I have been going here for years, when I’m in town. It has great/authentic flavors, not the«bland flavors» that most restaurants turn into. Small mom and pops that appreciate the business. A definite recommend!!!

The meal was ok nothing special at all. I was hoping for incredible flavors from reading the reviews but it really fell short could have gotten a better meal at a mall food court. Portion sizes were small for the money plate was all rice. Couple next to my came in with their dog I do not like animals inside the restaurant I’m eating in its just unsanitary and against the Heath codes this was not a service animal

What a nice surprise! We were traveling back from Yellowstone trip, have been longing for a good Chinese meal. Every single dish was tasty and authentic(note: we ordered from the Chinese menu). Strongly recommend. Definitely a gem in Idaho Fall.

Best Asian I’ve ever had. Period. This really IS a mom and pop restaurant. Pop cooks and mom waits tables.(They are paying for their sons college). They have no steam tables so everything is cooked to order. Their menu is expansive and if you want too difficult a dish, there is no problem. In addition, once you order something, Jenny won’t forget for the next time. I recommend their fried mushrooms and green bean buns. I’ve also enjoyed other dim sum items, including the pot-stickers. I am a creature of habit and I always order the same thing so I can only personally say that the shrimp with veggies and noodles, medium hot are fantastic. It’s not on the menu but it’s all I order because it’s so good! I have heard others say that their sweet and sour chicken. isn’t great but it seems that I hear that from people who love the over breaded type and Mings is lighter and more traditional. DONOT let the restaurant condition fool you. it is shabby and worn but the food is fresh and tasty and absolutely worth trying. p. s. the kiwi bubble tea is FANTASTIC!

I have eaten at my fair share of Chinese restaurants and not one has ever compared to Ming’s Eatery. They have excellent food. Highly recommend the Burmese Noodle Soup and coconut rice. In addition this is an establishment that is proudly run by a husband and wife duo, that bring a new level to hospitality. They always remember me even if I haven’t been there for months.

My wife and I just ate there for the first time. Our search for great Chinese food is over now. Neither of us have ever had better Chinese food in the U.S. It tastes authentic and is an excellent price. It is less expensive than other Chinese places and so much better. We might become regulars here, and we don’t even live here!

The first thing you notice upon walking in is the smell– and it’s not a good one. I would describe it as a dirty mop bucket smell. We ordered the dim sum since it cannot be found anywhere else in Idaho Falls and were disappointed to see that it looked and tasted like a ready made, freezer meal. My daughter ordered the beef noodle soup and we were told it would be similar to phở but it wasn’t. So that’s what we get for trying to order Vietnamese at a Chinese restaurant. My husband had the chicken and mushrooms and it was a plain, mediocre stir fry with white button mushrooms. I had the glass noodle soup which was fine but not worth coming back for considering the dirty smell of the restaurant. I found the other reviews for this restaurant to be extremely misleading. If you are looking for good Chinese, go to Yummy House right around the corner.

My sentiments about Happy’s, which I rate at about the same level, apply here as well. Here’s what I wrote about that place: – Unlike just about everyone else who will ever eat here, I’m actually Chinese. This is basically your standard greasy Americanized sweet-and-sour MSG«Chinese» food place, AKA Panda Express with table service. To be fair though, this is about as good as Chinese food(or any Asian food) gets in Idaho Falls, which is an awful food town even for small town standards. If this place was located in NY/SF/LA it’d be 1⁄5 for sure, but I’ll be generous and give it 3⁄5. – Yep, pretty much the exact same thing here.

I was born and raised in Idaho Falls and have followed Ming and Jenny around eating their delicious food since I was knee high. When they opened Ming’s Eatery I found my second home. The food is always fresh and impeccably executed. The love Ming puts into that wok is simply unrivaled, and the hospitality Jenny serves up reminds you of being in your mothers kitchen. The restaurant is quaint and peaceful, even when full of patrons. The décor inside is largely comprised of their sons artwork from when he was a kid(yet another home style aspect sure to comfort the soul). Every time I come home to visit, I am sure to make multiple visits during my trip. Their dim sum rivals some of the best I find around Seattle. If you enjoy phở or noodle soups, be sure to snag the Burmese noodle soup… guaranteed to cure what ails ya. The mandarin chicken is another spectacular dish for all you sweet and sour lovers. If you like the spicy side, be sure to check out the cilantro chicken(don’t be afraid to ask for extra spicy). I have literally eaten through the entire menu and haven’t found anything I dislike. Take your family or friends and grub out on dim sum and order a combination or entrée so that you can take home stellar leftovers for second lunch or dinner!

My girlfriend is from Idaho Falls and has always told me how amazing this place is and how she always goes when she visits. Of course, during my first visit to IF I had to come. This place is indeed amazing! The owners are very friendly, the prices unbeatable, and the food fantastic! I highly recommend coming to Ming’s for some really good Chinese food.

As a native Idaho Fallsian who later in life moved away from my hometown I can undoubtedly say Mings is where I not only make an effort to go everytime I’m home but without fail you will find me here. The lunch specials cannot be beaten and the Burmese noodle soup is by far my favorite. It’s garlicky, noodleness is only heightened by the tofu and slight spice. Don’t doubt the exterior, go here and be amazed.

The owners, Ming and Jenny, are so welcoming and friendly. The food is delicious and healthy. Supporting a local, family owned business is an added bonus.

Look for«off the beaten path» menu items. Ming and Jenny(the owners) are from Burma and do a great Burmese noodles soup. Also try the Kam Lo won ton’s or the chow fang noodles. Don’t just order sweet and sour pork like every other American. Try something different. I have been coming here for years and have know the family for almost 12 years now. Very good people. They make you feel at home. Come later in the afternoon for shorter lines and quicker service. This place gets hoping at lunch time(12−2pm) and dinner(5:30 to 8pm) but as I say a packed business means they are doing something right.

Enter into the front door and realize this is no ordinary Chinese restaurant. It may look like nothing special, it may even look a little ordinary. Its not fancy or ‘chinese looking.’ It’s just seats table and two older owners ready to make the tong happy. If you go for lunch open up the menu and order the tofu pork. Not sweet and sour chicken, if you feel like that get the mandarin chicken. Dinner I suggest the cam lo wanton. Or the seafood medley. But really anything is superb. On those cold Idaho winters the Burmese Noodle soup will not only warm you up but make you jump for joy and make you ponder why have I not had soup this fantastic before. O how i love Ming’s. I hope this place never goes away. I have had almost everything on the menu and I have never walked away unhappy. When eating out ask yourself these questions: «Can I make this better?» «Do they want me here to enjoy the food or do they just want my money?» «Does this place really like to make food?» «Am I happier now compared to when I first came in?» If all are yes you have found your second home. Ming’s.
