We went there in the fall when we visited Idylwild. The food was very good and fresh. Awesome sweet potato fries with their own ranch dressing. I was so inspired I had to make my own ranch dressing when we got home. :) The restaurant is super clean. There is a nice patio where we could sit with our dogs. The service was great. We ate there twice out of our three-day weekend. Hope to come there again :)

The 5 stars are for the lovely décor, quiet ambiance and the delicious tofu gyoza with veggies. We’ve been coming to Idyllwild for many years, and ate here only once or twice when it was a greasy spoon sort of place. Now, it has been transformed into a beautiful space, casual but elegant. Menu is eclectic with Korean dishes alongside traditional American fare. My spouse enjoyed the French toast, while I chose the tofu gyoza from the lunch menu. We’ll be back when we visit Idyllwild again. I want to try the bibimbap!

Great find in the mountains above Palm Springs. Nice patio, dog friendly and nice people. Spicy pork was excellent as was the bibimbop. Met a nice Korean lady at the next table who said it was like really good home cooked food. She was right! We’ll definitely be back.

Came here a few days ago after fishing on Hemet Lake(didn’t catch anything, lol). Husband and I ordered the same thing – the patty melt and fries. Now, their menu has all kinds of yummy items, from breakfast, to udon, to burgers, Thai iced tea, and more. I have to say that these were the best patty melts EVER! The beef is cooked however you like it(we asked for medium), and the grilled onions, melty cheese, and perfectly crispy sourdough was just delish! Service was super friendly, our dog was welcome on the patio. I didn’t give all 5 stars only because we happened to order the same item, and so I can’t comment on more than that. But we will definitely come back!

Here we are at the Mile High Café in Idyllwild, enjoying an in-between beeakfast and dinner(11 am)…to my surprise, I picked some odd(for me) items off the menu… miso soup, French Dip sandwich, salad and Bananas Foster. Trying to go Paleo, but sometimes my brain just goes squirrelly over the radical dietary shifts currently underway, and I just order *wtf*…with mixed results. Imagine my surprise to receive a meal that was freah, beautifully cooked, seamlessly delivered and served in a quiet yet casual environment with excellent customer service and attention to detail. Urbanites will feel right at home in this modern, simple space with floor-to-ceiling windows and dog-friendly outside patio, and the well-thought out menu appeals to all ages and tastes. Owner/manager Nam will welcome you and make sure your experience is first rate. We’ll be back!

As soon as my boyfriend and I entered, in hopes of delicious breakfast, we were greeted by unfriendly and seemingly angry staff members. We stood up at the front for a while looking over the menu as no one came to greet us or seat us. After waiting for about five minutes, someone ushered us into the corner where they gave us lunch menus. I asked for a breakfast menu(it was about 10:15AM), and the server said«No! Only lunch!» Sadly I looked over the lunch menu and saw everyone else around us had breakfast menus and everyone was being served breakfast. No one came to our table for another ten minutes, so we left. I’d be maybe willing to try this place again but there are other delicious options in Idyllwild, so I’d only come back here if the lines elsewhere are too long and I’m starving.

The charm of Idyllwild envelopes you here. Friendly smiles from the wait staff, a pianist playing classic tunes, a small fire burning, great service — ambiance to spare. We only had coffee and tea here, so, to be fair, can’t evaluate the food.

Delicious Sicilian burger. The spices were mixed into the meat. Just the right amount of oil from the burger. Pretzel bun. Seriously. A very good lunch burger.

The atmosphere is good. However the patio was closed when we visited; at 2:30PM. Even though they were closing in less than an hour from the time we visited. I think they should leave the patio open until the rest of the day. We visited for lunch. I had the monte Cristo that was fantastic!!! All in all, it was okay but the hamburgers my family had did not taste like a burger. They said they make them from scratch. I give 3 due to the initial visit reception. She immediately informed us that she was off… But would take care of us. The monte Cristo and fries are good. Stay away from the hamburgers.

