This is a great local spot. The beer is pretty good, the food is great, and the atmosphere is very nice. I always enjoy my time here and everyone is always super friendly. The fries and sauce are definitely worth a try with your beer! Both the regular and sweet potato are great!

Really cute brewery with great selection, good beers and a decent food menu. We didn’t have food but the beers were really good. We tried a few very different ipas. They have a nice patio with waitress service. I would go back if I ever find myself in Indy again.

So happy to have this great brewery in the neighborhood! Black Acre has a few delicious standard offerings(Natural Liberty is my fav) but they always have interesting rotating offerings as well. There’s wine for the non-beer drinkers and a good variety of paninis and other snacks. Service has always been friendly and fast and the atmosphere is always fun. Not to mention they have great outdoor seating! It’s a gem.

Holy balls is this a great place. Usually hit it up when I have an engagement that requires me to stay after normal hours in Irvington. To say that this makes meetings go easier is an understatement. Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Usually a good assortment to choose from and just enough seats for good conversation without being cramped.

Okay– so I’ve been to Black Acre a couple different times and I wish I could review each time individually because I’ve had radically different experiences there. The good: beer selection. The beers they offer are always flavor combos I haven’t seen other places and they have tons of local options. They have outdoor seating and ita great for people and dog watching. Their food is usually great. Try their sweet potato fries with the garlic aioli(I could eat an unholy amount of these in one sitting) and their Reuben is also pretty good. That being said, my partner and I once shared a cheese plate that took 45 minutes to come out(we ordered it as an appetizer and it came with our food) and when we got it all the cheeses were a little sweaty and one tasted FOUL. I am all about that stinky cave cheese life but this one was definitely just past its expiration date. So… There’s that. The not so good: service has consistently been kinda slow when we got food. That isn’t to say our servers haven’t been attentive with our drinks and waters. They checked in a fair amount but when your dinner takes almost an hour to come out and all you ordered was a sandwich you have to wonder what link of the chain has come loose between kitchen and me eating said sandwich. However, because our servers have always been nice and patient we will go back but probably not for food(which is too bad because like I said those sweet potato fries are a true delight) and I would recommend just going for beer if you’re in the area.

I venture the brewery scene in Indy frequently. Black acre is always the top dog in my opinion with nice varieties, service, and atmosphere! I always seem to choose black acre as my beer drinking festivities location. Great place to start, pop in, and end a night of fun! I would highly recommend stopping in and experiencing black acre!

Good beer and good service in the one decent strip in Irvington. Patio is a nice place to sit when the weather is pleasant.

We came here for a late lunch on a Saturday and it was a packed house. We waited for a table and ended up sitting at the bar, which was great because the staff was really friendly and the service overall was fast. The beer was okay, there were a couple we really liked but what stood out the most to us, surprisingly, was the food. The panini’s were fantastic especially the Rueben and Pegasus pastrami.

Very nice and cozy place to visit South of Indianapolis. I visited them on a Friday and enjoyed trying out the beers they served. They have a lot of beers to choose from. Some of the beers are very good. Regarding the food, the options are limited. We had ordered potato fries. The quantity was generous but it was very oily.

I don’t love all the beers, but I do love the space. My wife likes a lot of the hoppier beers, which they do well. No matter what you like you will find something to drink on all evening. Black Acre does have a good variety of beers.

We enjoy coming to this neighborhood brewery to have craft beer or a glass of wine. We love the cheesecake! There are also panini sandwiches. Cheers!

I was having a beer and this guy next to me wanted to party like it was 1955. He started calling women«broads» and«dames.» When I wasn’t buying his antiquated McCarthy behavior he tried to hit me with the«what are you some bleeding heart liberal [expletive redacted].» Kudos to management for supporting human rights. Yeah, we get it, public/private paying customer or just on the street you’ve got your 2nd Amendment rights to be an ass… Except I have a right not to listen to you in your smoking jacket and pipe wondering why the world got so sensitive. I think this dude is going to vote for Trump… that alone should warrant a lifetime ban.

Neat place. Was very busy Friday at 6. Staff was nice and helpful. Beer was good! And menu looked really good. Tried the crostini’s. They were all solid, the bread wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but it was a perfect little snack before dinner.

