :)

It is not easy to gain access to this place. I arrived here at noon on a sunday, eager to start a UYE day drinking campaign. The door was locked, and the windows were opaque. I wasn’t sure if the bar was abandoned, closed, or if they were just unwilling to accept my business. Moments later, what could only be a «regular» sullenly unlocked and opened the door for me. I asked«are you open?» and got an affirmative grunt in response. Master McGrath’s is actually quite spacious and clean; the bar has about 15 seats, and is well-lined with small flat-screen TVs, the better to see the Sox beat the snot out of the O’s. They have an internet jukebox, and a popcorn machine for free snacking. I knew right away that I was in a bar frequented almost exclusively by regulars; the surprisingly cute female bartender was eager to prepare drinks for the customers walking *in from the back door* before they sat down. I received a fairly standard silent-treatment half hour, followed by a cautious inclusion in some casual conversation. Being a gregarious individual, I soon was laughing and chatting with the regulars, and even had one of them buy me a drink, a favor I returned later. I was not able to get a Jameson — the man who bought me the drink explained that«if there’s a bottle of Jameson, I’ll drink it all.» Of course, I didn’t know if he was a manager, owner, or regular customer, but he is apparently important enough to the management that in an Irish pub, they don’t stock Jameson. The buffalo fingers are top feckin’ shelf. Definitely worth ordering. Hyde Park is a neighborhood that could use some more folks making the trip down to see. Lisa, the bartender, is cute and friendly, and will chat you up about shark week. All in all, not a bad way to spend three hours on a Sunday afternoon.
