Golden Corral

Years ago when this was in Blue Springs there was a manager who ran the place. He was awesome. I don’t remember his name but he was always on top of stuff. When they moved to independence we were excited to be a bit closer to home and in a new building however the food quality quickly started going downhill. The manager left and then it went in the toilet. The carpets are disgusting and you slide on them, the food half the time is either over or under cooked or they replace food with rolls. Nothing irks u more then going up for your fave to find they are done making it for the day and have filled the space with more rolls. They have slowly changed things and the dessert bar is a hot mess. The food is very inconsistent. It is extremely over priced. For the price with drink u can drive to one of the casinos Monday through Thursday and get a much better meal.

My wife gave up on golden corral years ago, so i went by myself. NEVER AGAIN. THE RESTROOMS WERE SO DISGUSTING! It ruined my appetite just thinking that workers walked in and out of those! ! The food was pretty bad. The restaurant just had a greasy feel to it. NASTY!!!

Food had a bad tast so we went back to get different food… The plate and silverware all had stuff all over them! They Looked like they weren’t even washed. You shouldn’t Leave a restaurant feeling like you are going to end up with the flu or something worse!!! A complete waste of money! If I could give a negative amount of stars for this place I would!

Worst buffet ever. Our family went there to celebrate three birthdays. Can’t comment on food, almost all trays were empty. It was around 2pm. On a Saturday. One guy was cooking steak that looked good, but he couldn’t serve that until 4pm. We got our money back and went someplace else. Manager was rude when we asked about food. Said he was short-​staffed. Maybe he should have just closed the doors. We won’t go back. A disappointment… especially for our guests who came all the way from Tonganoxie, Ks to meet us there…

This place has some of the worst service I’ve seen. We barely rated our Server’s attention and the Hostess was simply rude. The food left much to be desired and the facility and silverware were dirty.

I’ve definitely been to better locations. This place was kind of dirty an I could see health code violations one after the other. It really kind of grossed me out. Made it hard to enjoy & eat the food. An how in the world is the drink station sanitary? Disgusting!

This is only for the breakfast buffet. The breakfast buffet is 10x BETTER than the lunch or dinner buffet. They have prepackaged cereal with cartons of milk next to them, french toast, sausage patties, bacon, eggs, hash browns and cheesy hash browns, grits, cheesy grits and so much more! They even have a juice machine with different juices. I tried the french toast with syrup, sausage patty, eggs and bacon. It was all good.

We didn’t even get to eat here, and I think we were lucky. We lined up at the cash register and suddenly an employee started spraying the floor mat with a disinfectant. The poor little cashier started choking and coughing. I got a big lung-​full and was gasping. We were then led to our table, but the smell and taste of the spray was still strong. We decided to get our money back. The manager was accommodating. Probably saved ourselves a rotten experience judging by the other reviews.

Might as well do away with servers start a deposit for cleaning up after urself and put soda fontains in. Really the servers only make the restaurant feel more trashy by yelling across the restaurant and openly saying how bad the restaurant and did i mention they r rude. Hate comming here its a disappointment everytime

I ate there about a month ago to give them one more try. They advertise breakfast all day. It’s not worth the trip. Nothing on the breakfast bar was warm including the pancakes which were not even brown. The selection of meats has also decreased. They are obviously cutting costs. The desserts used to be good but the selection of desserts isn’t good anymore either. This will be my last visit.

