We were really looking forward to eating at the original Beau Jo’s yesterday. Wow, do we regret going! First off, our waitress(Erin, I believe was her name) was very rude and was acting as if she was in a big rush. She screwed up our ENTIRE order. We even had to call other waitress to help us because she was MIA. My nephew went to use the restroom and saw her just standing there on her phone. Ok, so the service sucks, but if the food was any good, I would put up with it… long story short, every one who ate pizza in our party got extremely sick, I don’t think I need to go into details, but let’s just say I haven’t thrown up this much in a LONG time! BEWARE! PLEASECONSIDERGOINGSOMEWHEREELSE!!!

I’ve been hearing a lot about this place and I’m so glad I finally got the chance to try it. The salad bar is fantastic! I kept going back over and over. The veggies were really fresh and they had a really great variety of toppings, not just the basic tomato and cucumber. But then my mountain pie came. I have to say that the pizza itself was good(I got the vegetarian) but the crust with the honey is what sets Beau Jos apart. I couldn’t get enough of the crust and honey. I was so full, but couldn’t stop eating! Our waitress was a little flighty, she seemed very distracted but was very sweet and kept apologizing and she got the job done so no real complaints there. The restaurant itself was large and had a lot of character. Make sure to stop by if you ever get a chance. Be sure to get the mountain pie just so you can taste the crust with honey!

Loved this place. We had some time in between zip lining and rafting so this was a great place to grab a bite to eat. Server was super nice and made sure that our drinks never ran empty(even though I had a custom Arnold Palmer). Will definitely come back next time we’re in Idaho Springs.

Highly recommend this place. A one pound pizza is like a personal pan, prairie style is thin and crispy. One of the best pizzas I have eaten. Great service, as well.

Get their famous crust! It’s so good with honey. Not much to say about the pizza except it was very good. I was impressed with the salad bar. The blue cheese was excellent and the veggies were very fresh. My only complaint is that the servers looked overworked and were slow. Just plan on taking extra time. We will be back though.

We were in Georgetown a little early for lunch so we decided to get to Idaho Springs for lunch — -were we ever happy we did. A friend had told us about Beau Jo’s so we tried it — -it was excellent. The nice thing was they let you order two different sides of the mountain pie (pizza), including the sauce. The honey you use later is free and sets off the meal perfectly. This was perfect for my wife and I since I like simple pepperoni and she likes everything, but I like alfredo sauce and she likes tomato. We got the wheat crust which was very tasty and crispy. In summary this was the best pizza(mountain pie) we have had anywhere.

My fav thing to do is eat pizza after I ski! Today was no exceptions. The little Italy was more tasty then usual so I almost eat my fingers. The device was fantastic as usual! Yep recommend it to anyone after ski or any day Anna A

First things first, the hosts Gavin and Sophie are the absolute best. I walked in and have never felt more welcome to an establishment in my life. I visited with my comrade Jen, who, if possible, loved Gavin and Sophie more than I did. We asked their manager if they could eat with us at our table or if we could eat in the lobby to be by them, but he respectfully declined both options. He was a real downer. Next we sat down and a very nice waiter named John assisted us with ordering much more food than we could eat(note that I consider this a pro, not a con, as we desperately wanted mass amounts of food.)

Items Selected: Honey Cheese Bread — Freshly Baked Bread with Rocky Mountain Honey and Cheddar Cheese 1lb Honey White Mountain Pie with Beau Jo’s Pizza Sauce and Sausage Opting to take a trip to the mountains, the site of Buffalo Bill’s Grave offering a beautiful vantage and plenty of fresh air, it was ignoring warnings of «touristy» and«overrated» that I stopped into Beau Jo’s original Idaho Springs location, the food admittedly not all that spectacular though the scene and smiling service more than hold their own. Known for«Famous Mountain Pies,» and expanding since 1973 by both Super-Sizing the original and sending satellites out to Denver, Boulder plus the ‘burbs, visitors to any Beau Jo’s will find a menu of Pizzas offered«by the pound» alongside several appetizers, pastas, entrees and salads — the latter oddly offered at via bar inside a bathtub. No doubt a tourist destination, long lines during Ski Season filling nearly three-hundred seats from time to time, it was just after opening on a Thursday that I entered the spacious foyer and immediately offered a choice of tables a four-top in the West Wing was selected, walls draped in oddities and even a mockup of a gold-rusher descending into a mine. Loudly and unapologetically blaring music, the mix ranging Country to Classic Rock, it was largely with options pre-decided that a two-part order was elected, a slight delay encountered as a table of local firefighters took precedence with a total of more than twenty pounds of cheese, dough and sauce. Opting only for the classics it was with Beau Jo’s Honey Cheese Bread that the meal got started, the base reminiscent of focaccia with subtle intrinsic sweetness enhanced by a drizzle of locally sourced honey atop melted Cheddar Cheese, and left to the decision of adding even more gold stuff via squeeze-bottle the appetizer was easily transitioned to a dessert offering, a similar option available for the each dish ordered to follow. Implementing a baking method that essentially uses double-sized dough rolled over at the edges in order to create a mighty ring around a center that eats like many national chains, the 1lb Mountain Pie with Beau Jo’s Sauce and Sausage was soon delivered as my entrée and although neither sauce nor cheese was particularly compelling the meat was both ample and nicely spiced, a welcome addition helping to mellow the robust rim of Honey White crust.

