I got the fried oyster po boy and it was spot on. Definitely recommend this unique little po boy spot in fountain square to anyone searching for a cool little sandwich place

Had the Fried Green Tomatoes, Gumbo, Roast Beef Sandwich, and bread pudding. Excellent all around.

B’s Po Boys is delicious! Everything from the beer/wine list to the fried shrimp po-boy. We got a fried shrimp po-boy, beignets with chocolate and strawberry dipping sauces as well as a crispin’ hard pear cider. The Po-boys were our favorite menu item, the lettuce, pickles and bread were all very fresh. The fried shrimp was out of this world! We recommend the strawberry dipping sauce for the beignets :)The service was attentive, décor was nice. Bathrooms were very clean. We will definitely visit again!

We came here for an early dinner. I had been wanting to eat here but knew my kids would not eat anything on the menu. We ordered the fried shrimp po boy(market price for the half sandwich was $ 9) and my husband got the bbq pork. We also got the onion rings and a side of red beans and rice. It was good, the bread was good and the sandwich was very fresh. The red beans and rice were spicy. The onion rings were delicious. The sauce they put on the onion rings was spicy but not too much just right. They actually have a pretty decent beer and wine menu. Service was great. We spent about $ 42 for 2 people which was a little more than we were expecting but it is nice to have a different meal.

Went for brunch because I had heard that their biscuits and gravy were unusual! Definitely a good choice! Well seasoned, an interesting departure from how I am used to. Very flavorful and not different enough to offend my taste buds but a real taste treat! the biscuits were soft and flaky and brought the dish home! Speaking of which, all meals come with potatoes and the portions are large enough that I can have some later !

Great Southern Parish Louisiana food… I’ve spent countless hours offshore of coastal Louisiana, in & out of places like Cocodrie, Fourchon, Port Eads and Venice… as authentic as it gets in Midwest! Nice outdoor seating w a bocce ball court.

Legit Po Boys — I’ve been here a number of times and I usually get the Oyster Po Boy. I’ve traveled to New Orleans and the gulf many times and B’s po boys are legit. My preference is for seafood, so I’ve only had shrimp and oysters. The oysters are great, fresh, and well cooked every time. The bread is fantastic — crusty outside and soft inside. It’s a simple sandwich wrapped in paper. A po boy is just a sandwich, so mind your expectations. It’s not a gourmet meal — it’s just a damn good sandwich. They’ve got about 6 beers on tap. I might get a local beer or an Abita as the spirit moves me. I would not get a side — just get a full size sandwich and you’ll be good to go.

B’s PO Boy is THE place to be on a beautiful day. My fiancé like riding up the Cultural Trail to enjoy an afternoon of Bocce ball, lawn Jenga, and po boys! My personal favorite is the Creole Chicken Salad, which is loaded with chicken, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, and their creole mayo sauce.(** side note: I have had both varieties of shrimp po boy, and neither one was overly impressive. I find the shrimp are too small– all I can taste is the bread.) The CCS is so delicious, and I highly recommend it. I’m also a huge fan of their sweet potato fries– which might be the healthiest fries around. They are never greasy, lightly salted, and always crisp. The red beans and rice are okay too. The beignets are good, but I could eat the chocolate sauce by itself. Lastly, they have a great list of craft beers.

I love this place. This is one of my favorite lunch spots in fountain square. The location is small, but comfortable and I’ve never had to wait to long and the service has always been fine. Last time I went I got what I always get. I got the shrimp po boy with double shrimp. After going there for a few years I’ve figured the perfect way to get your sandwich if your a big dude. I double the shrimp, and load it up with hot sauce. The bread is flaky but crispy and soft in the middle. The shrimp is lightly breaded and fried. There is a little lettuce tomato. My only criticism is there could be more spice or Cajun pop on the protein. Alongside my sandwich I always get the sweet potato fries. They’re crisp and salty. Totally the perfect compliment to the sandwich. My wife gets the shrimp po boy with fried oysters. The oysters add s great brininess to the sandwich. They do a good job with beer, but I wouldn’t call them a beer destination. For a smaller place though, they put on some local favorites as well as some Louisiana favorites from Abita. Normally you can find a few really solid options, so cheers to that. All in this is a really fun spot if you’re in fountain square. If it’s nice out you can even play bocce ball in their pits outside.

Wow, I can’t believe I’ve been neglecting poor B’s in my reviews. My husband often plays gigs in Fountain Square, and this is a great place for us to stop and fuel up after an evening of honky tonk. We’ve had most of the sandwiches — his favorite is the beef and mine is the catfish. The real standout part for me is the bread. It’s crusty on the outside, light on the inside. Round out the meal with a nice beer(Abita or Three Floyd’s are usually on tap) and some sweet potato fries and we’re happy. The only lackluster aspect is the beignets. They tend to be kind of dense, as opposed to the light/fluffy ones I prefer. They are, however, served piping hot and with a choice of strawberry or chocolate dipping sauce. The service has always been prompt and friendly for us, which is a big plus. It can get vrowded during peak times, but they have a nice deck and some lawn games to play while you wait.

I have to admit, I’ve been to B’s several times and still haven’t stepped inside the doors… but that’s because the patio rocks. If you like Cajun food, you’ve got to try this place. The remoulade is especially delicious and the beer list will soothe your taste buds from the spice. Great for dates or just hanging out with family and friends.

