Generally, thrift store shopping involves going to at least 6 different shops across town and having an entire day to browse. In Idaho Falls, most people all donate their things to DI, streamlining the process immensely. Unlike Goodwill, DI isn’t a for-profit venture and their prices show this — I’ve seen people come out with 6 blouses, a dress, and a pair of shoes for $ 25. You can’t argue the prices, which can be annoying at times when someone obviously got a little too sticker happy with the $ 3 tag, but it’s never price gouging. The place is generally very well-cleaned and there are always staff available to help. The DI in Pocatello tends to have a better clothing selection, being next to a university, but you can definitely purchase from here and feel like you’re very much in fashion.

When you forget your pants, DI comes to the rescue. Perhaps I should elaborate… I was indeed wearing pants when I stopped off in Idaho Falls on my way out to farm country for the weekend. I just didn’t have dress slacks(hastily packing lends itself to missing items) and I needed to find some. $ 6 later, I was a slick pair of black slacks heavier. Bam. That’s how you do it. Oh, and also a pair of jeans and a blazer. First clothes I’ve purchased all year… gimme a break. It’s not a particularly nice store, nor is it a particularly great store. But it’s a DI and that’s what you’re after – a giant game of hide and go seek, where the employees hide treasures and you seek them. It’s got all the requisite parts, though. Men’s clothing, women’s clothing, toys, books, crafts, housewares, and so on.

This DI seems to always have broken junk and garbage. I really feel like they need a better filtering system and throw more things away rather than putting trash on the shelves. Also the pricing is extremely inconsistent, especially for clothes. I found an old sweater for $ 7 when other sweaters in better condition were $ 3.

The better of the two thrift stores in town. Craft supplies seem to be in extraordinary abundance at this location.
