Phenomenal burgers that are both foodie worthy and real deal roadhouse. Very convenient location a second off the i70 highway. Friendly accommodating staff made our order to go in 10mins. We had the Gold Rush burger, it was a juicy patty on a brioche bun with bacon, avocado and chipotle mayo, put together nicer and looked neat. The truffle fries were the highlight here, salty truffly perfectly just crisp fries in a medium cut. The only improvement would be extra chipotle mayo on the side!

I have no idea how this place has 4 stars. Just walking in to the place you see 24 signs and 1 white board saying bathrooms are for paying customers only. When we sat down the manager was drinking with his buddies and making fun of a lady that must have just left. The only other employee there was had been in charge of serving drinks, cooking, taking orders and busing tables. When I finally got my food it was obvious it had been taken on and off the grill. The glass my drink was in was so dirty and gross you could taste it. They also didn’t have any potatoes to make fries, but that I suppose is understandable. As I was eating my terrible meal a older couple walked in. They were asked by the manager«What can we help you with? Are you feeling hungry or thirsty? «the man replied«We are definitely going to get a few drinks and maybe something to eat I just need to you the bathroom first». The manager replied«well you are going to buy something right». The customer said again«ya we are going to have a few drinks and maybe something to eat». The manager said back«well as long as you know the bathroom is for paying customers only» as if they didn’t see the signs that are literally posted on top of signs. Wouldn’t go there again it was very uncomfortable, gross and they obviously have an obsession with people using the bathroom.

This cool little hole-in-wall features some laid-back staff who may not be rockstar servers but are personable, real humans. The menu has some great monster burgers if you’re coming off a 14er or the slopes and are in need of repleting some electrolytes. Try their epic Bloody Mary.

One of the worst places I’ve ever eaten the green chili was pretty good but the service sucks so bad took an hour and a half for chicken wings to get to my table. I rather eat a dead dog’s rectum than ever it here ever again classy even for Clear Creek

The only reason I’m giving 3 stars is because the food is super good. My sister and brother in law have stopped here once before and raaaaaved about it. I’m from Ca visiting. We were on our way to the casinos in Black Hawk and of course we had to stop because they couldn’t wait to bring me here. First the water tasted very chemically. Like bleach had soaked into the cups. But whatever we just didn’t drink the water. We ordered two home wrecker hotdogs, a bowl of green chile and truffle fries to share. It took at least 40 minutes just to get the fries and another 20 – 25 minutes to get the food. But, the food was really good. The server was friendly, but we couldn’t believe how long it was taking. If it weren’t for my sister, I would have paid for the fries and my brother in laws beer and left. The place itself is small and there was only one guy serving, but there was only about 4 other tables and 3 of them had already finished eating and we’re just chillin when we had gotten there. There was no reason for it to take this long. But I guess we weren’t in a hurry but still…

We drive past this place every time we go up to the mountains. We decided to stop by yesterday. It was the best decision we made. The staff is amazing and welcoming. The food is so fantastic! Have you ever had a smothered burger? No? Me either, until yesterday. Mind blown, game over. Any time I go up to the mountains this is my stop on the way back. Lets be real, it’s the stop on the way up, and the way back. Highly recommend going here! You have to have the green chili but I imagine everything is going to be awesome!

You want to talk about hospitality… This place is incredible. The owner was serving tables, cleaning dishes and always had a minute to greet us and provide incredible recommendations. Their taps were fresh and diverse, the menu was simple but very well executed and the atmosphere is authentic. Thanks Matt for making our night!

Just let Mat the owner and he took my order. After a long day of boarding… he served me his most famous and delicious green chili his grandma made. So good! I had a black & Bleu burger to die for. Love this place!!! Screw Tommyknockers! This is where it’s at!!!

Starving after my flight and over and hour of driving into the Colorado mountains, I pulled off at a random exit and drove up to the first eatery I could find. Luckily it was this one. At first it seemed like an imposing biker bar, the kind where Jax Teller would be doing a meet with the Mayans culminating in betrayal and a shootout, but it turned out to be a cool hangout with really great food and beer. The bikers«gang» I did see turned out to be on a benefit ride for an autism charity. Anyhoot, inside there was a honky-tonk kind of Western barroom and outside there’s a beer-garden patio with picnic tables. On Saturday afternoon, there were only a few other people besides the bike gang, who were now doing some sort of scavenger hunt involving blindfolds and sacks of balls hung from their crotch. The food was great – let me just say that you have to get the green pork chili – it is a five start dish. I’ve not had a better chili in my life. Going all out, I got mine as a side to the«small» bison burger, but I would advise you to get a larger portion. Highly recommended stop if you’re in the area.

Had a great time here just passing through(a lot of passerbys here) food was hyperlocal bar food I had the elk sausage plate and I was in heaven. Riley and Austin ruled the place with a friendly demeanor and I highly recommend to any weary travelers or locals for a drink and a meal

A fun biker bar off the beaten path. Great selection of beer on tap and very decent, not what you’d expect, bar food. The bloody Mary’s are a grandiose treat to partake.

I love quiet unassuming places that serve up crazy good flavors. When you drive west on I-70 it is easy to blow right past this place. And that is clearly a mistake I’ve been making for years. They tout the best green chili and they are not kidding. The bowl of green chili I had was so tasty and hit all the right spicy, savory pork notes one would expect from a bowl of green chili. The hubs and our friend ordered the spicy elk sausage that was smothered in green chili, on a bun topped with a whole bunch of cheese. I would order that the next time without question. The side of fries were perfectly cooked with the balance of crispy outside and creamy inside just right. Service was fast and friendly which made the whole experience worth repeating.

We decided to stop here after an ATV tour, we are not from here. Just wanted to try something different. Walked in and was greeted by very nice people, went and sat on the patio. Had drinks served and ordered quickly. — The home wrecker is amazing, the pork green chili was full of flavor and the burgers were also awesome. Beer was cold. Good patio. Good food. No complaints here ! They even had a cute dog running around with a tennis ball we played with and was very entertaining.

I’ve driven by this building for 20 years and I’ve never stopped. A group of us decided to give it a try, especially after hearing about the Bloody Mary with shrimp and a slider. I’m glad we stopped. Good beer selection and a very good burger. Very impressed. And it beats the now over-priced Tommyknocker burger. Skip the truffle fries though, not worth it. Definitely worth a visit!

Honestly it’s a really nice mom and pop pit stop. Their green chili is really good and they incorporate it into quite a few of their entrées, and the bar keep is good company and very friendly. It the type of place where starting up conversations with strangers doesn’t get you strange faces. Feels like the home bar away from home. Though. .. I don’t know how drunk you’d want to get if you aren’t used to mountain driving.

We stopped in here to let my kid use the restroom, which you cannot do without a purchase(which makes sense because the owner has to pay to have the tank cleaned out and all that) so my hubby grabbed something. He liked it so much that we stopped in again on our way home. I got the fries and green chili and it was delicious, although there were too many onions for my liking. Everything is homemade and fresh. The outside patio was gorgeous! We met the owner, he is a super friendly guy, and has a great story of how he came to own this restaurant. What an amazing adventure! Cute place, good food, nice people.

Are you looking for a spot with a bloody mary that will knock your socks off? Look no further, you’ve found it! We stopped here after an epic whitewater rafting trip because of the excellent reviews on Unilocal. Try the Bloody 14er. They make it with their house made bloody mary mix, topped with a chorizo slider, shrimp, bacon, and a veggie skewer… freakin awesome!