Good food great service and cozy environment. I was here on the winter so they had the fireplace burning which I though made the place feel a touch of upscale in a cabin kind of way. I rated it a 4 because the carpet was really dirty and old with snow being on the ground and people coming in and out may have dampened the dirty carpet causing a slight stench which kind of ruined my appetite but the food came it was hot and steamy so it overpowered the stench and brought back my appetite

This Café is not right in town, but certainly worth the 1 – 2 minute drive. The owner, Nam, is Korean and features Korean& Japanese food,(and sushi at dinner one weekend a month). Lots of American food is on the menu as well, and you can get vegan options, too. Our family has many different food requirements, requests, yet there is something to please everyone on the menu. From the toddlers, vegetarians, carnivores, gluten free, and vegans the whole family can dine together here. The food quality is excellent. The Breakfast Burrito is exceptional, the pancakes are light and fluffy. Ask for the homemade blueberry syrup. There was even home made strawberry jam with my toast! The sushi weekend(it will be posted on the Black Board out side) is not to be missed. The ambience is very nice, and there is an outside patio if you like and want to bring your Fido. (they will bring Fido some water).

Thankfully, on my current visit to Idyllwild this restaurant was just a few doors away. What a wonderful find! It’s a shame that it’s not in the city center so more folks will stumble upon it, but it’s well worth the very short drive to get to it. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and this place sure did not disappoint. I had the Portobello Benedict and it was delicious. My hashbrowns were done to perfection: «so well done that you’re almost embarrassed to serve them.» :-) Service is very attentive and the restaurant is clean and charming. This restaurant will certainly be a required visit every time I come to Idyllwild from now on.

First, Bella, your a delightful waitress and a lovely human being. Thank you! … Fresh, simple, delightful. Mile High is uncluttered and welcoming, the menu has lots of options to eat healthy(like we did tonight) or… Not so healthy, like cheeseburgers and fresh fries(sweet potato fries are an option, too.) The Bibimbap was so light and crispy and fragrant, it was my first time trying the dish and what a delight. It was served in a hot, hot stone bowl… Presentation was perfect. The house made chili sauce for it is unreal, such a perfect balance of sweet and spicy, wow! So glad we choose this place, what a treat. My hubby had bulgogi beef, thinly sliced, lovingly seasoned beef on a sizzling platter with perfectly made rice. The portions are not americanized, they are sufficient though. There was so much more we saw being brought out to other tables that looked amazing, we have to return!

This is my first time here, they have a variety of food. Traditional breakfast foods to Korean food. The biscuits and gravy are light but still has the hearty feeling to them. Will definitely come back here when I come to visit on my next trip.

We love this wonderful family-owned and operated restaurant. There’s a dog-friendly patio, where we sit with ours, but inside there is a grand piano and often live music. The menu is mostly American Comfort, but the owners are Asian and there is a once-monthly night with Special Asian Menu. Breakfast is good weekends, but a fabulous value weekdays – ask for the Local’s Special. It’s a Bento Box with enough calories to take you miles on the hiking trails around town for about the cost of breakfast at McDonald’s. Service is good if Mom’s nearby, and excellent if her son is home from college helping out. The new waiter-in-training is definitely a work-in-progress; patience, Grasshopper.

Nam the owner was a very lovely woman. We took my service dog in and she brought her a piece of bacon and did a few tricks with her. Great atmosphere, a lady playing the piano while we ate our breakfast. So very relaxing. Food was great. You need to try the walnut, maple pancakes. Mmmm. We went for lunch as well and again welcomed with open arms. Would definitely recommend. Thank you Nam for your kindness to Joy Rose.

We loved the lunch, simple but delicious sandwiches with soup and fries. John our waiter was very gracious. A piano sits in the dining room and live music is provided on the weekends. We very highly recommend this as a stop for your next visit. Say hello to the owner Nan.

We came up from San Diego just to spend the night in town. After hiking 5 miles we came into this café for lunch. It was a Tuesday so they were not very busy. The burgers on the menu sounded amazing, but we went for the Korean lunch options. I had the Bulgogi combo, the marinated beef and pork were mouth watering. My lunch companion ordered the Bibibap that came to the table in a huge bowl. The nice lady that worked here explained what the fish was and how to mix it all in. She also took the time to help us pronounce the names of the dishes. The restaurant has very clean lines and very simple. We had a great experience here.
