Grayson Inn & Suites

Arrived on time to find our room had a door that would not close. You could lock it from the inside but if you left the room, the door would not shut. The manager left a very young inexperienced person to run the business for the weekend. He had to continuously call the manager to report to her what was happening, the manager seemed to be of the opinion that we could take it or leave it because they were booked. There was a fiddlers convention and most of the local hotels were booked.
Clearly the young man was trying to help but you could tell by the way that conversation was going that the manager was not interested in making it right.
After working with the young man for awhile we finally ended up going to another room which was nicer, but was told that we had to move again the next day because that room was booked.
Clearly their lack of concern for me and my disabled husband was appalling. There was no amenities offered for our total inconvenience. The young man cancelled our pre authorization so we ended up paying cash only having to wait 3 days to get our money back in the bank. The lack of customer service and care was clearly evident in the way we were treated by the staff, the next day the assistant argued with me that the door was fine and that there was nothing wrong with it, basically called me a liar and stated that she did not see what the big deal was and that the door was fine. Clean they had tried to fix it. A security risk to be sure.
The young man was frustrated and unsure but clearly he tried but was at the mercy of people who only want to collect money and don’t care about clients.
The rooms were not clean, dead bugs on the window sill and empty soda cans and candy wrappers under the bed. Clearly they either had a water leak or bed bugs because all the beds were covered in plastic and the bathrooms needed a good scrubbing. We were miserable and had to clean the room ourselves prior to using the facilities. Not once was an apology offered.
We later found out that the hotel is struggling and is up for sale.
What used to be a wonderful place to stay, clean and nice is truly run down and dirty and the poor attitudes of the staff. We had not been in the area in several years, but plan to go back that way next year; however, we will not be staying there.
Will never stay here again! Horrible experience.
