Oh my goodness, the soap store in Idaho Springs was amazing! As soon as you walk in, you see a huge gorgeous boutique of lovely local lights hanging everywhere and a giant peaceful waterfall that goes down in shiny rocks. The whole shop has soaps everywhere with also lotions, perfume, hair cleansers, foot creams, massagers, and even jewelry. I love the second floor that also contains more and more beauty products and guess what’s the best part? They are all organic. It’s completely vegan and affordable. I ended up buying organic Chapstick for about $ 3.50. In Lush, their Chapstick is $ 18! My goodness. They have deals where you can buy soap 1 – 3 for $ 3.50 each. Most soaps range from $ 3.50-$ 5.75! Not a bad deal at all. The prices well priced and completely nice. I ended up purchasing a soap molded and shaped into a cupcake for $ 12 and a large slice of cake for $ 15. Tracy was so friends and nice. She made our first visit very well. Thank you!

I love absolutely everything about this store and it’s all natural products. And I have extremely sensitive skin, so do my kids – we haven’t had one issue with any of their products and we have tried almost all of them.

I have seriously terrible eczema and it has been bothering me like insane. The only thing I’ve changed in my daily life is that I am now washing my body with their olive oil bar soap(I believe that’s the one) and it is miraculously gone. I’m not even using lotion. This place is a godsend.

This establishment boldly advertises on their website, pamphlets, all literature that their products are ALL100% Natural AND Organic. NOTSO! Just take a look at a few of their scents: Love Spell? Cucumber Melon? BUBBLEGUM? Here is THERE description on the web: Sudsorama’s handcrafted soaps are 100% organic, all natural and uniquely created with a distinctly Rocky Mountain theme, i IMPOSSIBLE? There is NOSUCHTHING as NATURALORORGANICFRAGRANCE oils, like those listed above. The WORST part? I personally ASKED them about this, and was TOLD that THEIR fragrances WERE100% NATuRAL and ORGANiC. Again, IMPOSSIbLe! So, not only are they lying to naïve consumers, but they are LYiNG to experienced consumers who KNOWBETTER! Don’t be fooled by these thieves, ALL Fragrance OILSARE synthetic and created in labs… They ARENEITHER natural or organic. Do NOT waste your money buying from dishonest companies, there are to many out there who TrULY sell NAtURAl and ORGAnIC, if that’s your thing.

For the last 5 years, I have only bought my lotions and soap products from the Soap Shop in Idaho Springs. I have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars at a time — buying for friends, babies, family members, and of course myself. I love the Soap Shop lotions and soaps. When I started buying from the Soap Shop — Shawna and her husband pretty much ran the business by themselves. They are two fantastic people. Over the years, they have added employees out of necessity and business growth and not all of these employees are at the same level as them. Today, I had an abysmal interaction with a Soap Shop employee on the phone. I got a bad batch of a specific toner they offer — it smelled like mold and had a significant amount of floaters. Something is wrong with this bottle and I know because I get this toner all of the time. This employee gave me the worst customer service I have received in a long time. I am so upset about this encounter. Her treatment of the situation and me is making me question supporting and frequenting the Soap Shop moving forward. The Soap Shop has been a part of my family’s lives for 5 years — but if we are not respected and given the service and kindness we need and deserve, I cannot continue to be a patron of the Soap Shop. I am hoping by writing this post on Unilocal Shawna or her husband will see this message and make things right. — Sincerely and with great sadness Jamie

One of the BEST natural lotion shops I’ve seen. Great to take out of town guests, scented(or not) to your liking, and perfect to mix with wild yam cream. Beware: natural products have an expiration date. Great vibe, cool people. Make a day of it and stop by Beau Jo’s(gluten-free and vegan available) pizza, thrift store, Calamity Jane’s, and Tommyknocker’s brewery. Georgetown also nice with winery, bakeries, train, and shops. Excellent day trip!

This is where I buy my soap! and I wash my hands alot. slight O.C.D…neway.the Mount Evans pine smells awesome and the sage helped my skin! Perfect«mansoap» and better than that mass produced, over processed, chemical filled b. s by far. The girl behind the counter never says much… but the soaps speak for themselves;)

Five stars?!? Because the natural soap fragrances in this shop do not make me sick, stuffed up or leave me overwhelmed. The soaps I purchase here leave my skin feeling clean… tingly clean! They currently have a spring scented soap… which indeed sends your olfactory into memories of freshly melted snow, babbling brooks, blooming flowers and the Easter Bunny. Amazing. I also bought a beautiful sandalwood soap, and an olive oil soap that seems to have rosemary tones. The funny part is, that all of these scents in the car together smelled like a dispensary. I guess we will watch for that next, eh Colorado? A hemp soap? Visit this shop. I don’t think you can resist at least buying one soap… I know I cannot !

