Stoney Creek Hotel and Conference Center

Newer great looking location in a nice setting with good parking. Room was Ok but placement of light switch for bath room _​_​_​_​! Shower pressure EXTREMALY week. Breakfast is very lacking and after two days you will be climbing the wall wanting different. Staff friendly but not overly accommodating. Nice indoor /​outdoor pool and avg size hot tub. Hotel has promise and with a bit of effort could be ⁴⁄₅ star. ADA rooms have a very heavy door to deal with in a wheel chair and again poor layout. Think they accept pets or pets were on property without Ok because heard barking?

I recently stayed at the for about 2 weeks and every day I was charged more than what my son found and booked Most of the front desk staff were rude even though I was spending about $ 1000 a week there
Another issue was the front desk help cancelled my reservations about 4 times
When my refrigerator broke I asked the front desk to please fix the problem also about 4 times I was ignored then I was told to leave the property
The only positives are the view outside of some rooms is nice housekeeping was nice and Kevin from the front desk nice

This was a very nice place to stay & was close to shopping which was handy as I needed a hair cut, shopping mall within 1 mile.
Stoney Creek was decorated very nice, love the buffalo over the front door!
Coffee ²⁴⁄₇ which is great as my husband likes to wake up around 4:30am! He was able to get his coffee & wander around the hotel while I slept in.
Breakfast was pretty standard, only suggest I would make is to make the ‘flow pattern’ a little better, people kept tripping over each other to get coffee & make toast.
If you’re into walking/​running they have a very nice path that goes across a bridge, Bass Pro and small river with lots of water fowl. We’ll be back next time we visit KC.

This place is just plain wonderful. I had a large room (two queen beds). Comfortable. Clean. Beyond clean. The housekeeping staff was so very polite and did a great job. I wish I could name them all. Convenient to anything you need in the KC metro area. I would definitely stay here again, no hesitation. Continental breakfast was good.

Super nice hotel. We just happened to be crossing through and needed somewhere to stay last minute. Stoney Creek was surprisingly beautiful and very stylish as well. The service was very nice and the place was packed– I wasn’t sure if there was an event going on or not but regardless our service didn’t suffer in any way from it.
The room was beautiful, clean, and for as many people as there were running around it was quite! Couldn’t have asked more from any hotel but this one in particular just had very good quality beds and the décor was very tastefully done as well.
My only critique is that they could probably have a better breakfast selection– The only protein was hard boiled eggs– no bacon, sausage or even scrambled eggs. The breakfast meal of the day was biscuits and gravy which I normally like however their gravy was quite bland. I think they should try to offer more options!

It was a really busy week in the KC area; rooms were hard to come by. We learned of this new place in Independence, so decided to check it out. A little off the beaten path, it was a lovely building, with nice amenities. Interior, true to Bass Pro’s usual style, smelled like a wood cabin. I was a little disappointed with the size of the room, as we were going to be fitting 2 adults and 3 children, into a space that was surprisingly tight for two! Needless to say, the room was too small. Enough said.
Room service was lacking, as well. The refrigerator hadn’t been cleaned out from the previous guest, and when they cleaned the room, they failed to renew our coffee, left dirty towels and washcloths (some, not all), and failed to replenish those items appropriately. I kept catching myself thinking I was really disappointed.
Breakfast was the usual fare. We also enjoyed the indoor-​outdoor pool, which was, again, on the small side, but it was clean and wet, though they aren’t getting any awards for ambiance. I might go back, if we could find nothing else, but they won’t be first on our list.

This hotel was excellent! Brand new and clean. Lots of different room choices. Free breakfast and great staff. Indoor/​outdoor pool. Next door to a lovely waterfall park. Highly recommend!

Brand new, clean, interesting décor. Outdoor walking trail, pond, and seating near bar/​restaurant. Everything great, but free breakfast was pretty pathetic — styrofoam plates, plastic ware, cold cereal, the typical waffles, biscuits and gravy, crappy fake orange juice, bad coffee. Given a nicer breakfast with real plates and silverware, it would be five stars.

Nice place to stay. Everything was clean and new. I will be coming back.
