Was in town for a football game, wanted to take a cheap cab to a local watering hole to get plowed the night before, and this place worked well. Less than $ 5 cab fare from our stadium-side hotel, Harvey’s offered a nice atmosphere when walking in, cheap beers and shots and a nice outdoor smoking area where we spent most of our night. The bathrooms were a little confusing to figure out at first, because I went well after my female counterparts, following their directions to get there, and then finding out the men’s room was on the other side of the bar. Luckily no women saw me enter or freaked out that a drunk adult male reeking of Rumpleminze had made an honest mistake. Had a great time. Jukebox jumped around all night, we hesitated at first as to not offend locals, but upon hearing TWO Slayer songs not played by us, we were in the clear to drop $ 5 on some metal. Bartender hosted us nice and was friendly, shots were huge, bill was cheaper than expected, got drunk!

The neighborhood may look scary, but the bar isn’t. The atmosphere is pleasant, the bartenders are friendly. It has all the usual games/features one expects of a sports bar, and hosts live entertainment as well. My favorite thing about Harvey’s is its back room. It’s almost like a hunting lodge, with its stone fireplace and the stuffed and mounted deer. A nice room to relax in with a drink on a cold winter night. By the way, the map is way off. Online mapping sites have a terrible time getting locations right if the address is on a highway. The actual location is a few miles west of what’s shown, at the southwest corner of US-40 Hwy & Pittman Rd.
