Salon Ami, you might have accomplished the impossible! I have been a faithful client at another salon for more than 15 years. I’ve never strayed and I’ve been 98% satisfied there. I recently received a gift card from friends and decided to use it for a massage, haircut, highlight, partial color, and brow wax. I spent just a little over 4 hours at the spa and salon and I’m looking forward to a future visit. The salon side was clean and contemporary with floor to ceiling framed mirrors in front of each styling chair. There was no clutter and all styling instruments were stored out of site. My stylist Christa was Awesome! She was personable and authentic. She explained Aveda products and processes clearly. She listened to my hair style wishes and made perfect suggestions. She was a good match and I already have a future appointment set. A few surprise bonuses included a thorough scalp massage, a hot towel wrap, and a hand massage all at the hair washing station. The bowels are padded and super comfortable and there were foot stools. I love that they maximize comfort. The brow wax came with cold stone therapy to soothe the skin. BESTTHINGEVER! Jackie took care of my massage. She was pleasant and also provided clear instructions specific to this salon. She gave three scent options and ensured I was comfortable with the temperature before beginning. The massage included a hot towel wrap treatment for the feet at the start of the session and the back at the end of the session. Often times, massage therapists fail to «dig in» with the pressure. This experience, by far, was the best massage I’ve ever had. She applied strong steady pressure and moved slowly through the muscles. Of course she provided water and was respectful of need for a few moments to reacclimate at the end of the session. So what’s kept this from being a five star review? 1. The Scheduling. I asked for the services in order of massage, hair, wax. I did that knowing it would’ve made little sense to have a massage after hair styling because a good massage makes a mess of your hair! I assumed they would have booked them in the order I asked for them and would proactively put the massage first. That was NOT the case. I had an event immediately following my appointment and had to spend time restyling my hair at home. Seriously, who books this way? They apologized and frankly I was too excited for the pampering to complain. 2. The Pricing. I’ve paid a senior stylist for 15 years with the average hair appointment including highlights, color, and brow wax running between 130 – 150 depending on the amount of color. I always know that I will spend close to 200 per appointment after product purchase and tip. At this location I will be paying closer to 200 for the hair appointment with an additional 40 – 70 in product and tips. I want to have Christa become my regular stylist but I need to talk myself into the increased cost. I don’t have grey hair yet, I can go longer between visits but I want to feel like I’m getting a fair price. I think I will give it one more visit and then make a final decision. Stay tuned!

Clean & professional, I go here to get airbrush tanning from time to time. I love the formula and Courteney does an excellent job. She’s super nice, and they guarantee your tan so you know if you have any issues she’s happy to fix it. I highly recommend her!

Not a good experience at all. I had a community appreciation card so I started with my haircut. I was told I had to stand for my haircut because my hair was too long. Then, I was repeatedly burned by the blow dryer. It was horrible. Hurt so bad. Then, when I went to pay, the girl was so busy talking with 2 guys who were there about the natural gas smell in the building she hardly looked at me. She did manage to say«you do realize that with this card you will need to tip». Well yes, I do realize that! I was waiting for you to tell me where to write it or when to do it! Then she asked me to rebook and said«how often do you get your hair cut?» I told her every 3 months. She looked disgusted and said«well, 9 weeks from now is…» I suppose my answer wasn’t acceptable. She never thanked me. I will not return. What a miserable experience. If I was treated this way because I had the discount card then they shouldn’t even offer them!

Poor customer service. The manager appears to not care if the client is satisfied. Had a bad cut at their Lee’s Summit location about 6 weeks ago and was called by the manager at my insistence. Was offered a discount if I returned, so I went to the Independence location for a root touch-up and a few foils; paid over 80. Hair was way too dark and not what I requested. Stupid me returned today… hair cut worse and now I paid 140. Cost never explained to me, so I was quite shocked when I went to pay. Talked to manager and was basically told, too bad. Lesson learned, finally. Will never go back!

Moved to the Midwest from California back in June. I have been looking for a clean professional place to get my pedicures. This Salon is wonderful. They use quality products(Aveda) they are clean, and sanitary. Sarah did such a great job on toes and feet. I am so happy to finally find a place to get my predis done on a regular basis.

I’ve been searching for a great new salon in the area and I’m so glad I came here! The appointment was right on time, which is always nice. I saw Allison(not sure of the spelling) and she really listened to exactly what I wanted AND executed! Everyone was really nice and professional. Can’t wait to go back and get another scalp massage!

Wonderful! They did a last minute appointment for me. Allison was fantastic, knowledgeable, friendly and understood what I wanted, what I needed and delivered! She waved her magic wand and made me lovely. I would recommend this salon to everyone! Also they are an Aveda salon which I love. Love all Aveda products. Also got my eyebrows waxed, they look great.

I’ve had a number of spa services here, including pedicures, massages, and waxing. Everyone is friendly and professional, and has done a great job. I highly recommend the Aveda Stress-Fix services — the lavender scent of the products and their application definitely perform as promised by the name. My last service was a pedicure, and it was extremely relaxing. In addition, on a cold, gross winter day, the staff was extremely courteous and gracious about letting me hang around until it was safe to put my shoes on and leave. It’s not something I can afford every time I need my nails done, but for a special treat, it’s reasonable and worth the extra bucks.

My niece was 20 minutes late to her appointment to get her make-up done on the 30th of December, HERWEDDINGDAY, because of a wreck on 291 shutting the road down– a literal stand-still on the highway. Salon Amie refused to squeeze her in «because she was late». I would NEVER use this salon for any service if they can’t find the compassion to fix a situation out of the client’s control.(Oh yeah, her groom was in the E.R. the night before, and a bridesmaid being treated for cancer was in the E.R. the morning of the 30th). This girl NEEDED to be pampered a little on her wedding day. Shanme on you Salon Amie.

Stopped in without an appointment for a manicure. The spa has a friendly staff, and there is a large product area. It was very clean and all of the staff members were professional. The basic manicure was $ 25 and that seemed like a fair price for the service received, which included a salt scrub and application of a warm moisturizing gell.
