I grew up in Independence and went to school with the owner, Jimmy. He’s done quite good. It’s not often I come back to my old hometown but when I do, I stop by here with my family and we’re never disappointed. The food is good and the people are friendly. With all of the great styles of food in Louisiana, you don’t find too many barbecue places. This place is off the beaten path, a few miles down from the I-55 exit to LA40. If you’re coming through, come visit and you’ll certainly be glad you did.

Very good BBQ! I’ve personally had the Brisket burger & the brisket stuffed baked potato. Both were awesome!

I live in new Orleans, and this place rivals the joint and squeal as my favorite. it’s great to have a bbq place this good when I’m on the road.

Amazing brisket sandwich and great sweet tea you can only find in the South. Hidden gem off 55, they need some billboards! Wouldn’t have known it was there without an Internet search. Friendly service too!

The BBQ plates aren’t bad, but the brisket burger is absolutely amazing. With hamburger, bacon, brisket, and BBQ sauce all piled together to perfection it’s one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. I can’t recommend coming here and getting one enough!

This is a hole in the wall kinda joint. The food is really good! Customer service is good. The pulled pork sandwich and the potato salad is my favorite!

Great place to get off I-55 in Louisiana(Exit 40) for a good barbecue. Our lab was able to enjoy the outside dining. Love the décor.

Awesome. My burger safari had me in the boot of Louisiana today. I went to Unilocal and there was nothing in my area and I had to send out a hail Mary to my buddy Todd for help. His web source had a hit on the Brisket Burger here so I bee lined it to Bar-B-Que Station. Restaurants in old gas stations get 3 stars even if the food sucks. This place delivers and has ambiance. I love it. To/From New Orleans or Baton Rouge? It’s worth the 2 mile detour East of I-55…
