Held my wedding ceremony and reception here in July and it was perfect. Annie was an amazing help throughout the entire process and the wedding day itself. The venue is absolutely gorgeous and supports Step 13 program as a charity. I had the wedding of a lifetime in a historical castle with excellent service! I wouldn’t change a thing!

Amazing venue and Staff! It was our destination wedding so I was a bit nervous about how everything was going to flow. Annie did an incredible job putting us at ease. She is very well organized and drafted a timeline of our wedding. This helped the structure and flow of our wedding tremendously! Prior to. our wedding day we met to drop off centerpieces, which she took care of setting up on our wedding day. She was a huge help! She lended a hand whenever we needed her, whether it was to find our ring bearer or even find us a safety pin! You definitely get your moneys worth renting out this venue. Annie also answered promptly to every email we sent her. our guests raved about it being the best wedding they ever been too! This is truly a memorable place to get married at. I’m so glad we chose Dunafon Castle!

Horrible place. They like to think they give a great experience, when in reality, they are ridiculous. Cancel your wedding two weeks prior because they don’t like you asking questions? Absolutely! Horrible people.

2012 Review #225: This venue/buildling/house/estate is a classic example of a place you could drive right past and never be aware. Now referred to as «Dunafon Castle» this is technically the«Castle Springs Ranch» and is actually still a residence; I was told the mayor of Glendale lives here. It is a 140 acre property that includes the castle itself, a very large pond, a stream, a working water wheel, and a small hydro-electric facility that runs the castle itself. One peculiar thing about this venue is that the address is actually not recognized by Google, so you actually have to write the directions down. They are pretty accurate, and it’s only about 15 minutes from C470, but it feels very far away and isolated. Thankfully they had a «Wedding» sign pointing down the steep driveway, which is littered with«private, no trespassing» signs and gates. Upon arrival, you must have your car valet parked for free by one of the attendants. The site is extremely beautiful. The gazebo where ceremonies take place is over a small bridge that goes over a stream, so guests are physically separated from the ceremony. There is a sound system for officiants, but the water wheel on site was so loud we still could not hear our cues. The event coordinator on site, Annie, did a very nice job of being in contact with me prior to the event, greeting me upon arrival, getting my payment, and even holding an umbrella when it rained. Although the website says that there is always a Plan B for rain, they claim this is by putting the guests under the tent setup for the reception. However, this would have been impossible at the wedding I played, because the reception was fully set up both in the tent and the adjoining room in the castle, and the guests were already in chairs; the logistics just didn’t add up. Fees are very high. One very nice thing is that Dunafon employs and supports Step 13 graduates. They require every couple to donate at least $ 100 to Step 13, and they match each donation. For this reason, Dunafon refers to their fees as «Charity event fees» which is nice, but they only donate a match of each couple’s donation, so I think the word«charity» is going a bit far and perhaps is just for tax purposes. 2009 – 2010 info lists rental fees(including setup, teardown, tables, basically everything but vendors and catering) as $ 9000(2 years ago). That’s very high when you think of adding food, alcohol, flowers, etc. They have a small caterer list that you must choose from, but there are a couple excellent choices, such as Epicurean and Tony Rosadci’s. I don’t know if the view and setting alone is worth around $ 10,000. But, if you have $ 10,000 to spend on just your venue, then this is probably the place to go. They will take very good care of you, have excellent communication skills, and provide a nice atmosphere for guests, at a premium price.
