Didn’t have the greatest experience with A&A, but have seen worse. Originally called him out to repair a broken switch on the stove. Came out promptly, job was done fairly quickly, and he was on his way. Total charge was $ 140 after a $ 15 coupon from his website. Shortly thereafter, I had to call him out to make a slight adjustment to the switch, took a little doing, but eventually showed up, slipped on another little adapter to the switch stem, and that was that, no charge. Fast forward to 10 months since switch first repaired. This time, the stem on the replacement switch snapped. Looking at my invoice, I see that parts have a one year warranty, so I called again. Got him on the phone, and his first reaction was that I must have«abused» the switch. I pointed out that we have had the same cooktop for over 20 years, and that this is the first time we have had such a problem. I was fully prepared to pay him for his labor($ 65) to replace it again, figuring the warranty would cover the part($ 87.50). He agrees to come out a few days later. I was hoping he would be there sooner since this is one of the two burners that gets most of the use, but I didn’t mind waiting. Finally the day comes, and I’m waiting at home for his arrival. One hour past his arrival, I text him for his ETA, and he says that he has strep throat and won’t be coming. He didn’t bother calling. Out of the four times I called him, he claimed to be sick with the flu or some other ailment three times. Each time he used sickness as a reason to either postpone or simply not show up. Coincidence? In the end, having watched him remove the cooktop the first time, I figured I would just give it a go. Switched off the power at the circuit breaker, popped the cooktop out of the counter, removed a bunch of screws, took pictures of the switch while still connected, removed switch, went to Appliance Parts Center, and then put everything back together. Total time, including travel, probably 75 minutes. Total cost: $ 37.84. So I likely saved at least $ 30(his $ 65 labor minus the part cost), and maybe $ 120 if he didn’t honor the warranty, plus I avoided the aggravation of waiting around for him to show up. Replacing a switch is a painfully easy job, so just check youtube and you are bound to find a helpful video. I won’t be calling him again in the future.

This a update from the review. This guy did not like the review that I wrote and started calling our house at 5a.m. this morning demanding that I take my review down or he was going to bring legal action against us. Now not sure what to think of him.

Found these clowns on craiglist. Our washer had stopped spinning, and they came out on Saturday. $ 20 to check, but that would apply to the repair. «Tom» whose English was limited to single words, spent 20 minutes messing with the washing machine. He comes over to us, and says«It’s the main control unit». How much and when? I will check Monday, but maybe $ 200 plus $ 85 labor(all this for a $ 400 washer?). Needless to say he never calls on Monday, so I get a electrical engineer buddy to come over and listen to the beeps, and we determine, it is the DOORSWITCH! Go down to an appliance repair store in National City, and $ 20.83 later the washer works. I am glad those numb skulls did not call me back, they did me a favor. I’d be out almost $ 300, and still have a broken washer. Never would recommend these guys to even an enemy.
