Really enjoyed our visit to the Idyllwild Bake Shop & Brew, Paul was very helpful in recommending a delicious meatloaf sandwich YUM, a passion fruit beer which was really good and we bought the apple pie to go, which we heated up in the oven the next morning and OMG, it was just the best, great spot in town for yummy baked pastries, all local beer’s and great sandwiches, check it our for yourself.

My god, this place has the best sandwich I’ve ever had! Ham and cheese with everything except jalepanos. Grilled onions, then the sandwich. Heck yeah! Chef, good work really. I mean it, thank you!!! Coming back for sure!!!

This was supposed to be the trendy one in town. The chai is premade and the girl who made it put too much milk in. The muffin I had was dry, too sweet, and just not that great. I need to go back and try it again and get an espresso drink and try the scone or something else.

Awesome place in a great location. I am limited on places to eat because I am gluten free and I was thrilled to hear they had options. The food was delicious and the sandwich was the best gluten free bread I have ever had. Looking forward to coming back soon. Thanks!

Great craft beer selection! I wish we would have found this place sooner on our trip.

Despite the peculiar combination — booze and baked goods — this place rocks. The beer selection is good, but the sandwiches are PERFECT.

This place in itself is worth a trip to Idyllwild! The best, biggest, moistest and crunchiest blueberry scone I’ve ever had. It’s warm pastry heaven and it lives in Idyllwild. This family owned, Veteran owned café is a gem. Nice people, great service, delicious food, good coffee! You can’t go wrong. We even chatted with one of the owners, Paul, for a while. What a nice guy! Everyone in this place treats you like a regular, such a nice change from our lives in LA. We had these amazing scones every morning during our stay in Idyllwild, I also tried a muffin which was to-die and my husband got the AM Wrap which was so good and fresh! I’ll be craving those scones though until I can make it back there. Can’t wait to return to Idyllwild for a beautiful relaxing getaway and those scones!

My husband and I love this place and the people! Great service and super yummy food! We love the jalapeño popper sandwich, and meatloaf grilled cheese(order it with ketchup)!! And I fell INLOVE with their new invention… Not sure what they will be calling it, but it’s basically a Carmel Brûlée sweet roll !

Very nice owners. Coffee was great. It was busy from all the snow bound out of towners. Pastries were great and it was a nice little place to stop and rest from walking around. Will definitely go back. Owner and his wife are super sweet. Places like this are gems in this great country of ours.

I love love loved it here. I went all three days that I was in the area. I felt that the people working there were super small town friendly and even the other customers were great. The coffee itself tasted awesome and I will definitely go back next time I’m in town. I HIGHLY recommend. Oh and I lived in Seattle for a long time, I’m super picky about my coffee and lattes.

I really wanted to love this place. Seemed like such a cool place. To their defense I did not try to pastries. But let me give you a little info: Pros: Cute. Nice view of the street and cool place to people watch if your near the window. Wifi. Good coffee drinks. They serve Beer. Cons: First and foremost a cook spewing out profanity while talking to her friend that did not even work there… she was just visiting. I don’t care how cute your place is, I don’t want to hear your stories about your boyfriend and hear your profanity emanate across the restaurant while I’m trying to enjoy my food. It’s unprofessional. And frankly I wouldn’t want my employees using my money to be chatting to their friends when they should be working. And to top it all off, the grilled cheese was bland. Overall, I really wanted to like this place but was very disappointed especially after reading all the«great» reviews.

Happy 1 Year Anniversary to our favorite bake shop! This place is truly something special. I’m not sure if it’s the mini caramel apple pies that my wife and I are addicted to, the tiny wooden stove-set that my 2 yr old loves to play with while we eat, or the smiling faces that were always greeted with, but something about this shop became an instant favorite of ours. Congrats again to the amazing crew here and we’ll be back for many years to come.

We loved this little place. Mini apple pie was the best I ever had(sorry, Julian). Pastry by itself was really good and the apple were right crispness and sweetness. Amazing bakery.

This town is super cute and this bakery is super nice — I loved the ambiance and the owner — the baker was delightful. I’m a complete coffee snob and the latte was better than expected. The cinnamon roll(would you like that warmed) was perfect — to quote Arnold«I’ll be back»

I absolutely love this shop! My first visit was last November. I ordered a latte and a flourless breakfast muffin. This weekend’s trip included a apple boysenberry pie(UMYES) and a chocolate soymilk, which was a silly thing to order and they didn’t have it on the menu, but they were kind enough to make it work using their mocha mixture and some soy milk. The prices are perfect, the food is delicious, their drinks are made correctly, and everybody that works there is really nice. I hope they can stick around for a very long time! While we didn’t order any beer while we were there, they do have a pretty great selection of craft beer and cider!

I would give this place 20 stars if I could! The best«sammiches» I’ve ever had period! Almost everything is made entirely from scratch and skillfully with talent and passion. You can’t have a bad experience with the wonderful people that work there because they are that amazing. If you come to Idyllwild, CA and don’t stop in the bake n brew you have cheated yourself out of a one of a kind only in Idyllwild experience.

Came up to Idyllwild for a night of camping this past weekend and stumbled across this coffee shop. My best friend is a coffee addict and needed her fix before we went and set up camp out in the wilderness, so we decided to stop here for a cup. Our minds were blown by this place! We ended up stopping here two days in a row! The 1st day we came in and got two cups of cold brew. I was looking at their pastry display and was about to order an almond lemon muffin, when I saw them bring out something hot from the oven. I immediately changed my mind and went with the apple boysenberry mini pie! It’s something I would not usually order, but since it was fresh out of the oven I had to tr it. ITWASAMAZING. With the perfect crust, and the sugar crumble on top, it was delicious! So the 2nd day we went back, we had just finished lunch so we weren’t hungry, my best friend was just looking for a cup of coffee. But I saw they had mini apple pies and had to try one! Apparently they make everything from scratch here. I enjoyed the 1st day’s pastry better, but this apple pie was just as good! Love the friendly service here! If you check in on Unilocal, right now you get 10% off as well. Definitely coming back here!

Went here two days in a row looking for the maple sconut. No luck. I did find other good stuff: Blueberry scone: 5 stars. Made perfectly. Highly recommend it. Best scone I have ever eaten. Mini Apple Pie with crumb top: 4 stars. It was good but not the best I have had Croissant with ham & cheese: 3 – 4 stars: A savory treat We will definitely be back.
