Chmura’s is the best Poish bakery in the area. Grab the seeded rye bread and a sugar cinnamon donut. Thank me later.

I think the Indian Orchard location is much better by far. To be fair the store was within 5mins of closing and most, if not all, of the items I would have been interested in had already been removed from the front display cases. I purchased a Raspberry Danish and headed off to the car. I found the pastry not overly sweet but it wasn’t moist, it was somewhat on the dry side, again to be fair this was the end of the day and it probably had been made the day before, so wasn’t at its freshest. The raspberry filling wasn’t the best more like the filling found in a donut than the the clarified raspberry jelly I would have preferred and is customary. I would check them out in the future but would be sure to go earlier in the day.

One of the few old school bakeries left still in business. Since 1902, and still in business is quite an accomplishment in itself. I’ve eaten breads and baked goods from there before, but have never been inside myself. The interior was nothing special with a long display case, small coffee area, dairy cooler, and open air bread area. The display case had brownies, cupcakes, pastries, donuts, and plenty of hard to find baked goods. I grabbed a small birthday cake, dill rye bread, and some chourico. It seemed to be a blend of Portuguese and Polish items, with some meat and dairy items being locally sourced. I’ve always preferred Gus & Paul’s, but with them out of business, Chmura’s might be my go to place for baked goods. Ok… After trying the birthday cake I would say it was just ok. The frosting was good but the cake was stale in some spots. We ordered a dill rye bread and upon trying it noticed it wasn’t a dill rye, but a sourdough. The sourdough was extremely dry. Overall, things seemed to look better than they taste. Man do I miss Gus & Pauls now!

Not sure why I waited so long to try Chmura’s but I’m glad I finally came to my senses! Huge selection of pastries, breads, donuts, pies, cakes, every pie square imaginable… yum! Donuts were delicious and huge. I love ones that taste like home, not like a chemical plant(Dunks), and Chmura’s are the real deal. Sampled jelly, Boston cream and chocolate dipped. We won’t get our donuts anywhere else now. Luscious. Also tried cherry danish & blueberry & cranberry muffins. Again tasty perfection all around. The food shows the love the bakery puts into it. Service was friendly and helpful on a busy Sunday morning with a line building up. Our ride home consisted of planning our next trip to Chmura’s & what to try next time. Don’t wait to try this bakery… it’s heavenly.

What madeleines were to Proust, Chmura’s seeded rye is to me. The best rye bread ever made. Toasted with butter glazing it? Polish crack.

My favorite bakery in Wmass. Everything prepared fresh and they have a good selection of products. After I started ordering my rye bread from here I refuse to go to a grocery store for it now. Stop by early on the weekends if you want some doughnuts for pastry products, they have been known to run out if you show up to late. If you live in the area and haven’t visited yet, you are missing out.

I have been eating their seeded rye since I was a toddler, now I’m in my mid 30s. Everytime I eat a slice I am back at my grandmother’s dining room table on Verge Street, for a moment anyway. My aunts are on standing orders not to visit me without bringing a loaf.

Oh, how I wish we lived closer to Chmura’s. Whenever my wife and I drive to Springfield to visit family, we always drive through Indian Orchard and make a stop at Chmura’s. Everything is consistently fresh and delicious. They are always stocked with cookies, cakes, pastries, donuts, you name it. The staff is extremely helpful, nice and willing to help you out. We once were in a bind for a last minute Birthday cake, and they helped us out with a fantastic cake, and custom writing as soon as we walked in the door. Do NOT pass this place up.

By far the best donuts in Western MA! I do not get donuts very often but when I do Chumura’s is the only place that I will go. They also have great homemade breads, pie’s, and pastries. Prices are also very reasonable.