I know a thing or two about real N’awlins food. People, you MUST go to this place. Hands down the best Gumbo I’ve had outside of New Orleans. And now that Max knows the red beans secret, this place has it all!

B’s Po Boy is quality food with no frills. This place has all the appeals of a dive: sandwiches wrapped in paper, pitchers of beer, lawn games! However, the dining room is really nice and clean, and the food is fantastic! I’m not even a seafood lover but the pulled pork and creole chicken salad sandwiches are really tasty. Both are moist and flavorful and pair well with B’s crusty bread. You can’t go wrong choosing a side dish, but I love their french fries(thin and crunchy with big grains of sea salt). Opt for ½ a sandwich and save room for beignets with chocolate sauce for dessert! Great patio. Local beers on tap. Fair pricing. Quick carryout. FIVESTARS.

Meh, they place more emphasis on authentic bread but fall short on total package. Great location and atmosphere but lacking that authentic taste as there are better options elsewhere. I would really like to enjoy a local five star restaurant but cannot with B’s.

Okay. I seriously love this place. I feel pretty lucky that it’s an easy little joint to go to over my lunch break. Wish I could give more insight to all the po’boys, but really, I can just vouch for the fried shrimp. It’s my fav and I never stray. I also get the extra shrimp. I like it overflowing! The onion rings are fantastic, as are the sweet potato fries. I’m already excited over my next visit…

Fantastic warmer weather means we were on the hunt for grub and beers at establishments with outdoor seating. We hopped in the Jeep and headed to Fountain Square on a Friday evening… Enter B’s Po Boys… We were lucky to get a spot on the packed patio and pumped to learn that they are dog friendly as well(doggie menu on the napkin dispenser). I was even MORE excited to learn that they serve Abita products AND they have Turbo Dog on tap! YES! However, that is about the extent of my excitement when it comes to B’s. I took the advice of some other trusted Unilocal Elites and tried the Blackened Catfish Po Boy($ 9 market price for a *small* half) and the cajun cole slaw($ 2). The catfish had very little flavor and did not have a large presence on the sandwich really. Meh. The slaw was just like regular slaw — nothing cajun-y about it. Meh. The hubs had the pulled pork($ 7 for a half) and the sausage gumbo($ 4). He liked his food a lot and his sandwich was way tastier than mine. I did not dig the gumbo at all — tasted kind of… dirty? So we were in to «dinner» for $ 22 bucks already — add my $ 5.50 Turbo Dog and a $ 4.75 Purple Haze and we were at $ 35 before tip… and we were still hungry! Why the docked stars, lady? Well, to me the service was a little lackluster and pricing was a little on the high side considering the amount/quality of food we got. All in all, this was a 2ish star experience for me, but bumped it up due to having outdoor seating, being dog friendly, and having Abita products. Not sure we will come back for food, but maybe for a beer or 2 on the patio with the furkids. Sad trombone.

Spring is here and it’s time to chill at B’s! Solid service, great beer selection, and a fun menu. The catfish po boy is even better with some of that hot sauce all over it, creating a delicious mess. Outdoor deck seating is a major plus as is parking around the back. Did someone mention the bocce ball court? Yup!

I’m not sure what I was expecting, but B’s didn’t hit the mark for me. I came in during Final Four weekend and ordered a half spicy sausage po’ boy and slaw to go. Paying $ 7 for a half-size, I guess I was expecting something more substantial. What I got was a 4″ sandwich(if I’m being generous) with a thin sausage patty that had been cut in half to fit the bread. For taste, it was fine. It had a good spice to it, but really, it tasted basically like the extra spicy breakfast sausage you can get at the store. The slaw, however, was portioned appropriately and priced fairly, in my opinion. It was very tasty with a nice Cajun seasoning. I don’t like doing one and done visits, so I plan to go back to try something else when I get the chance and revisit this review. I just feel like the sandwich I received on this day was not worth the price I paid for it.

I really want to love this place, but every time I leave I find myself shrugging my shoulders in a «meh» fashion. The service and lackluster Louisiana-style eats are the top two reasons I feel three stars is fitting. For example, the red beans and sausage dish is missing the flavor punch you most often find and the beignets are hit or miss. Rumor has it they make a solid catfish sandwich. I need to give this dish a try down the road. B’s does a great job at featuring local brews and creating a laid back atmosphere. They’re located in Fountain Square which makes this a convenient stop during the bustling First Fridays. Next time: catfish sammie.

Oh my! How long has this place been around? I’ve been so blind! My first time here during SantaCon 2014 and I can’t believe it! It is on the south end of Fountain Square away from most things, so I’ve never really given it much though, from the outside it looks like an old diner, which as you go in, you can clearly see it used to be. The food is Cajun such as Po Boy’s and Gumbo. I had the Blackened Cat Fish Po Boy which was fantastic! Not quite Papa Roux which I think is the ultimate amazing Po Boy, but this place is definitely a close second. They also have quite a nice list of bottled beer. I would rate this place a 5 if it ended there. Unfortunately, I consider value when rating a place and for the«Whole» sandwich which is about 10″ long it cost $ 15. Now I don’t know about you, but that is quite a bit for a nearly foot long sandwich. You also have to pay extra for sides which range from $ 4 f(Fries, Cole Slaw, Gumbo) to $ 15(Alligator Bites) The beers were about $ 5 a bottle which I consider average, but this place has a very dive feel and I’d expect a bit less than that. If Papa Roux was closer to me, I’d write this place off. In the meantime, I’d come back here for more delicious Po Boy’s.