Good thing it’s out of the way to go to this shop, otherwise I’d spend way too much time and money here. Everything from here is fresh, smells great, and feels so good on my skin! I have very sensitive skin that is eczema prone and most of the products are gentle enough to use daily. I especially love the glycerin soaps, they give my skin a nice glow and fantastic scent every time. I also love the shea butters — essential in our dry Colorado weather, year-round! My husband loves when I get the pink sugar soap, it smells sooo good and drives him crazy every time! It’s seasonal though, like many of their soaps, you have to stock up when they make it(this one is summer only). My favorite is to score a goodie grab bag — it’s the awkward shaped ends of soap loaves that are not perfect bricks so they don’t sell them at regular price. Last I checked it was around $ 5 for a big bag of a variety of soaps. It’s a steal of a deal when they have them(they go fast, so don’t be surprised if they don’t have any left!)

I freaking am in love with this place. I wish I didn’t have to live a thousand miles away from it. I’ve visited Idaho Springs twice now and this shop is one of my favorite places. It smells amazing in there. The bar soaps are all wonderful. This time I also bought some Colorado Breeze sugar scrub, which exfoliates your skin and makes it feel like silk. I’m now stocked up for the next year. Stop by while you’re in town. You won’t regret it.

The Soap Shop can be summarized as almost every woman’s perfect store. The outside has a really cool bubble maker, but even when this cute contraption isn’t on it is easy to spot this little shop. Anything within a 50 foot radius of this place will smell so amazing you’re gonna try to slice a piece of air and eat it. It smells like vanilla and flowers and love and sparkles and unicorns. It is simply great! If you have a sensitive sniffer you’re going to want to avoid this shop. My mother for example would be unable to breathe for two full days after coming here. Good thing she is in Europe or else she might weep over the sad, sad loss. What I really love is the fact that not only are all items sold homemade, they are also 100% organic. Body butters, hand creams, massage bars, lip butters, soaps and skincare are all lovingly prepared in small, individual batches. I am a fan of the ‘love spell’ and ‘pink sugar’ lotion scents, the melt-y vanilla scented massage bar and the lemon, mountain rose and almond soap bars. Any of the items in the shop make for great gifts, but I really like to give away the rustic blocks of soap which are carefully gift wrapped with a pretty ribbon.

Love love love this soap shop! We try to stop by once or twice a year to load up, and recently took a special trip as my Mother in Law from New York specially requested a variety of their soaps for her birthday. Whether you love fragrance or hate it, they have the right soap for you. Their lotions and chachkas are a little pricey, but the soap itself isn’t bad price wise, for handmade soap that last quite a while and is good for your skin. Last visit, they totally upload us onto the lip sugar scrub, which if nothing else, is delicious. Also, they’ll put anything together into a basket or pretty gift bag for you, so it’s easy to turn a pile of products into a beautiful present. We’ll be back in a few months to stock up again!

Wonderful old school with a modern inventory of wonderful stuff. Staff know what they are doing, and conscientious about how The Soap Shop touches customers needs/lives and how it takes and gives back to the Earth. A bit pricey, however great soap and knowledge along with absolutely wonderfully balanced and caring scents are not cheap. If you want Chinese trash soap, move to Hong Kong or buy it from super markets. This place is a wonderful blast from the past where quality of product, price and living converge in a nice symbiotic dance.

I could probably stand in the dorway of this store all day and just enjoy the wonderful smells that are coming from inside. Heaven! The prices are really fair(considering that the body products are all hand-made) and there is a really nice variety. They have verything from regular soap to body scrubs. hair care and lotions. Such a great place!

Awesome prices. Awesome quality. Awesome scents. My sniffer was in heaven… and now my body is. This place is inspiring — now I want to open my own soap shop! The owner was very friendly. She even wraps and labels each soap bar — with her awesome handwriting! I was impressed. She has a ca-trillion different essential oils for custom scents. The more you buy — the cheaper it is. Great place to pick up a gift/souvenir especially since I don’t like cheesy souvenirs.

Inexpensive. Creative Scents. Low Prices. These soaps are about 40% of the cost I have paid at Whole Foods. They have plenty of feminine and masculine scents… plus gift packages. Best tip: Get a 1lb. grab bag of various soap ends for $ 5.

I kind of have a thing for handmade soap. So much so that many moons ago I went on a soap-making binge for the holidays. I’m pretty sure my family simply learned to feign excitement when they opened a gift from me. «Ohhh! Another… bar… of soap… thank you.» That said, I don’t make soap anymore but I sure love exploring shops with handmade goodies, and The Soap Shop is no exception. They have just about every ‘flavor’ you can think of, including scrubs, lotions and gels. Some of the more specialty soaps are on display in their uncut glory near the front counter, while the rest of the shop is mainly stocked with bins of unwrapped bars priced around $ 3.25 each. You’ll find a few spa accoutrements as well. While my sis found the convergence of fragrance overwhelming, I found it lovely and calming. Until a gaggle of children flocked in the front door and took over the space, so I felt compelled to leave. But, this is my kind of shop and I would definitely recommend anyone stop by for a last-minute present for a friend, or yourself. Plus, how can you not love a shop that has a bubble maker outside?