Visited the golden corral in independence Missouri tonight this has got to be one of the worst restaurants I have ate at in a while! When first arrived to the restaurant you make your own soft drink or iced tea the nozzles on the soda machine where so sticky when you served your self the beverage of your choice they would not shut off, (that’s from then NOT cleaning them at night) brought that to the manager attention and he did not seem very concerned that I had called him out on that actually seemed to be a little perturbed, anyway I went a head to go and try some of the food being served on their buffet tried some chicken fingers, well there where vein like pieces of grizzle all throughout the piece of chicken, so tried a biscuit it was well let’s just say hard to say the least next tried some breaded shrimp no flavor at all next tried some fried chicken let’s just say very greasy and then had sat under heat lamps for so long it had re hardened next just went to desert well tried some banana pudding the vanilla wafers were so crumpled up it was like a mouthful of baby puke then tried some chocolate covered strawberry not the best chocolate is all I’ll say all in all pretty BAD choice for dinner at 11.99 per person I guess I had some not so good banana pudding for 11.99 let’s just say I definitely won’t be back to this restaurant!!!

My family and I used to come once a month on the weekends and the food was always fabulous. We’ve come during the week a couple times within the last few months and it hasn’t been great. I don’t know if it’s because the weekends are busier so everything stays fresh or if they’re just slacking. Might give this place one more try…

This place is disgusting and run down. There is nothing fun about going out to eat here. Consistently sad experience.

There is food on the floor as if Cavemen had been eating here. Nasty tables and yelling sugar intoxicated children. Ok, I have had my Golden Corral experience. Absolutely disgusting!

I have had internally raw chicken (not pink, but raw) in a baked dish. I have scraped the crud from knives and forks. I have been there for breakfast when they have no eggs. As a restaurant, it’s a sad, pitiful joke. That said, the floor staff are always friendly.

–I love going to eat at Golden Corral, but this last visit was just a bad experience. A couple of parents just let their kids run lose. A couple of times one of the parents was even chasing the kid around like it was a game of tag. Manager should have came out and said something instead of just saying it over the intercom. Even some of the workers were telling them to stop running.
–I’m a big fan in the chocolate found, but this trip the fruit was mushy and kids had their fingers in it. Gross!
–Our waitress was awesome. She brought us our drinks and cleared our table of dishes promptly when needed. Good was great, but some of the stuff needed to be changed out a little sooner!

It was passable when it first opened, but now… It’s the worst buffet food we’ve ever had. It’s unbelievable how bad it’s become in 2 years. The atmosphere was also one of the worst places to visit. As far as buffets go, this is the end. The crowd was «rough» and a little loud. The place looked un-​managed, kind of dirty. The food was sub-​par, the «steak» labeled medium rare was done and just had salt on it, I can only imagine what «well done» would have been like! The veggies were over cooked and had no flavor, some were under cooked and no flavor. The dessert tasted old and half of the selection was empty. I felt bad for the servers so we left a tip for them. Please don’t waste your hard earned money. Definitely the worst we’ve had in many years.

Meh. Everything was edible, if not enjoyable. As chain buffets go, it was alright. But come on, you’re in Kansas City, the home of world-​class barbecue… why are you settling for this?

Yuck!!! Used to be great but lately its getting worse and worse. The medium rare steak is well done, the fried shrimp is hard as a rock and cold. The salad bar has a roach crawling on it… disgusting and of course its filthy! The only thing decent tonight is the dinner rolls… but u really cant mess that up! Save ur money!!!

I am the Duchess of Golden Corral. I’ve eaten there several times, but the last 2 or 3 times, it just gets yuckier.
I went there last night cause I was tired. My mind was mush, so I decided I’d eat at Golden Corral. It is close, and usually hits 3 stars atleast. I like buffets, I’m weird.
I don’t know how to describe something this gross. It was 5:00. It was Tuesday. What felt odd was the lack of cars in the parking lot. No line inside… huh?
I paid, and got a seat… practically empty… I got a plate, and began food selection. The food, most of it, was miss matched with the label. It had been sitting for a while. The carrots, which i sometimes like looked old. The twice cooked pork, was chicken.
The best thing was the carrot cake. The worse was the rest of it. The catfish was kind of good. The carrot cake was half smashed. C’mon people, manners? Cauliflower with cheese sauce, the cauliflower was raw. If I decide to go there again, it will be to make a call for the health department.