Love Black Acre. It’s always interesting to see what they have going on beer-wise. I haven’t tried anything that I didn’t like here. Saucy Intruder and Natural Liberty are always good but it’s fun to try something new from them. They always have a creative line up. The whole crew that works here is great — friendly and prompt always. The fries with garlic aioli is a favorite bar snack of mine. The sandwiches are very good too. They no longer do brunch but there are plenty of other reasons to make a visit to Back Acre.

Hands down my favorite brewery in the circle city. Bottoms up to their innovative brews, friendly servers, and cozy space. From doppelbocks to coffee stouts and earl grey belgian wits, their menu continually changes, and there always seems to be something new on the menu.

New brewery with really interesting beer combos. The waitress was really sweet in walking me through the beer list. You can order a full beer or per sample at a reasonable price. The variety of favors was beyond unique. I left happy with a blonde beer in a grower. Everyone that drank it loved it.

Eat and drink local in Irvington. The sandwiches are awesome. I wish we could bring the family but the venue is small so I understand the 21 requirement. I wish they had local wines to go with the local brew

Beer– Solid. I haven’t found one that blows me away a yet, but everything I have tried I have thoroughly enjoyed. Food– also solid. Fries are delish, with a number of aioli dips to choose from. Main meals are pretty basic. Sandwiches, meats and cheese assortments, things of that nature. A little pricey, but yum. Atmosphere– AWESOME. This is not your snooty urban brewery. This is a place down to earth and friendly people go to have drinks. Ask people at the bar what is good and you’ll get a lot of positive feedback and maybe make a new friend! Summer time outside seating is also very cool.

Anyone who doesn’t like black acre is crazy. The atmosphere of this place is great. My service is always prompt and friendly, and they are more than happy to help you pick out a beer. They have several options of their own and also other great craft brews. Their food is awesome. Get the sweet potato fries. Not too expensive. Nice people. Good food. Great beer. Go there.

How have I not reviewed my favorite IPA of Indianapolis. Saucy Intruder. Any IPA lover should get this beer. No joke. In fact, the only reason I go to Irvington is for this beer. They are starting to have taps at more and more restaurants and this makes my heart hop. Hop for hops. Their sandwiches are pretty gosh darn good for only have a panini press. Their french fries are some of favorite in town and their aiolis are wonderful with them. I wish they would bring back their brunch. Their brunch was amazing. I know their chef left who use to make the brunch but I really wish they would find a replacement.

On a whim, we drive out to Irvington to hit up the infamous Irvington Ghost Tour. So, of course, we had to stop in at Black Acre for some pre-tour provisions. It was decently busy, but we easily found a table and our waitress got us drinks in a flash. Each with a delicious beer, we ordered some food(because everyone knows you can’t go on a ghost tour on an empty stomach.) I got the crostini board and he the ham and cheese. The crostini board was excellent. I got the duck/fig prosciutto, the Brie and fig, and the sun dried tomato goat cheese. I loved them all(though the tomato goat cheese wasn’t nearly as amazing as the other two. All in all, our waitress was phenomenal and gave great recommendations. We’d go back in a heart beat!

I find it so easy to get lost in Black Acre! Not because it’s big, but because I can go in there, and before I know it, 3 hours have flown by! It is just a comfortable, easy hang out, and I can settle in with several of the beers there. It’s cozy in the winter and there’s patio seating in the warmer months. They have a food menu, but oh how we miss the brunch! They have trivia night on the first Wednesday of the month; and as of the date of this review, congratulations to Black Acre are in order for canning their first line of Saucy Intruder. Applause, applause!

Irvington has several cool places but for me, Black Acre is the best reason to visit.(Second being Jockamo’s next door. You knew that was coming.) The bartenders/servers are friendly, they offer a great food menu, and of course the beer is the bomb. If you’re lucky enough to find a seat inside or outside(it can get pretty packed), plan on staying awhile. It’s that comfortable and chill of a place. I usually go with Saucy Intruder, a rye IPA. Their beer line-up changes with the seasons and they also have guest taps available. One Friday evening, the couple next to us at the bar was ordering wine, so they offer wine choices for you non-beer folk. I plan on returning soon to finally try their Sunday brunch. I am sure it’s phenomenal. There is a reason Black Acre is one of the most talked about brewing companies in Indy and why their booth at the beer festivals always have a long line of people. Stop in and you’ll see why. It’s quickly becoming one of my favorite places. Not to mention that downtown Irvington is just so charming.
