Nice down home feel, no problems at all. Cabin like feel on inside and out. Just had some drinks since the other places in town had lines out the door, tried the brewpub and was very unsatisfied. This is nice

maybe its just the bartender, but i guess you need to be a townie to get any service. actually watched the bartender purposely ignore people, including us. bar is cool. good band and atmosphere which is only reason it got one star. bartender is either clueless or just a bitch.

On a quest to always find and support locally owned this is a great pick. Our girl behind the bar was awesome Fantastic Flo I’d a ho-made cocktail. Mad mixologist for sure. Go ahead … go in … you’ll be happy … PS … Stan I want your Falcon Ranchero!

The West Winds is a pretty laid back hole in the wall friendly dive bar on the main drag of Idaho Springs. W e once stopped in on afternoon after drinking at Tommy knockers up the street and stayed for about 4 hours jawing it up with the bartenders and a few locals. After about 10 Beam and Cokes it was time to head back to Denver. Our bill was so cheap!!! These folks know how to take care of you even if you are not a regular. The décor is what you might expect for a little mountain dive… I’ve been back to check out a band or two and it’s a cool little joint.

Friendly, funky, and reasonably priced, the Westwinds Tavern is a good place to stop for a cold one after a hard day of tearing up the slopes at Loveland or A-Basin. Pool tables and local color abound.