Any time I’m near Idaho Springs I always make a point of stopping in for a Mountain Pie. Distinctive for their fluffy crust that you pour honey on, Beau Joe’s also has creative topping combinations. Last night we enjoyed the Sky Hawk with pepperoni, hatch peppers, mozzarella and feta cheese, and the Dude Ranch with ranch dressing, chicken breast, bacon bits, mushrooms, Roma tomatoes, Monterey Jack and smoked provolone cheese. This Beau Joe’s location is right next to Tommy Knocker Brewery, and has their local brews on tap. If you are planning to stop by during ski season, plan on waiting for a long time to get seated in the afternoon and evening. Skiers from all over stop in on their way back to Denver following time on the slopes.

Well, I guess this is a «thing» you have to do when you come back from the mountains, so chyeeeeeck. 4 hungry gals. Tough activity prior. Pizza? Yes, I was starved and ready to eat a horse. In fact, I was even getting a little hangry. Nestled in the quaint little town of Idaho Springs, it has charm written all over it. It’s the original Beau Jo’s and claims this«Colorado style» pizza. Prepare to wait, because everyone else apparently has the same agenda. You will be given a cute little pizza shaped buzzer and you can wander around the shops on the same block while you wait. I guess that helped pass time. I recall being told the wait was up to 45 minutes, but it was definitely less than. Considering how hungry I was, that was a score in my book. It’s funny though because the restaurant wasn’t really more than about half full by the time we were seated! Guess there weren’t enough staff? Oh well, we got to sit and grab some salad from the salad bar. Thank goodness. They have all the fixin’s to make yourself the ideal pre-meal salad. As my friend would say, hashtag winning. Then there was the pizza. I’m not confident in telling you it’s the best thing I’ve ever eaten, because actually, it’s quite far from it. Colorado style pizza? I’m not a fan. It’s honestly a pizza with braided/twisted edges of bread. So basically, more bread. This is a peeve of mine when it comes to pizza, but hey, I was hungry so I ate it. The sauce was lacking flavor. The cheese was meh. The crust was more like a loaf of bread and had a different texture than you’d find in other pizza crusts. Smoother, I would say. The honey they give you to use on your remaining crust was quite bland. I like pizzas that are not overwhelmed by crust and additional bread, and I like quality ingredients. This is not that kind of place, so take it as it is. Not going to say I’ll ever crave this again, but if it’s a «thing» to do here, then so be it.

After hearing all the hype, I had to make the stop in Idaho Springs to try it for myself. The pizza: Delicious, with great variety. The price: Surprisingly reasonable. Beverage selection: Lots of good beers! Honestly, no reason to make a long, drawn out review. In my opinion this is the best place to stop for food in Idaho Springs. Go ahead and try it out yourselves and see if you agree with me!

Phenomenal pizza, menu, atmosphere, and bar. The service was polite and fixed their mistakes, but their was some obvious mistakes(wrong beers, wrong size, etc.). Another table ordered the nachos, which were simply huge. I shared a three pound pizza with two other men and we finished it off satisfied. Just be aware, this is no value pizza place. If you have the dough to spend on dough you will have a great time, but for a cheap weeknight meal you will want to look elsewhere.

Great food in a cute mountain town! Came here for dinner our first night in town, and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and service. Usually, in small tourist stops, we get mediocre service with questionable food… But Beau Jo’s was definitely not that! The wait was about 30 minutes for a party of 6. Once seated, we started our meals off with the salad bar and ordered a medium sized pizza per couple. Let me tell you — pizza was delicious! We definitely enjoyed our food, and the service was attentive and great. Tip for families: Grab some crayons/paper at the front hostess stand!

It was good but it wasn’t worth the hype. The nachos were the best part of the meal. Pizza with their special crust was good, not great, and the pizza with the thin crust wasn’t good in my opinion. Probably other equally or more delicious places to stop on your way back from the mountains with shorter waits.

If I can give this place 10 stars o most definitely would! Let’s start by talking about the staff, they are so nice and so helpful they don’t rush you in any means and they actually give you time to look through the menu! Unless your glass is empty and you need a refill they won’t come bother you in a mid bite! Of course they come checkup on you once or twice but they know the right time! The atmosphere the layout the décor is wonderful it doesn’t make you feel like an ordinary restaurant it makes you feel like your actually in a restaurant in the mountains! The little town it is in is perfect for a hot slice of pizza. You feel warm in this restaurant like your welcomed! The food the drinks the DESSERTS are amazing!

Quick look rating: 5⁄5 Food & Quality, 4⁄5 Service, 5⁄5 Experience To order: Home made crust for your pizza and a fresh cold beer from a brewery within the block, TommyKnocker brewery. I’ve been coming here to Beau Jo’s Pizza for years. It’s one of my favorite families stops when we pass through Idaho Springs on highway 70 in Colorado. I only gave them four out of five because the service just ok. At times we would have to hunt down our wait staff, but it was all in all, ok. They have a big help yourself salad bar full of the basics. Over the years, they have grown by leaps and bounds, they keep buying a next-door and do an add on to their business. The ingredients for the pizza have always been fresh! Heck the pizza’s have been so good that you can get them sent via UPS/overnight or at least that used to be the case. That in its self should tell you what other folks think about this pizza place! It is sill not to book mark this place! I’ll be back.

I must say, this is one of the best pizza parlors I have ever eaten at. On my way from Denver to Vail, we stopped at Mount Evans and this lovely little town. My friend, a Colorado local, explained that we must come and eat Colorado style pizza. I gasped when I thought of putting honey on the crust. We ordered, I looked around, I saw normal people putting honey on their crossed after they’ve eaten their pizza like nothing ever happened. I thought, «OK, let me give it a try.» Boy am I glad I did. I felt like Winnie the Pooh! I mean this in a good way. If you are traveling through Idaho Springs, try this pizza place. It is much better than the place in Denver with the same name as I tried that my last day in Denver and was slightly disappointed. The ambience feeling like you’re inside of a cabin 150 years ago in the middle of nowhere is just fantastic. The pizza, amazing.
