We selected this restaurant due to prior posts and limited alternatives in the local area. While the food was served hot and the veggies were clearly fresh and not canned, there is nothing spectacular about diner breakfast choices. The staff was friendly but it seemed to take a long time for scrambled eggs and omelet to arrive. In fairness to the place, perhaps they had to gather the eggs from a nearby farm. Overall good choice on a Sunday morning!

Passed thru today and this place by chance. We had cheese burgers and meatloaf. Food was better than fast food joint. Good and nice service staff. It a little while but they were busy. Nice and cozy.

Seems to be a locals favorite. I talked with a local gentleman while waiting to order and he raved about the chicken. 3 of us got the fried chicken and it was juicy and tender. My husband ordered the double cheese burger and it was great. The people were friendly and the owner was the cook and brought our food out.

Have been going here for over 30 years. Ownership, quality, and friendliness have remained steady since the beginning. That doesn’t happen by accident. Paul’s has embedded itself as part of the fabric of the community. You won’t find much exotic on the menu, but the staples here are done right, consistently. Drop in for a genuine feel for Independence, VA.

I was not born in a small town. But this is where I’m destined to be some day. I’ve been told that McDonald’s could not move into the area, and places like this are why. Where else will the people at the next table grab the coffee pot from the back and make sure each table is topped off? To put it in terms northerners can understand, everyone here knows your name. Prices can’t be beat. The food, people and atmosphere are second only to Heaven. It’s all cash, but when your meal is under five bucks, it’s manageable.
