My daughter has been dancing for 9 years and she recently transitioned to this studio after having a foot injury requiring her to be in a cast for 6 weeks and a boot for 4 weeks. The 5 stress fractures to her foot were largely due to the fact that the studio we came from had improper dance flooring(concrete, a thin layer of cork(yes cork) and a thin layer of Marley). There were at least 8 serious injuries to the dancers at that studio in the past year, so going back there was not at all an option. That being said, I was looking for a dance studio where the floors were safe for dancers dancing 10 to 20 hours a week. I was happy to find Thrive Center for Dance. They were brand new and were installing their specialty dance floors when I found them. That was the first thing that attracted me to this studio. The owner, Robyn, understands the importance of the dance floors being a valuable asset to the success of her studio and the importance that it plays in keeping her dancers healthy. The next important aspect I was looking for in a dance studio was for it to be an emotionally healthy atmosphere, where she could be trained by excellent teachers and pushed to her highest potential as a dancer. Thrive has been a breath of fresh air! The teachers are very talented, qualified, and kind. The owner is God sent and the parents and kids have all also been very kind and welcoming. I highly recommend you contact Thrive if you are looking for a great studio for your child to learn how to dance & thrive! They are super easy to get to, from various surrounding suburbs as they are located right off of 294/I-55 at Wolf Road!
