Naval Outlying Landing Field

I came here to the Commissary to go grocery shopping. I like how it’s not too crowded here. Plenty of parking. My mom can enter the base because she has a military identification. My dad is retired Navy.
As I enter the Commissary, the produce section is what you see first. Everything in here is no tax. I love how there’s so much to choose from. The aisles are neat and organized. I can literally be here for hours.
Prices here are a little cheaper than outside. I literally filled up my cart cause my brother needed food too. I highly recommend coming here instead of 32^nd Street. That location is always busy. The staff that work here are friendly. Great place to get your groceries if you have someone in your family that is in the military.

Not a whole lot going on on this base, and that is the best part! Only down side I can see is that there is no base gym (although some commands have there own small gyms) and there is no place to get a decent cup of coffee in the morning.
The commissary is rarely busy and the NEX had the essentials. The fact that the line to get through the gate is usually no more than a couple cars outweighs any downside to being stationed here.

Just a simple Naval base. Not much here so getting on base is extremely quick. Wouldn’t want to work anywhere else.

I have been assigned to this base for a couple of years now. This is a no frills kind of base. It is part of Naval Base Coronado.
There is a commissary, NEX mini-​mart (with a Subway inside), and a gas station.
The only bad thing about this base is the aging roads — it would be nice to have them resurfaced and all the loose gravel picked up.
