Never seen this joint packed, but that works for me! Friendly, small town and old fashion vibe. Pretty much locals only scene. Good place to catch a game or have drinks with friends to relax, unwind and talk…

Stopped in on Saturday 9÷19÷15 at 10:25pm. There were 6 – 7 people on the patio, a couple at the bar, 3 guys shooting pool, a guy with a puppy, and no one behind the bar. I waited 5 minutes then used the restroom and waited again at the bar and still no bartender. I had been in the place 12 minutes and had no service. If it is busy and I need to wait that’s understandable. But for their prices, $ 4.25 for a 12oz bottle of domestic beer, I guess I’m not that let down about leaving.

Quiet little bar with a small town feel — which I love! Staff was super nice and the margaritas are strong. It’s not a very fancy place, but I like the atmosphere. It’s not super crowded and everyone talks to everyone ;)

Me and my roommates come to this bar one to two days a week because we live a block away and play in their Wednesday and sometimes Thursday pool tournament. Friendly staff and locals come here. Chicken tenders are really good too.

We live locally in IB and this place is only a couple of blocks away. The burgers are the best I’ve had in San Diego and I’ve tried ALOT lol Nice relaxing atmosphere, laid back local bar

Seems to be a bar where«everybody knows your name!» This place is equipped with TVs’, karaōke nights, jukebox and a couple of billiard tables, along with an outside patio for smoking. The bartenders and patrons are friendly. Been here for drinks, karaōke, a couple of pool games and even had lunch here during St. Patrick’s Day. Tried their onion rings, hot wings, jalapeño poppers and their St. Patrick’s Day special of corn beef and cabbage. All the foods and drinks I tried each visit were good. I especially enjoyed the corn beef and cabbage, along with the company I had during that meal.

Great atmosphere, pricing, and food! If you’re ever looking for an old fashioned American burger without the fancy sauces, fast food taste, and unreal prices then Mickie’s has it. I love their Pork Belly Burger and their seasoned fries are the sole reason I can’t get rid of the last 5lbs hanging around my midsection. My wife is a fan of the All American burger and the grilled chicken sandwich. Overall nothing fancy, just good ol’fashion bar food and good company. Can’t beat that.

This used to be our go to bar a couple years ago and now it’s the bar I avoid at all cost! The service is below okay the atmosphere is non existent. The employees are semi friendly depending on their mood that day. Why don’t they just shut it down and let a true bar jump in and show them how to run a bar in a beach town community. I sure miss the old bar and the old happy employees !!

The wife and I decided to do a little day drinking one Saturday afternoon and we found Mickies and wondered in for a drink. It was pretty small and pretty empty. Couple of the«locals» just starred and starred until we moved lol! Creepy! We were both craving a red beer. I ordered two with Dos Ex’s and the bartender brought the bottles over and asked«what was that red thing you wanted?» I explained what they were and she just looked puzzled so we just decided to play it safe and drink the bottles. We also ordered a basket of fries. ate em. drank the beers and headed onward! Nothing special about this place. just another hole in the hole in the wall.(it’s a deep hole)…

Cool dive bar in IB. Very chill and relaxing place to watch some sports and shoot a game a pool or something. It’s in IB, so you may have to drive for a bit to get here, like in my case. But I came here to meet up with some Unilocalers to start off on some pub crawl in the area. So this place was definitely a great place to start. Got in at 6pm, but there were no happy hour. I find it kinda odd for a dive bar to not have a HH at 6pm, but hey, its their rules. Not all dive bars have the same rules, so whatever. Their dive pours are pretty decent. Nice and stiff. Had 2 bay breezes, vodka sour, and a shot of Jenna Jamison’s on this visit, and she poured them pretty good. Again, they have a couple of pool tables, several big tv’s. And I really like their fish tanks. They have a couple of big tanks embedded on their walls. What’s also cool about this dive bar is that they accept credit cards if the order is $ 10 or more. I did notice that she added 50 cents more to the cc transaction, that she failed to mention to me. Oh well. Next time, make sure the customer is aware of any bogus fees. Overall, a not so bad experience here. Pretty cool, I guess, met new people in the Unilocal world and then moved on to the next bar. Cool. I also went to Ye Olde Plank, followed by The Scoreboard for the IB bar crawl. But due to my lack of memory skills, I will not be reviewing those. Just go read Maricela H. reviews. I’m sure I had the same experience. I think.

Are bar crawl started off here and what a great start it was! I ordered a vodka mandarin with cranberry. What did i get? A vodka on the rocks with a splash of cran. I was a very happy girl after two of these. The bartender did not disappoint that is for sure. At least with my drinks she was pretty nifty. Music wasn’t super loud we were able to chat and watch the regulars play pool. There a few friendly people one that told me about their Sunday brunch for football not futball like I asked he thought I was cray cray… wait but I am ha ha ha. Anyhow the football brunch is family friendly? At least that’s what the gentleman told me. I’d call and check it out if you are really interested. I think I’ll stick to bars without my kids. Mama likes to drink. I would go back again with friends for strong inexpensive drinks. Thanks Archie and Ace for bringing us here on our Bar crawl adventure :)

Fantastic service and the food is great. Good music venue as far as these kind of bars go. We’ll be back for sure. My wife wanted a girlie drink and although the bar girl didn’t know it, she researched it and came up with something even better! That’s the kind of service that will bring us back to a place. The clientele had NO hint of beach pretentiousness, one of the reasons we love IB. Mickie’s rules!

Mickies is one if my favorite stops when in IB. That hater who wrote that bad review is just a super negative ass girl. All her reviews are bad and negative. So don’t believe that review. The drinks are good and the beer is cheap and they have a really cool bartenders.

Is it okay to write a review if I work here? lol. I think the girlie down there might have been having a bad day… I LOVE Mickie’s! We have a great crowd every Friday and Saturday night, awesome bartenders that definitely take care of you and know how to make Mai Tai’s, lol.

This quaint bar reminds me of PB for it’s outdoor patio, mix of drinkers and the feel of a subtle ocean breeze without the inconvenience of hunting for a scarce parking space or of an overcrowded bar. They have two pool tables, a juke box and a couple of computers containing various games for your entertainment. This place is not party central but, it is just a chill neighborhood bar that pours stiff drinks. I recommend dropping in on a Saturday since Cap.(it’s short for something really long and when you’ve been drinking it’s even harder to remember) is the bartender, who I think you’ll find to be very cool.
